My 23 Yukon Denali Ultimate Duramax had a P0421 code and the check engine light was on. I spoke with Bill Iverson over the phone, and he advised me to bring it in. My wife drove it there, and he scanned it upon her arrival. He asked us to bring it back on Monday, where he guaranteed a loaner. He kept his word; my check engine light was covered under warranty, and it was resolved a week later. Bill was courteous, polite, and made the process simple and straightforward. I guess if you don't have cars to sell, you have to make your money on service. Beware of this dealer, poor, poor service. I didn't get a satisfaction survey...as expected! I had my in warranty vehicle towed to a trusted dealer at my own expense to get as far away from them as possible. My dealer checked the truck over...and guess what, they were wrong, just like I said on each of the 3 calls they tried to justify what they found. 6/28/22 Spoke with Service Department Manager, they told me how great they are and that I am wrong, that they are putting a warranty block on my vehicle because they don't make mistakes. They have the smartest top 10 tech in the country who worked on my truck and found gas...not, water...not and they admitted that the test wouldn't find water...but in their report is says is does. I recently had a very bad experience with a used car purchase at this dealership, literally a week ago. I would not recommend any purchases from this dealership based upon my personal experience. In hindsight, this is definitely a purchase that I personally regret and unfortunately will likely incur a significant and unexpected additional expense to remedy a problem that I feel that they knew about unless they are truly inept. Used car buyers beware! Back in July, my mom and I were looking for a reliable, used vehicle and found a car we were interested in on Haggerty's website. I called and spoke to Al who said he'd have the car ready for us when we arrived. We went there a few hours later, test drove the car and decided we liked it. We talked at length with Al about how we wanted something safe and reliable and how we'd be taking it to Missouri (where my mom lives) to do safety & title inspections. They knew this furthermore because we did not pay sales tax upon buying since we'd be taking care of that in MO. Al swore up and down this car was such a great car, he'd let his daughters drive it and there were guys in the dealership that were hoping to take it home (I find this hard to believe since the car was on the lot for a month, but I digress). We asked him many different times about the inspection the dealership does and he promised us we're getting a good quality car in safe working condition. He (and his manager) said Haggerty stands by their cars and want to make sure they are putting safe vehicles on the road. My mom and I felt good about buying from them and closed the deal. We were duped. Not even 2 weeks later, my mom took the car for safety inspections and failed them. 3 different mechanics (including one licensed Buick GMC dealer) told us we shouldn't have been allowed to drive it from Chicago to STL in the condition it was in. The torque strut mount and rack & pinion were broken and the power steering was leaking (an additive was found to help mask the problem), among other issues. We asked all three mechanics if this was an issue that happened in the last 2 weeks and all three agreed it was in poor condition prior and that any halfway decent inspection should have caught it. All three quoted us between $1,000-$1,800 to make it safe to drive and pass inspections. We called Haggerty, hoping they would stand by all the promises they made and instead they told my mom "maybe a rock hit it" and then told her she signed an agreement that the car was sold "as-is". So much for standing by their inspection and cars TWO WEEKS after selling it and performing a "50-point inspection'. After continuing to press them to stand by their word, they offered my mom ~$200. What a complete joke. Don't buy into their "used car inspections" and "trusted reputation". If you do have problems, they will talk down to you and not stand by their cars. read more

Once again I am beyond happy with the service I received today. I dropped off my 2017 acadia for air conditioning service. It wasnt working. The service advisor Pedro took up all the information. Previously I was told at my last appointment I did not have an extended warranty and because the car was in the shop when my wife gave birth to my daughter a month early. So looking into if I had a extended warranty was not.a priority. However today Pedro found the extended warranty and when I brought up the fact I had to pay over a year ago the service manager Steve became involved, made some calls and the warranty company is mailing me a check for the money I'm out after they process it. This will not be a good review. Ultimately, I like the vehicle I purchased but in hindsight, I found the overall experience to be unfavorable. Let me start by taking accountability for my own actions in buying this car. At anytime I could have taken a step back, realized I was unhappy with the sales tactics and walked away. I could have also, taken a closer look at some of the imperfections of the vehicle that upon later inspection, I was unhappy with. I signed the paperwork without reading the details throughly, I was excited to buy a car that I liked and I moved too fast. That's on me. This dealership presented some basic tactics that help perpetuate the bad reputation that comes with being a used car salesman. There was some "good cop/bad cop", some quick change fast talking, and a few flat out lies that in retrospect, really soured my experience in buying a vehicle from haggerty. Everything seemed to be fine with the deal until we reached the finance office. The finance person told me that the monthly bill was much higher than what I was quoted by the salesman. This still had nothing to do with sales tax, financing, or warranty. I asked where the mistake came from, I was told it was a miscalculation. Another misleading factor was the 3 day return policy. I was explained by the salesman, a manager, and the finance person that if at any point I was unhappy, I could "just bring it back within 3 days" and they would take the vehicle back. The fine print actually stated that it was an exchange policy. So i couldn't bring the car back unless I basically got "store credit" and exchanged the vehicle for another vehicle. I kept finding imperfections on the upholstery that I didn't see when I first drove the vehicle in the first week of owning the vehicle. I should have inspected the interior of the vehicle more closely before purchasing. One of those instances was the fact that the car had no floor mats. I called to ask about that, and was told by the salesman that he could cut me a deal on new mats. I replied "I just paid X amount of dollars for a car with no floor mats and you want to sell me floor mats? Don't worry about it, I'll buy my own somewhere else" Providing good customer service promotes return customers. I will not be a returning customer. read more

I bought my car from Haggerty GMC just over three years ago. Completely satisfied with the sales team. However what blows my mind is their service team. Brought my car in on Dec 30th for a check engine light. I did not have an appointment and the service tech informed me he would try to get someone to look at it that day. He could not promise as they were booked solid and short staffed. Mid afternoon they called and told me the issue. Presented a couple of options as he was not sure they would have time to fix it that day. I decided to leave it with them and have it fixed when they could. Turns out I needed new plugs and had carbon built up as the car now had 104k miles. They kept me posted throughout the day and provided an estimate on when my car would be ready on Dec 31. They are a very professional group and provide great recommendations to solve your car issues. I have worked with Bill Iverson in their service department in the past for routine maintenance. He took care of me again and he did not disappoint. What a great asset to Haggerty GMC to have such a dedicated and professional team in the service department. The car is running like it is brand new! If you are looking for a new car or a certified GMC I would highly recommend this dealership as they are great to work with from every department. I had an appointment "scheduled" for today to view a Maxima that they had placed online for 6:30pm, apparently when I showed up at 5:35pm the car had just been sold (30 minutes ago so they say). I speeded my way over there through traffic, drove an 1hour and 30minutes and all they could say was they tried calling me. HUMONGOUS lie, no calls or voicemails appeared on my phone however needless to say definitely many calls and emails confirming I would show up. I would like to think that this is the way they bring customers in and then lure them into just choosing another car, since the one you're coming to see has "just" been sold! We bought used a car a week ago and I would say it was just a fair deal. We didn't get the best price and we really didn't get ripped off. I think there is deception towards the customer though. They said they just received the car on trade but yet the Car Fax said is was traded in, in September. We seen it on the internet and when we arrived at the dealer, it wasn't in the used car section. One of the salesmen must have been driving it. Looked like it was being used. When we were making the deal, I asked about a second key. The salesperson said cars don't come with second keys anymore. Bold Faced Lie! I recently called a few dealers and all new cars come with 2 keys. Used cars, it depends what the previous owners trade in....and I get it. But why make up a B.S. story like cars only come with 1 key now-a-days. I don't appreciate being lied to. Unless that's what GMC does, for that I'll never buy a GMC or if that's what that dealer does. My trade in was fair as well. Like I said, nothing great, just fair....except for the B.S. on the key part. Will I return?.....Probably not. This place really screwed me, after going in and telling the salesman how my parents just passed and im about to be homeless but need a car to try and get my life back in order so he helped me with a "Certified pre owned car"? Which i dont see how that makes it any better how they sold me a car that ran fine on test drive and a month later everything began to fail. Currently trying to find a place that will replace my transmission, and thats just the beginning of problems that ive been having. I decided to take my wife's Spyder GTS into Haggerty Buick / GMC for some bodywork. A couple weeks back another driver decided he did not want to wait any longer in line to exit a parking lot so he put his Jeep into reverse and backed up onto my wife's hood. I am, how you say - "technically challenged". I have the oddest issues with technology! And it embarrasses me. So whenever I have these issues with our 2011 Acadia, I send my husband to do my dirty work. Last week though, there was a pressing issue with one of my tires, (i.e., a bolt) and I couldn't wait for him so I had to go in alone. Mark Montanez quickly addressed my problem and resolved the issue to our satsifaction. On top of that, and as he always does, Mark provided exceptional customer service while we waited. I would not recommend this dealership to anybody. We purchased a Luxury SUV here and shortly after started having issues with it. The staff nor the manager were helpful and lifted their hands from all liability. With the understanding that it was purchased less than a month ago, I would think they would service the car to at least make sure we don't have any issues to begin with. I don't recommend for anybody to come to this place, at all. We are regretfully stuck with a vehicle that seems to be climbing up with issues (this is our second problem in less than a month). Specifically reviewing their service department. They really do good work but every time I go I get quoted cheaper elsewhere, after the fact. Most of the time I wish I'd have gone back to my regular mechanic. For example I was quoted on a whole new brake system for front and back shoes new rotors etc. They quoted me at $750 my regular mechanic quoted me at $475. They just have a higher hourly rate than most places. What this place is great for that your local mechanic won't and can't offer is a dealer car to use if your car takes several days to get fixed. If they don't have one for you they will almost always offer you a ride home or to the train station. read more

Below is an email that I sent to the service manager at Haggerty two weeks ago today. I have yet to receive any sort of response. Dear Steve/Tony- I wish that I could say that your service team successfully completed their job. When I bought my first job back in 2003, my father insisted that I buy a car from Haggerty Pontiac because of the service center. The hours were fantastic and he felt that the service team went above and beyond what they needed to do for him. My original car was totaled in June 2005. Joe in the body shop was great and took care of me. I was a happy customer when I left with my new 2005 Vibe. I fortunately had only a handful of dealings with your service department in regards to recalls through the years. That was until March of last year. The day before I was going back to work after my maternity leave, my brakes decided that it was time to be replaced. It was a Sunday and I dropped my car off and left my keys. Your service team called the next day to let me know that the car was received. I had been having trouble with my air conditioning and with a little one; I didn't want to have her in a car that I couldn't cool down. Quite honestly, this was probably my biggest mistake. The brakes had been serviced sufficiently, but my HVAC unit hadn't been the same since. A couple of months after that, when I needed the air conditioner it was not producing any cool air. I dropped my car off once again. Your team had it over a week. You may actually already be aware of this one because your team ended up going through four units to determine that they were plugging it in backwards the whole time. While I would completely understand this situation back in 2003 when the Vibe came out, we are talking 12 years later. It took one of your staff contacting a friend that worked at Toyota to get it right. This is unacceptable to me. Two weeks after this, I turned the system on in the car and the fan went out. I turned it off and back on and it came on. Then it started going out over bumps. I have a little one and a full time job. I didn't have the time to drop my car off and try to find a car to borrow. Then in the cold of winter, I took my car on the highway and the whole unit went out. I dropped my car off with Danny (whom, I had already been dealing with) and I pointed out that there were some lights out on the control unit. I asked him to take a look at those and see if they could be replaced. He stated at the time that is probably an indication of what was wrong with the blower. I said that it couldn't be because those lights had been out for over 3 years. Danny called me later in the day and told me that the control unit had to be replaced for approximately $500. He told me that would fix the lights and my problem with the blower. I had him replace it. Less than a week later it started to go out over bumps again. I eventually turned my car back into Danny. Your team unplugged everything and couldn't find anything wrong. They test drove it over the road that I asked them to and I even drove with Danny and it seemed okay. A few weeks later, it was out once again. I dropped my car off 2/23 to look at that and to do the air bag recall. Danny called me back later in the day and told me that was actually the blower motor and it would be $700 to replace. In other words, I spent $500 earlier in the year that I didn't have and for no reason. Only to replace a couple of light bulbs that I ultimately didn't care about. Your team should have noted the previous time that it was the blower and I would have put my money to this and my car trouble would have been over. Danny let me know that the blower will most likely go out over a bump again and gave me my car back. I took my car back from him as the blower was still on. That night, I traded a car that was supposed to last me at least 150-200K miles in with not even 72K miles on it and with NO other issues except for the HVAC system. I basically got my money that I put into it for it instead of having the vehicle and a down payment. I didn't even have the $500 that I wasted on an unneeded repair. Had the blower been replaced two services ago, I would still have my car. To say that I am disappointed in your service department is an absolute understatement. I will not be returning to your service department. I will make sure that anyone thinking of going to your service department that I know is aware of my situation and to be cautious. Bringing a car in FIVE times (THREE in this year alone for the same issue) is unacceptable. This should have been fixed the first time. There is more, but I am out of Yelp space... read more

Had an excellent experience at Haggerty, with my first ever car purchase. Before visiting Haggerty I was comparing offers at a myriad of Chicagoland Buick dealerships, and even ended up visiting a few a little closer to home while trying to track down the model with all the specifications I wanted. Several other dealerships did the typical bait and switch, saying the car that I had confirmed in their inventory had just sold after my call, or did not qualify for the promotions offered online.... but unlike their competitors, my experience at Haggerty was totally transparent and straightforward! While Villa Park is a little bit of a hike from the city, the commute was beyond worth it for the awesome service their team provided. I called in with the stock number to confirm that they had the specific vehicle I was interested in viewing on the premises. From my first call all the way through to signing the papers, Jim Borchers on the sales team was beyond helpful guiding me through the car buying process. He went out to make sure the car was physically in stock, visually confirmed that it had all the features I wanted, and did not try and rush me in the door like other places. There was no pressure, and he was straightforward explaining the deals that they offered on this make/model as well as the financing options available (some other dealerships told me promotional and financing deals could be combined just to get me in the door, but denied this as soon as I was there in person). Jim was eager to answer all my questions with his honest opinions, and assured me that I should reach out should anything come up after the purchase. While we were waiting on the financing approval, he walked me through all the features of the car, set up my trial Onstar account, and even took it out to fill up the tank! The rest of the team at Haggerty was also great every step of the way- Chris in financing was helpful in securing me a great rate on my financing (as a recent college grad, this was very important to me), and Tony the Sales Manager kept stopping by to make sure the whole process was running smoothly. While I won't be close enough to take advantage of the free first oil changes and tire rotation service, they are a nice perk if you're in the area. At the end of the day, I left with a smile on my face, feeling amazed that the car buying process could be so painless. You could see where they did extremely substandard body work to cover rust in order to sell the vehicle. This is nothing but fraud is no different then rolling back mileage. There is no better dealer than Haggerty (Pontiac) Buick GMC. I say Pontiac, as before it went under, Haggerty in Villa Park was also a Pontiac dealer, and that is also when I purchased my first car from them in 2008. This will take a while, as Haggerty and I have a bit of history... I get bored very easily with my cars... Anyhow, I found a car I wanted online at an unbeatable price. Fate led me to meet with Tom Carrozzo (my salesman). I handed him the keys to my car I wanted to trade, and told him (before even test driving my dream car) that I was buying it, no questions asked. I traded in my motorcycle and my G6 for a certified 08 G8 GT with low miles and in perfect condition. Fast forward three months - my best friend crashed my car... She (the car) was mangled beyond recognition. I brought her ("Blanca") in to the body shop at Haggerty who worked with Allstate to fix my car up. She looked BETTER than when I first got her a few months prior!! All service was done to Blanca with Haggerty, as they treated her like the princess she was! Fast forward another 8 months or so... October 2009 - I wanted a GTO. Badly. I worked with Tom to find one that I wanted. A Brazen Orange 2006, manual, etc. Together we found my dream car and Tom's guys drove down to southern Indiana to pick her up for me. I traded my beloved Blanca for my beautiful Brazen bombshell. Again, excellent service all the way!! Thankfully, I never needed the body shop for her, but I know that if I would have, it would have been amazing work!! Again, always serviced at Haggerty in Villa Park with amazing results. In the mean time (while still owning the GTO) I had picked up a 2009 TBSS at another local dealer that will remain unnamed... I received a good price, but everything else was horrible, so I serviced my TBSS at Haggerty, as I LOVE their service department. They kept my SS in tip top shape!! I made the mistake of trading my TBSS to another dealer up north a bit about 10 months ago. Biggest mistake of my car buying career... I took my grandmother in to see Tom back in February of this year and walked out with a brand new and fully loaded 2013 Verano. What a great vehicle!! Tom matched my grandma with the car of her dreams. She couldn't be happier!! She took the Verano in to have a recall performed on her nav last month, and since there was a bit of a wait, Haggerty gave her a ride home (four towns away) so that she didn't have to wait around for them. They called her when it was ready and came back to pick her up. What great service!!!!!! Anyhow, while we were at Haggerty purchasing my grandma's car in February, I expressed my boredom with the "mistake" vehicle that I had purchased from another dealer, and Tom told me to let him know when I was ready to start looking again. A couple months later I let him know I was ready to consider a new vehicle and the search was on for another TBSS!! As luck would have it, the service manager was about ready to trade in an 08 TBSS... I got the call last week from Tom that they had it in. I went to look at her on Friday night. Tom was off Friday night, so I called him on Saturday to discuss the truck. We were able to work out a deal over the phone, but I wasn't able to come in that day to sign paperwork. Our schedules wouldn't match until Thursday of this week to where he would be working and I could come in... So instead of have the truck sell to someone else, Tom came in on his day off specifically to meet with me and sell me the truck. That is seriously unheard of these days. His customer service is exceptional. Tom is attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and such a great pleasure to work with!! Having bought all of these cars at Haggerty, I have also dealt with finance a few times. Chris is very nice, not intimidating like most finance departments I've sat down in. He explains everything so that it's understandable and always gives you comparisons on loan options. He also isn't pushy when it comes to extended warranties and add-ons, as some dealers are. There is no way anyone has ever had any dealer go out of their way as much as Haggerty has for my family. We are always greeted with friendly smiles when we walk in the door. And they have been the same smiles over the last five years - their employee retention speaks VOLUMES about how they run their business. Not a good experience with this dealership. In fact it was a disaster. Haggerty aggressively promoted a high mileage GM car (Cadillac CTS) both online and out front at the dealership. Within the first 400 miles, the problems that were not manifested in the test drives under 35 mph at sale came to the front: torque converter (transmission) failure, failed rear wheel bearing, inoperable power window, and dead battery in the spare key fob. Further analysis revealed an utterly filthy and rodent nested air filter. This dealership does not fully examine pre-owned cars prior to sale and readily pushes faults and costs to the customer ( you and me). The offer to cover only half of their own shop's estimated $6,000+ repair bill was highly unfair, and the dealer owner readily blamed me for not noticing the shortcomings earlier. I say it is the dealer who should vet these vehicles before offering and selling defective merchandise. The owner's recommendation to me was " sell the car to CarMax or Carvana", essentially saying pass the nightmare on to someone else just like we did to you. read more

Beware!! Service department dishonest!! I bought a pre-certified vehicle from them, they did some warranty work to replace wheel bearings, during next visit they told me CV boots were leaking and I need to replace both front axles at $950. I got a second opinion and they found the CV boots were damaged during the wheel hub replacement. Brought it back, and they replaced only the boots because they were covered under the 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty. I asked why the axles weren't replaced as they told me they needed to be and why it wasn't fixed the first time under warranty...same old lies....same old GM run around...going back to Honda with next vehicle. read more

Bought a certified used car (LaCrosse), the Sales guy Jim B. was low key, informative, conversational. No b.s. The service dept has been excellent; the service folks have a professional and friendly demeanor, they listen. Have taken the car there for oil changes, and routine maintenance, they get me in and out as promised. Had brakes done yesterday, they had given me a worst case estimate but called saying they didn't have to replace the rotors or rear pads, they didn't sell me what I didn't need. Their dent removal guy also pulled out a door nick at a nominal charge when brakes were done. Kudos to Steve and Bill in service for keeping things honest and smooth. read more

I had been emailing back and forth with Dan regarding a preowned vehicle I found on their lot. He immediately asked if I would like to come in for a test drive. I informed him that I live almost 5 hours away and would only be making the trip if I were to in fact purchase the car. He understood and all dealings were done via email. I was looking at a specific vehicle with specific options and informed him of another one at another dealership that was $7000 cheaper than theirs. I asked if he could meet that price. He came back with a WRITTEN $5000 reduction (still $2000 above the other) but informed me that the other car didn't have as many options and that it had actually been in an accident. I was impressed that he did his homework and was going to purchase through him. The next day I tried multiple times to contact him to let him know I'd be making the trip up to purchase. I figured maybe he was off that day, so I asked to speak to the sales manager. I spoke to him and told him of my situation and let him know the WRITTEN/agreed upon price via email. He even told me at that time (when I asked) that there may be a little more wiggle room on price. I wanted exact amount with tax, title, and license so I could arrange a check from my lender to bring up. He then changed his tune and stated there was no way they'd sell me that car for the price his salesman quoted. He was going to look in to it and call me back. Dan called me back and apologized stating he "mistyped" the price. I then asked if they would honor that since it was in writing, he said no, and I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was rude and basically told me to buzz off. I informed him that I felt as if they expected me to drive 5 hours and then when I got there they were going to let me know of the "mistake". I feel as if this is their tactic with out of town clients and I'm not impressed with the fact that they weren't willing to even meet me somewhere in the middle to make things right. Buyer beware and make sure you have a signed contract with sales price otherwise the written quote may go up by $5000 when you show up. read more

I've always been happy with the service dept. It was time for an oil change but since the mileage was close to 100,000, they suggested the maintenance get done at the same time if it was acceptable to me. They gave me a loaner for over night, explained everything that would be done and I picked it up the next morning. Yes, it's more expensive to get work done there, but I feel like they're honest, they know what they're doing and they back their work up. I will definitely keep using them! read more

Sales representative Jim Borchers was solicitous, courteous and patient as I vacillated between various Buick Enclave models. Upon making my decision, Jim spent many minutes obtaining and reviewing paperwork. He personally placed a "dealer" plate on the new car so I could drive it home that evening. The following day, at MY convenience, he placed my vanity plates on the car and gave me a very thorough briefing on all components, including my first Bluetooth.
