Best seafood I've had in a while! The portions were incredibly generous, too. I ordered the bouillabaisse, and it was absolutely delicious. It had a great variety of seafood, including plenty of mussels, clams, fish, calamari, and shrimp. This small restaurant is located within the public market in the downtown area of Milwaukee. The public market is a cool place overall with lots of eateries and some vendors that sell other stuff. The Milwaukee Public Market is busy and a bit overwhelming but after some window shopping, we settled on grabbing food from St. Paul Fish Company. The line to the register was so long I actually was able to decide on my order pretty quickly - the fried oyster po'boy was meaty and crispy, not too overly breaded. The lobster roll meal came with fries and cole slaw for $20, which I found to be super affordable (this price is probably outdated now). A little bit too much filler but understandable and I was ok with it for the price. However, my favorite bite was the New England Clam Chowder, perfect for the rainy fall day. St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them.The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns! read more

Really well priced seafood options in Milwaukee. My husband and I came here before a show at the Riverside and we knew we would have to come back to try their other items. I got the walleye fish fry with chips and my husband got the fried catfish po boy. Both were delicious and the fish was super flavorful and not bland at all. It came with two things of tartar sauce which I loved, because you could put a decent amount of sauce on each piece of fish. Having had bunch of chowder in SF and Seattle before, this wasn't great - I'd even prefer Kroger's version over this one. The lobster roll could have been better with larger chunks of meat, but the pieces were cut too small and there was too much mayo mixed in. I sampled each type of oyster they had - all were shucked properly and tasted fresh without any fishiness. This place serves decent basic seafood.
