Came here on a Monday night and it was relatively empty, so we were seated quickly. We started with the pork combo (pork belly, pork jowl, and pork shoulder) because we heard that they were known for their pork. The combo also comes with a complimentary steamed egg. The pork belly was perfectly grilled, but the meat itself was nothing special - felt like the same quality you could buy yourself from any grocery store. The pork shoulder was a bit too lean for my tastes and the pork jowl was just pure fat. I'd probably just order the pork belly if I had to pick again. We also ordered a serving of the "premium" beef brisket afterwards as well, and it was quite sad. For $34, we got a meager amount of brisket with no marbling. Overall, the prices seemed very expensive for what it was. The decor, ambiance, and service gave very laid back small shop vibes, but the prices were on par with much nicer KBBQ restaurants in Manhattan like Nubiani. I would recommend against going out of your way to come here - if you live nearby and this is the closest KBBQ restaurant to you, then maybe come here on Tuesday when they're running their 2 servings of pork belly for $40 promo. read more

We also ordered Saeng galbi that's not pictured. I was surprise at the price of the meats since it wasn't much cheaper than a kbbq spot located in Manhattan's k-town. I can't tell if the portion is larger here, or that the food was average and I didn't have an appetite for it, so that's why we had leftover. It could be both. I'm a huge fan of brisket, but I felt the brisket here wasn't tasty. It was leaner than what I'm used to. The pork belly was good, but not anything to write home about. We also got the unmarinated galbi, one of my favorite cuts, which also fell flat. I didn't have the same joy and enjoyment for kbbq as I would normally with my experience here. The grill looked very promising when I first saw it thinking that it would add more flavor to the meats, but it didn't really do much. The steamed egg also looked good in pictures, but was kind of bland and average. There were only 2 sauce options here: ssamjang (fermented soy bean) and salt in sesame. I would've liked a soy sauce & vinegar sauce. The banchan was average as well. I really only ate the pickled onions and the marinated onions. I probably won't revisit since it's a journey for me from Manhattan and I feel there are better places in the city that will bring out my excitement when eating kbbq. The ambiance is kind of budget but the service and food here are fantastic. The meats here are marinated well and great quality. Pork belly and kalbi were top notch. I loved this place so much!! The owner is so kind and although we had to wait for a bit, it was worth it. I would recommend coming early (at around 5pm for dinner) or trying to book a reservation. There aren't that many tables and it is quite popular. When i went with my family, we had to wait about 30-45 minutes but I believe it was worth it. The food was delicious and the owner is sooo friendly. It was good vibes all around and the interior is also cutely decorated. You can tell this place is popular by the willingness of people to wait outside the restaurant despite there being other Korean restaurants around that are near empty. To be completely honest, I go to Mapo next door when I want the best kalbi, and Tong Sam Gyup Goo Yi for pork belly. However, when I'm looking for an overall KBBQ restaurant that does both meats well and have good banchan, I come here. With that said, I'm not a big fan of their Kalbi Tang (Beef Short Rib Soup). Meat quality is just as good, but the soup flavor is not to my liking. Seafood Pancake is decent and Spicy Rice Cake with Cheese was okay too. Knowing that it was going to be quite a drive, we stopped by for a personal size pizza snack at gruppo. While walking here, we noticed this restaurant sat in between a ton of Korean restaurants. Being one of many that were packed, I always wondered how people decide where to go. We entered and luckily there was one table open. We placed our order and was pleasantly surprised by their speed. Everything came out so quickly. They started cooking right away. The Side dishes flooded the entire table. I don't think I've ever seen so many options. I was amazed by the sheer volume and variety. We canceled our rice order and stuck with 2 beef dishes and the seafood pancake. Mind us, we tend to eat a lot with our usual being 3 meat dishes, seafood pancake, soup and rice. After seeing and smelling everything on the table our appetites sparked and we felt so hungry. We ate so fast and couldn't even finish our food. Seafood pancake was crispy and not too flourly/doughy. Great portion of every ingredient. Beef was very flavorful. Egg was a tad salty. All side dishes were addicting. This is truly a hidden gem in Queens. The marbling on the meat is just perfect where it's not too fatty or lean and the pork belly gets fried perfectly. Like cmon look how yummy those photos look!! The banchan, seafood pancake and Japchae are all also equally as amazing. I'm a regular and tend to order these same items but I'm 100% sure all the other items on the menu are chefs kiss . Second, the owner is SO FRIENDLY. He's very warm and welcoming and definitely knows how to do business. Very nice man and down to earth. The food is excellent but what made me a regular customer was the service he provides. I will forever come here!!!!! One of the best experiences we've ever had at a Korean restaurant. My husband and I love Korean food but we often get confused with the menu. I think it's a little pricey for the quantity of meat pieces and small portions of bonchons and, although not their fault, parking is tricky in this area. Came here for dinner on a weekday - the place was empty when we got here around 6:30, but it was raining and people slowly trickled in while we were eating so I'm guessing the weather contributed to it and their regulars usually come a little later. The service was relatively quick and the food was really delicious. If you only order one serving of meat, they bring you the meat grilled already - otherwise they have grills on every table as a typical KBBQ place does. The seafood and galbi were pretty tasty. I thought both were made pretty traditionally and don't have any complaints here. I'd definitely order either again! The naengmyeon was really fresh and the portion was pretty large. They also have the option to have the noodles be green tea flavored (I don't go to many places that serve naengmyeon so I'm not sure if this is typical) and I thought that was an interesting option.
