I had the pleasure of eating there for dinner last night. The ambiance the decor was amazing.. I ordered a frozen margarita which was very tasty and a had a great amount of alcohol in it which is what a margarita is suppose to taste like and should be. I also ordered a garlic shrimp dish with sautéed spinach and yellow rice which is what accompanied the dish. The food was cooked to perfection. That food was so good I almost fell asleep at the table. I left no crumbs. I also ordered as an appetizer the fish tacos. Not salty very nice pieces of fish with chipotle sauce. I sat at the bar which was perfect. Nice and clean bar too. The bartender who Made my drink was very welcoming as soon as I sat down which is also a plus. I will be back read more

Like having a left over, re-heated meals in the CARCASS of a 'Once-Upon-A-Time' the best mexican restaurant in the neighborhood... This evening, I ordered my usual favorites...Table side Guacamole, Tamale and (Roasted Red Snapper) Huachinango a la Veracruzana... 1st of all, the Guacamole is Table side no longer, but the awful part was that it was practically Frozen, so COLD it gave me a headache; Next was the Tamale, it tasted good the first one and two bites, then, to discover that it was cold inside, I signaled the waitress to let her know, she came over and said 'Everything good?' so I proceed to tell her about the Tamale being cold, then, she smiled and walked away...I'm so confused, did she NOT Understand or NOT CARE... Frankly, it is NOT GOOD either way. Then came my Huachinango which is the SAAADEST of all for it tasted like Absolutely Nothing at all, so disappointing I can't even talk about it anymore!!! This is a delicious, reasonably priced Mexican restaurant in Mt Kisco. One day, we stumbled upon this place when we were starving, and nothing else was open. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was excellent. My go-to dish here is the fish tacos, which are filled with fried snapper, chipotle sauce, and vegetables. Other people in my party get the steak fajitas and enchiladas with chicken and suiza sauce. We also usually get the platanos with sour cream and mole sauce for the table. The ambiance is a little silly, with the fake palm tree in the middle of the dining room, but it works. Today, there was a colorful "cinco de mayo" banner hanging on one of the walls. The only area where this place loses points is service. The last time we came here, the chef was not on the premises. They didn't tell us, and they kept us, the customers, there feeding us tortilla chips and salsa for over an hour. It wasn't until another customer got up and investigated what was happening that we realized the chef wasn't around. read more

We've been going to Hacienda La Paloma for a number of years now and always walked away satisfied. Unfortunately last night we walked away in shock at how bad the food was. We ordered the coconut shrimp to start and were so disappointed when it was brought to the table. We could tell just by the look of it that it wasn't the same. You couldn't even tell that it was coconut shrimp. It just got worse from there. Our main courses were horrible. The shrimp were obviously frozen and such a poor quality. I'm not sure what happened to this place but we can't go back. Neither I nor my wife could eat our main courses. I feel bad for the staff because they all work so hard and are all so pleasant. I've been here twice already. Mexican is one of my favorite cuisines. And this is one of the top spots in Westchester for Mexican. Drinks are really good. The mojitos and margaritas are strong drinks and well proportioned. Love their chips and salsa. Guacamole is flavored well and prepared fresh. I had the skirt steak and shrimp dish. It was fantastic. Wife had the fajitas and was also very happy. (Like the most of vegetables they use). Looking forward to coming again and trying the paella. We saw several people eating it and it looked good. The waiter barely spoke english and had a very hard time with understanding our simple orders. however, the margaritas were excellent as was the fajitas. the shrimp could have been larger and they were a bit skimpy with the number of shrimp. First time here! Went with a group of 10 people! I vote this as the most authentic Mexican restaurant in northern westchester. Excellent frozen margaritas, had to have two of them (strawberry) Appetizers suggestions: freshly made guacamole right at your table! We have two portions made for 10 of us and still plenty left! Everyone was satisfied with their meals. My friend said that it was the best beef tacos he had ever had! I had a sautéed shrimp dish with spinach and rice! My family is positively unanimous for eating at Hacienda. They treat you as family and the restaurant is "fun" and consistently good. They have an extensive menu selection and when you order the steak medium rare- it comes out as ordered. Wife like their Margaritas and I like that they serve beer in ice cold glass. Of every worldly cuisine, all of which I love, Mexican food is probably my favorite. I am somewhat of a Mexican food connoisseur/snob, and this is our go-to Mexican restaurant. The food is phenomenal, if I were going to the electric chair tomorrow, the tampiqueña would be my last meal. The drinks were amazing, I have the sangria when I go. The salsa has a unique smokey flavor that I cannot find anywhere else. The seafood is very fresh and not fishy at all. The atmosphere is captivating, it really does look like a Mexican hacienda. I heard this place was brand new to town and the reviews were excellent so I had to come take a look for myself. When I first came in, the place was empty but that was just in preparation for the Saturday night rush. Every table filled before the end of my dining experience. We ordered 3 dishes, the plantanitos, Fajita, and Quesadillas. The chicken quesadillas were made with soft, runny cheese that just melted in our mouths. In addition, the chicken was delectable, tender and moist throughout the entire meal. The Fajitas were amazing and we ordered the skirt steak to go with it. We found all the veggies were perfectly cooked, not a single veggie was burnt yet they all had the perfect char on both sides. The skirt steak was also made to order and was the star of the dish as well. The only thing I regret from this dining experience was not ordering a bowl of guacamole with our chips. They go through the effort of making the guac in front of us and showing us each step as they mix everything in front of us. Oh man. What happened ? Alright, so there were three people working in the entire place. A host, a waitress, quite angry to be there, and we can only assume a cook in the back. When we arrived, the waitress looked nothing short of upset that we had the gall to enter the restaurant. There was nobody at the host desk and nobody to seat us. Without eye contact or words, we were indicated to sit at a table. Highlights of the meal included: * A pretty damn good blood orange margarita, good tequila taste, made as requested. * Fajitas, two sets. We were asked how we wanted them prepared, and chose medium and rare. They came well done and medium-well. Not a big portion, but adequate. Rice and beans were competent, although there was a bit too much black cilantro in the pico de gallo. * Guacamole. After requesting the guacamole, there was quite a loud argument between the man ostensibly in charge and the waitress. After losing the argument, the waitress resigned herself to coming to our table to prepare the guac. It was fine, but again, a little too many pieces of old cilantro. There was less than one avocado in the dish; there was a bad part so she cut off about 1/4 of the thing, but didn't replace it with anything else. Tasted alright though. * Non-refillable chips. In theory, one should have adequate chips with which to eat the guacamole and salsa. After receiving our food, the waitress and host actively avoided us - and everyone else in the room - for the duration of the meal. Want water? Too bad. You can wait and watch the dust floating around in the sunshine though through the windows. Speaking of which, how about taking a can of Pledge to the place once in a while? It's a Mexican restaurant, not the tomb of Tutankhamun. (Or Quetzalcoatl for that matter). We finally asked for some more chips and water, and received an affirmative response - and some refills of our water. We then waited about 15 minutes, and asked again for some more chips, after we were unable to steal any from the bar. We were told again, "Okay", and simply ignored. Finally, the host came to give us the check and take away the guacamole, at which point we stopped him, pointing to remaining amount, and requested chips again for a third time. This time, we received them. * The salsa is excellent. Nice and tomato-y, mild chipotle flavor, really kind of yummy! We both liked it. During the meal, nobody was coming around for 10-15 minutes at a time. Not even to ask if we wanted more drinks - way to leave money on the table, guys. As we left, I looked around at the sad faces in the room around us, as nobody was there. The two employees - the host and waitress - had gone to the empty bar at the other end of the restaurant to watch futbol and drink in lieu of working.. Not that much work had been done. I took a picture of them on the way out. I mean, how can you just leave your job to go to the bar? The dining room is full of patrons and you're just watching TV and drinking out of earshot ? Anyway, the salsa was good. I'm not sure what kind of circus is being run here, but I can't imagine any of the clowns who were "working" there today are invested in the business. It seemed as though they'd rather be anywhere else. We won't be back. Two stars for good salsa and good margaritas. But man, you people need to get your act together. The little note on the check about tipping in cash to avoid taxes was cute too. read more

The service is good and the ambiance is nice so those are pluses. $21 for a burrito seems a bit much considering it costs about $3 to put one on a plate. The typical Mexican fare is best. The frozen margs are also very good with a generous amount of tequila as well (not too much but enough to get you lit) The workers are always so nice and friendly. I made a reservation on Friday for Saturday evening. I wanted outdoor dining. The gentleman that took the reservation said they did not have heaters. I said OK and we agreed that I would check back Saturday afternoon and recheck. I called at 4 PMon Saturday and was told again that there were no heaters. It was 65 degrees and I said that would be fine. We got to the restaurant and after waiting 5 min to be seated I was told that outdoor dining was closed. This is the 2nd time we have issues with outdoor dining. I will never go back again. read more

Really liked dinner here the other night. We've lived here for 3 years and have never tried Hacienda La Paloma. I had the fish tacos (delicious fried red snapper), and we split an order of guacamole. My husband and the chicken mole, and our friends had quesadillas, empanadas, and enchiladas. Everyone seemed really happy. Only negative was that happy hour specials were only available at the bar, so if you're seated, where you're already spending more money on food, you don't get a break on cocktails. read more
