Took my sister here for lunch on Saturday. On entering you could see a bit of the aging of the establishment. We have not been here for quite a number of years since we moved down south. We were greeted and decided to grab a table in the bar so we could watch some of the games. The first high top we sat at, something was off. There was a smell, as my sister put it, "it smells like puke". Her words, not mine. So we moved to the other end of the bar, still the smell. So we asked the gal at the front to sit in the dining room. She walked my sister in and I waited till my wife came out of the restroom. We joined my sister and boy it was chilly! And my wife does not like it cold like that. So we asked if we could sit up on the raised area. Of course they obliged us. Found a booth by a window, it was perfect. Fortunately the place was not too busy yet so we did not interrupt anyone but the staff. My sister and I started with a Diablo Marg, really good! Then we ordered our entrees, I have enchiladas, one of each. They were super good, fresh and very hot/warm. Finished the whole plate! I would order that one again. One thing I generally dislike about Colorado is that a bunch of places to go are part of some big chain. I was delighted to find Hacienda Colorado to be a short walk from my hotel. I went at night, and the outdoor lighting didn't clearly indicate if the place was open or not. I was relieved when the door opened. Nachos are my benchmark for any texmex sort of establishment. To my surprise, I was able to eat the generous serving that was set in front of me. Add in a couple Dos Equis, and it rounded out a good evening. We had a coupon offer for $20 off of a $50 purchase, so we went on our date night, which happened to be a Tuesday. We got the Taco Tuesday for Two special, and the food was outstanding! For the 2 of us it was only $24, I can spend more than that at Taco Bell! Since dinner was so cheap, we splurged and got the Chocolate Piñata. It was truly epic, a huge chocolate ball that you hit with a mallet until it cracked open to reveal pineapple, strawberries, and mini churros. This was our second visit to Hacienda Colorado and it was another great experience. We started with Gimme the Skinny Margaritas (light and refreshing) a Modelo Especial (always good) and an iced tea. The complimentary chips and salsa were very tasty. The chips were thin and crisp and they came with two sauces, one spicier than the other. For entrees, we had the Ultimate Burrito, a good blend of ingredients with the right amount of red sauce; the Chile Rellenos with red sauce and white rice for a balanced vegetarian meal; and, two combo enchilada plates...one with cheese/onion and ground beef topped with green chili and one that was topped with red chili. My only disappointment was that there was no bite or strong flavor to the hatch green chili, something I expect when I eat good Mexican food in Colorado. The atmosphere is upscale Mexican in a casual environment and our server was superb. I would not hesitate to dine here again. read more

Have lived in Parker since 1998 and Hacienda was our go to for Mexican. Hadn't been in 6 months. Tonight tried dinner. Service was horrible. Then told the kitchen was in a wait??!! (What even is that?). The place was ALWAYS packed... we should've known when it wasn't that something was wrong. The waiter with the deep voice ruined our experience. So much so that we won't ever come back. He "greeted" us at the host stand when we walked in and right away was rude and just odd. He sat us in his section. He was rude, awkward and didn't seem to know anything about anything when we asked him about the menu. The original Hacienda and menu no longer exist :( Ownership has changed and corporate level management has forced this once local favorite over to a strange menu. The ceviche is gone, burritos don't exist on the menu at all, the guacamole is flavorless (the table side hopefully is less pasty and perhaps tasty) - & the special is a ribs combo plate without any seasoning . also, no Mexican restaurant should be without shredded beef.. our hearts are broken over these changes. Came here for lunch while visiting CO and the food did not disappoint. The chips and salsa were plentiful. If you come with kids, I suggest ordering their food first, it came out pretty fast that way we could enjoy our food when it came out. I tried the mex bowl with steak thinking it would be small but the portions were huge! My hubby got a burrito and it was also huge. The kids liked their chicken fingers and fries. This place was an absolute joke. Upon being sat our server informed up that 'this place has recently been bought out so I'd recommend the fajitas' which I still can't make sense of. I started with a $13 margarita which I'm pretty sure didn't have tequila in it at all. It seemed to be 80% muddled pineapple and ice with a splash of sweet and sour, emphasis on the sweet. My mom ordered one too which showed up 30 minutes later. Even though the place was in the lull between happy hour and dinner, our server insisted it took so long because the 'bar was really backed up'. With what? I couldn't tell you, but it wasn't with customers. My wife and I decided to split the veggie fajitas for two since, you know, the place had recently been bought out and all and that's what our server recommended. When the food finally arrived, it appeared to consist of half a portobello, a half a bell pepper, some wet stringy onion and a single sliver of zucchini. For two! The dish the scoop of guacamole came on was about the same size as the entire rest of the fajitas, which were delivered lukewarm (I touched the fajita skillet with my bare finger to prove the point; plates come out of my dishwasher hotter than that skillet was). And it cost $35! We hadn't even had a chance to take a bite of our food when our server came over to look at our untouched plates and ask how everything was tasting. By the uncomfortable look on my face he could tell something was not right, explained that 'the veggie fajitas look small because they don't have any meat on them' and he offered to get the manager to come by and see about getting the fajitas and our drinks taken off the bill. The manager came by and asked what the issue was and, upon having me ask about the portion size, snapped back 'that's because he messed up and rang in the fajitas for one' and said she'd be taking them off the bill. Since their vegetarian options were extremely limited I declined to try and figure out what else to eat since the rest of my party had their meals already which we had waited about 45 minutes for already. Nothing else was offered and the drinks stayed on the bill. Not a couple minutes later the server came by mid-meal and asked if we needed anything else and told us he'd be bringing the check by, even though the rest of the party had just begun eating. I guess they wanted us out of there. When I tried to joke with him about the fajitas being so small because they were for one, he got defensive and insisted that he had rung them in right. Sure enough, when the bill came there was a $35 charge voided out on there for fajitas for two so I'm not sure who was lying; our server or the manager. Either way, the whole experience was so weird and left such a bad taste in my mouth that I decided to come home and tell you all the funny story on a still empty stomach. Hopefully the entertainment value is worth the $46 I still ended up spending there (after the $35 fajita snack plate was comped) while trying to have a good meal with my family. Here's hoping whoever just bought the place decides to raze the building and replace it with with a better Mexican place (like a Taco Bell) because as it is, it seems to be the type of restaurant that gives the Denver Metro area its reputation as the city with really visually appealing restaurants that absolutely suck at providing anything resembling good food or service. read more

It's taken me a few weeks to write a review. I sat down to a dirty table. There was an abandoned tray of dirty plates next to our table and we had to personally move it so my Dad could sit down. The chips were stale and the salsa was watery. My glass was dirty. Flaming Fajitas. I can't believe the irresponsible servers. I was in the Marines and my PTSD was triggered. They lit the plate on fire behind me and they added too much fuel. The table next to me was upset and the gentleman even said some of his arm hair was burnt. The back of my neck felt the heat and impact. I was not expecting that to happen, nor did I know they do this at this restaurant. It was my first time here, and my last. I couldn't take it anymore and had to leave. Not going into details, I had to take care of my mental health and I'm struggling again. I had the cranberry marg & it was pretty good; my husband the house - not so good...Got the guac which the menu warns has no onions, cilantro or jalapeños. It was super bland. I had the chili rellenos. I wondered where are the chilies?? My husband had a combo platter which he said was a step above Casa Bonita. Very bad experience today . A reservation was made for a very important occasion. We had no clue that the menu had no vegetarian options. We were told that the menu is completely new and now there is a new management. The manager "Mary" was not at all empathetic to us for the inconvenience we had , although we were given a discount in the check "after asking ". However, if it was not the waiter Mr. Mark , we would have left looking for other restaurant options, he is just amazing with his service and was humble to us to make things better in our order . Once upon a time this place was great. Since they implemented shrinkflation on their drinks and adjusted their menu substantially, I cannot recommend. Steak in the burrito was overcooked and burnt, rice was also overcooked to the point where it was inedible. Spicy Margarita was $13 and I don't think any alcohol was put in the drink. If you are going to charge such high prices on your food, you must implement a QA process to ensure the food that is going out meets a standard. Passing on burnt food to the customer is unacceptable. read more

Yay for yummy tacos! I find it so difficult to find places that have good grilled chicken tacos- or grilled chicken at all- so I was very happy with Hacienda! Great outdoor patio area! Came by for an early dinner with a group. The chips and salsa were great, but the entrees fell short for me. I ordered the mountain Mex bowl and was surprised at how little flavor there was with so many ingredients in there -- it almost tasted watery. It also took a very long time to get silverware, drink orders, the check, etc., but will give Hacienda a pass on that one given the staffing issues these days. Giving it 2 stars - one for the frozen marg/sangria swirl, one for service (which was OK). Now, if they only had some properly salted chips, properly seasoned salsa, or a decent entree, they'd be getting a more positive review. The chips were some of the worst I've ever eaten- stale, too thick, and ZERO salt. Salsa (which used to be my fave!) was just sad....extra-squishy, with no flavor other than watery tomato. I also ordered a grilled chicken chimichanga with queso instead of green chili. The "grilled chicken" had zero seasoning and was more like foam rubber, there was NO sauce or cheese inside, and the outside was soggy with grease rather than crispy. I'm super sad about this because Hacienda has been one of my faves pre-2020. It's gone downhill steadily since. Finally, the booth seats were in major disrepair, with cuts, holes, and filthy places on each one we passed. It also wasn't nearly as busy as in the past. We really wanted Mexican food yesterday, but sadly, we chose to eat at Hacienda in Westminster! We always choose to eat at booths rather than tables, but the booths at Hacienda are not ADA compliant, the seats are practically on the floor and are both injured our backs and knees having to sit down so low! After we were seated, it took more than 15 minutes for our server to bring us water and take our drink orders! It took another 20 minutes for the server to bring our drinks! So we've established that the service sucked! And they weren't busy at all! The tortilla chips were great, but the salsa is hideous! The predominant ingredient was cilantro, which we both despise--as does more than 10 percent of the world's population! It's a genetic thing! Cilantro tastes like soap to us, and if they would omit the cilantro, their salsa might be wonderful, but we'll never know! The beans had a very strong acrid taste. We won't be back read more

We eat here occasionally, when we are in the area, and have always gotten good food and good service. They seem to have cut back their menu some since COVID, especially in the choices of sauces, but there is still a good variety of choices. I usually have one of the burritos (most recently the Ultimate Burrito with ground beef); these are always good. Their chips are unusually thin but very tasty and are not greasy, and they are strong enough to dip the (somewhat watery) salsa. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, with lots of tile but not too noisy, and service is very cheerful and attentive. They offer reservations, which we have not used because we go at lunch time and we usually get seated right away; there have been one or two times we had to wait twenty or thirty minutes. I would say the food is "Americanized" Mexican, with no unusual dishes or ingredients, and lightly spiced. The restaurant describes its food as Mountain Mex, in contrast to Tex-Mex, and it is a lot better than Tex-Mex. Portions are generous, and served on platters rather than plates. Overall this is a fancy place, but not much more expensive that your average street-corner Mexican place. read more

Table side guacamole was not as good as I feel it could be for $13. Just avocado with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, and salt. Let me start by saying I've been eating at Hacienda Colorado for over 20 years. It's been one of our favorite places to have a good delicious meal and drinks. Over the years I gave had two of my company dinners at the Westminster location. These dinners were very memorable with platters such as the Mexican mesquite smoked ribs and the chili replenish. Along with the delicious posole. This last visit Saturday March 22nd 5:30 pm was a big disappointment in every aspect. First I noticed the walls are dirty and need a professional paint job. Not just a sloppy paint job with sloppy paint lines along the wood beams and ceiling line. I also noticed the sunshades on the west windows were fithy with food scattered all over them. We sat at a table next to the windows. Though the previous two visits we have sat at booths which are beat up and in dire need of restoration. Primarily the cushions. Now to the server. His name was Nathan. Nice kid. He took our order. One order of steak tacos. One order of signature ribs. One diet Coke. One house frozen margaritas. Two ice waters and some flour tortillas. Nathan dropped the ball. He forgot one of the ice waters. He returned to ask what we ordered. He forgot? It was only two meals. When the platters arrived he forgot the tortillas. My wife's steak tacos were the least flavourful she has ever had at Hacienda. This is the only thing she ever orders. I'm guessing she has ordered them at least 60 times in the past. My ribs were forgettable. Nothing signature about them. Three ribs with cartilage? Stuck in between the bones. I'm confused with this since I just had ribs at Texas Roadhouse last week. Pulling the bone straight off the meat cleanly and no cartilage. Just pure meat and delicious. Haciendas ribs were lackluster and way overpriced for what you receive. The Mexican sausage accommodating this plate was also bland. Hacienda please clean up the place and spruce it up. Train Nathan more thoroughly. Quality check your dishes and return to better days when visiting your restaurant was a very enjoyable experience all around.​​ read more

Not happy with and will not be back. They offer you five dollar coupon to everybody at the table, then when you go to utilize the coupon they will not let you. It's a five dollar coupon for signing up for their automated texts, after the debacle and being told by the manager they would not let me use the five dollar coupon, I stopped their texting of me. So for five dollars they lost a customer that will not be back. The food is subpar anyway so not a big loss. The coupon is for an online order, but when you are the table they are trying to get you to sign up for it, and when you do the manager comes out and says oh so sorry that Coupon is not good today.
