Beef brisket cooked to a tender perfection
    Denise C.

It was my first time at Jongro BBQ, and I was excited to try it. I am always up for an amazingly authentic dining experience. I was there for an early dinner and we were seated immediately on a weekday. The staff couldn't be nicer as we placed our order for a soft tofu stew, Korean steamed egg dish and Korean seafood kimchi pancake to start. We decided on a large mixed protein platter which had a generous amount of USDA Prime beef galbi and brisket and premium pork belly along with thickly sliced king oyster mushrooms. We were presented with a nice variety of small vegetable side dishes better known as banchans. It was a perfect accompaniment to the meal. Our server was very attentive and kindly refilled our vegetable sides several times throughout dinner. He also changed our grill grates and expertly cut up and sliced the various cuts of meat presented to us. It was done with so much attention to detail, that we felt as if we were the only table he was tending to. You'll be blown away and completely satisfied here. It's definitely a treat for all the senses, it's not only visually appealing but oh so delicious! Check out their website for a sneak preview of what to expect!

It's always a great time with the service and the food here!! Had the large combo and also try the finger meat tonight.. a bit sweeter than any other meat but still great flavor.. the place is also top. They make you feel at home and you ain't cooking that's the best part lol

Table of 11 of us with lots of food!!

Tasty Food, But Turn Down the Rap, Please! As a non-meat eater, Yep Jongro BBQ isn't exactly my dream restaurant--but I have to admit, the tofu stew pot was surprisingly delicious. It was flavorful and comforting, and the banchans (those tasty Korean side dishes) were all fresh and really enjoyable. I've tried the japchae before--it was okay, but I've had better elsewhere. The vibe here is energetic to say the least--rap music playing loudly and lots of chatter. It's probably not the best choice if you're dining with elderly guests or anyone sensitive to noise. That said, I did notice they have private rooms for larger parties (8 or more), which might be a good option if you're looking for a quieter space. While my own food options were limited, the rest of my group--full-on carnivores--loved everything and left very happy. So if you're a meat lover or dining with folks who are, this place will likely hit the spot!

If you're in the mood for bbq without having to grill yourself this is the place to go. The beef platter was fresh and cooked to the right temperature of choice. The scallion pancake was good not as packed with seafood like other Korean places I've been too. Bonus, parking is available too (in a strip mall) Friendly service, they kept checking in on the cooking and water refill. I like how they cut up the meat for easy sharing. Traditional Korean BBQ place with communal cooking and eating style with the grill on the center of table. I'll be back with other friends and family.

Update - their quality of meat is so much better (didn't think it could get better) and they also have a vanilla ice cream! My daughter was thrilled and all The workers interacted with her so it always make us feel welcomed. As noted before the restaurant is big and clean and there's parking. 10/10 service 10/10 food

Great atmosphere , our servers were always around to cook the meat for us. Last but not least the food was delicious. The reason why it's not 5 star is because it's really not a good place if you have a party of over 8 people . We had 8 adults and 4 kids and we were so cramped on their biggest table . We didn't even have anywhere to put our clothes . They should make hooks on those wooden dividers so people can hang their jacket or purses.

Always a good time. Staff is friendly and good is good although prices have skyrocket.

These are we lame sides we got.

Well, let's just say I've been to much better Korean BBQ. We had a party of 3, and we each ordered simple things: cow tongue, marinated beef and another beef: including 18% tip, it all equalled to 144.00. That's absolutely insane, they didn't give us much beef because we were all still starving after we left. It was good, but it wasn't 144.00 good. Their sides they give you are terrible, the worst choices I've ever had for Korean BBQ. Check out my photo - those are the stupid sides we got. What kinda place is this? And they have their water in a plastic tupperware, it honestly looks so dirty I tried not to think about it as I was pouring my drink. I'm a smaller person, and their two stall bathrooms are so tiny you can barely walk into the stall itself and close the door behind you. I will say they were quick with service, but that's about the only thing they had going for them. Just so you know if you've never been here, this place is on the 2nd floor - which you have to take an elevator. So don't think you're going to find it off the street. I'm good - there was other Korean BBQ places on the block I could have used my money on. Better yet, Flushings not too far away.

Came to this restaurant with a group of co-workers for dinner. We ordered family style, it was a very good amount of meat for all of us. We definitely ha a great time enjoying this delicious meat with a lot of sides offered. Service was very good as well, guys were very attentive in everything. My favorite which is not in the pictures was the Seafood Pancake, highly recommended if you like seafood.

Definitely one of the better kbbq spots that's not ayce in flushing. The cuts were really good just a bit expensive in my opinion but I don't think you can find these quality of cuts anywhere in flushing. Overall, the food was really good the the service was really nice. Definitely a place to go with friends and families.

    Beef Short Ribs Soup
    Angela L.

The beef short rib soup here is sooooo good and flavorful! It was pretty cheap from what I remember too I've never been to a place where they gave huge bones with the meat still on it. I think this place is known for BBQ but I didn't feel like getting bbq that day. This soup is a must! It wasn't too salty and the meat was tender. Perfect with a bowl of rice

It was indeed a verrrry hot day so I appreciated how the AC was absolutely blasting. I almost did a double take before walking in because I genuinely cannot do hot soup in this weather if there's no AC. Thankfully, it was nice and cool inside, which made the meal that much better. Everything was so thoughtfully done. The banchan were dangerously good (I could've kept eating them forever), and the collagen gomtang was rich, comforting, and perfect to share. My friend and I split one bowl, and they still brought us two bowls of rice, which was sooooo thoughtful. The staff is amazing. My friend and I definitely got carried away catching up, yet not once did we feel rushed. Instead, the staff kept making sure we were comfortable and even offered us more banchan. That level of hospitality is so rare and honestly made the entire meal feel extra special. Also... please do yourself a favor and order the Jeju Tangerine Fizz. It was hands down one of the most refreshing drinks I've had this summer and paired perfectly with the meal. Amazing food, incredible hospitality, icy-cold AC, and an experience that made me want to come back before I even left. 1000% recommend!!!

This place is a little of a hidden gem and not quite like other Korean restaurants. But no gatekeeping here! We also came at a weird lunch time around 2pm so it wasn't really busy and we were seated right away. Once you enter, you'd quickly notice the very detailed beautifully hand painted murals on the walls and an abundance of painted butterflies. The attention to detail is impeccable! The menu is also very cute and I'm guessing handmade. It was pretty detailed and we appreciated learning about each dish before deciding what to order. We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! I'd come back to try their other food options in the future!

There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Don't come if you're in a rush.

Geo Si Gi is highly known for their signature gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup). Ordered the Gamjatang & Grilled Mackerel Set - $52.95 (for 2) The gamjatang is perfectly spiced - bold and warming without overwhelming heat (and trust me, my spice tolerance is low!). Instead of the usual red kimchi, they load it with long strips of green napa cabbage, cut right before your eyes before serving. Some bean sprouts, watercress on top, with tender potatoes, chewy rice cakes, and massive pork bones that fall right off - so meaty and flavorful. Served with a side of sweet mustard sauce. Pure comfort on a cold day. The grilled mackerel was enormous and incredibly plump - way bigger than expected! As an oily fish, it's rich and satisfying, but we barely made it through a third. If you're a mackerel fan like me, it's a must-order. . Banchan were simple and homey: nothing flashy, just solid classics. Bonus: it comes with fluffy steamed egg (jjim) that rounds out the meal perfectly. I can eat an entire bowl of rice with just the steamed egg . This set was massive for two - we left with about 1/4 of the soup and 2/3 of the fish! Pro tip: Save some broth and ask them to make fried rice with it at the end. Game-changer. . Highly recommend for hearty, soul-warming Korean food in Flushing!

A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.
