We enjoyed the avocado tacos and the jackfruit tacos, which can be made vegan on request. The chips and salsa were delicious, and the peach cider was excellent. I really wanted to love Vatos Tacos because the food itself has solid potential, but unfortunately, the customer service during my visit left a lot to be desired. The biggest issue was the experience with Devin, the GM. His interactions while taking orders came across as dismissive and somewhat arrogant, which set an uncomfortable tone from the start. What was more concerning was how he spoke to and treated the team members he was supervising -- it felt unnecessarily sharp and demeaning, especially in front of customers. There was also a noticeable delay with billing and follow-up, and communication around timing wasn't very clear. We sat at the bar, so it was a bit tough to ignore him since he was directly in front of us, serving as the bartender. A little more attentiveness and courtesy would have gone a long way. That said, Matt truly stood out in the best way. He was gracious, warm, and incredibly courteous. He took time to share his personal favorites, offered some off-menu secrets that genuinely elevated our tasting experience, and even suggested local festivals and activities to my friend who had just moved to the area. In a world that has felt especially chaotic lately, his kindness was deeply appreciated -- perfectly paired with a side of tacos and Topo Chicos. I hope this was just an off day on the management side, because the spot has promise. With more polished and respectful customer service -- especially at the leadership level -- the overall experience could improve significantly. read more

This place is awesome. We live close by so we come fairly regularly. The service is 10/10 and food is good too. Only complaint is not a ton of veg options (would love cheese enchiladas, reg quesadilla etc). It's got a great patio and it is literally the only good spot to eat and drink on a nice day in this area. We are hopefully that with the park opening and more people moving into the area it will continue to do well! read more

This is a great spot to grab some tacos before a movie at The Alamo Drafthouse across the street. They have great happy hour specials on drinks. They have killer deals on Tacos on Tuesdays. And, even if it's busy on the patio, you can usually grab a couple of seats at the bar. I really like the carnitas quesadilla. The churros with tres leches ice cream is a fantastic dessert. And, the folks behind the bar are always friendly to chat with. There is not much street parking, but there is a free parking lot just North of the movie theater. read more

Good margaritas, cold beer, tacos and nachos. Fairly large place with outdoor seating and plenty of tv screens is you want to catch a game. Tacos & Tequilla is a clean, well managed restaurant. We ate on a a Friday at 6:15 p m and our table of six were seated immediately, inside. There is an attractive outdoor seating space but the weather is too cold to enjoy outside eating, yet, January. I had the enchiladas carnitas with beans and rice added. My wife hade a bowl of some kind. The rest of our group had street tacos. We ordered taco chips and assorted dips for everyone to share. We had no complaints about the food. Soft drinks are self-served from a soda fountain and there is a separate bar for alcoholic beverages. Three in our party had margaritas and all were happy with them. This is a great restaurant for families with kids. Plenty of space and tables that can be arranged and configured to accommodate the size of a group. I would personally choose a smaller, family owned place for date night, this is a great place for families and groups of several people. The food is okay and service is great. It is an order at the counter and sit down eatery, the food was delivered by an excellent server. Only two desserts were available when we were there but I was full anyway. My only criticism is they didn't have flan on the menu and the only menu was a big board over the back of the counter where you place your order. It would be nice to have a menu to take to your table. There was a line to order at the counter that went reasonably fast. We'll return and look forward to eating outside. read more
