Happened upon this little gem of a boba spot on a Wednesday afternoon shortly after running our morning errands in the area. Living in the 626, my partner and I have admittedly grown tired of the nearby shops - Half&Half, The TEA, and Feng Cha to name a few - due to their inconsistency with the boba and flavor of the tea - so much so that we've been forced to find our next venture ( so far, that being frozen yogurt ). I'm happy to report that the boba here is very soft and fresh, which paired superbly with my jasmine green milk tea which had the perfect balance of milk and tea - not heavy handedly poured like so many other shops. My boba fiend of a partner, who got the lychee green tea, was delightfully impressed with the flavor of her tea. The ambiance is very calm, with gentle music playing in the background with bench seating lines the walls opposite the glossy white order counter, perfect for study sessions or quiet catch ups with small groups of friends. Tommy, who introduced himself as the owner, was very welcoming and made sure to clarify with us aloud what our drink orders were, including our desired sweetness level. Definitely worth making the drive out here to try this corner spot. read more

Yum! Looks like we found our new boba spot. The owner Tommy was incredibly friendly. Not only did he give us phone accessories but he also gave us the remainder of our taro smoothie. Love these reusable cups as well! AC, parking (on the left of the store and on the street) very friendly and fast service. Lots of seating too to study, work or catch up with a friend! Solid Boba store in Pasadena that's easy to miss! We were welcomed right after walking in. I ordered the Haicha Black Tea and tried the Jasmine Green Tea with a friend. Black tea could be a little bit stronger, but it tasted great! It wasn't too sweet even though we ordered 100% sweetness by accident. I'm not sure if the tapioca was stored in a warm container (like instant pot) but I felt it could use more time soaking in warm honey or something like that. I think the front could do away with the small table decor and the back area could use some better warm lighting. read more

I think the only thing was how much we had to wait since the owner is by himself but because we waited for a while he gave us a 4 in 1 phone/airpods charging station, which was very considerate of him. Parked on Harkness and planned to walk around the corner to grab a banh mi. On the way there, we passed by HaiCha. A smiling, super friendly gentleman inside waved at us to enter. I told him we would stop by on the way back. And so we did. Tommy, the owner, greeted us warmly and enthusiastically when we entered the store. I asked for recommendations and he stated that the roasted high mountain oolong tea was delicious. He also recommended a snack of fish balls and rice to accompany the tea. Even though I was full from banh mi, I could not resist Tommy's enthusiasm and went ahead with the order. The tea was refreshing and hearty and paired so well with the fish balls and rice. Everything was simply delicious! We engaged with Tommy in lively conversation in which we talked about our families and our backgrounds. We felt like we were visiting a good friend at home. Tommy was so welcoming and open. Our visit turned into an unexpected delight. HaiCha's location is easy to pass by, but I strongly recommend that you stop by and check it out. Tommy will treat you well, and he obviously crafts his teas and his snacks with lots of love and care. We also loved the soft music playing in the background. We left feeling nourished and upbeat. Pasadena doesn't sleep on their cuisine game, but neither does it sleep on their cafes. HaiCha is a wonderful shop tucked away in a small corner nearby a school. I would love nothing more to visit again with my friend, but unfortunately, we both were not from the area. So here I am writing this review also as a reminder to stop by next time me and someone else are in Pasadena again! The interior is probably some of the best I've seen in a milk tea cafe. On top of that, the owner does his best to make sure you are welcome-- he's the only one handling the store, so props to him! The cafe acquaints you with a homely and antique decor, and it's nothing like your typical modern milk tea shop. It's quiet and the perfect place to relax or do work. On top of that, the drinks are probably some of the best milk tea I've had. Me and my friend both got the HaiCha signature drink. There was more flavor packed within the tea, and less sugar bombs you'd find in a bigger chain milk place. You can tell the owner really knows what he's doing making the drinks. read more

There are many options for boba and tea drinks; you can order in person or using the touch screen. I enjoyed the taro smoothie with brown sugar boba. Tommy is so friendly; he sincerely aims to exceed customer expectations. On our visit we received multiples gifts of phone chargers and hand sanitizer. this place is amazing! i got a red guava fruit tea with 75% sweetness and lychee jelly and it was so yummy. the owner was also so extremely nice and welcoming! when we arrived he was actually outside talking with some other customers (who only had great things to say about this place) and he still made sure to say hello and make us feel welcome. the atmosphere inside is also so calming and peaceful! it's a nicely lit, clean space and the music is very relaxing. highly recommend if you're looking for a new tea place and i will definitely be back :) read more

If I had a choice, I prefer the offerings at 3CAT in Arcadia for mango drinks; however, I think this is a great spot on a hot day in Pasadena.

The most welcoming and friendly boba shop I've ever visited! Tommy, the owner, greeted me with such warmth and excitement, instantly putting a smile on my face. He went above and beyond, offering thoughtful gifts like hand sanitizers and a phone charger--it was such a kind gesture! But it's not just the hospitality that shines--the milk tea is amazing! My personal favorite is their house milk tea at 25% sweetness with extra grass jelly. The grass jelly, made in-house, has a slight firmness that I really enjoy. We got the Peach & Lychee Green Tea, strawberry smoothie, and the snacks the owner had available -- everything was super delicious and the boba was the perfect texture!!! I loved the snacks, and got some for my mom too. Aside from the deliciousness of the drinks and snacks, I have to mention how friendly and funny the owner, Tommy was. I had a great experience at Hai Cha! The iced latte was smooth and had the perfect balance of rich coffee and milk. It was refreshing and delicious without being overly sweet. This place is truly fantastic, and the service is the best I've ever experienced. The owner, Tommy, is incredibly friendly and welcomes you with enthusiasm as soon as you enter. Went here with a friend for the first time this afternoon to try out new Boba places, and this spot did not disappoint. I had the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and the drink was very good and was done quickly. The shop overall had a very cozy vibe and the owner Tommy was very sweet and enthusiastic. Out of all the Boba places around Pasadena City College, this one stands out as underrated and deserving of more attention. Great tasting boba, you can taste the refreshing tea and the milk teas are easy to drink, doesn't leave a coating in your mouth like other places. They use 100% real taro. No syrup. No powder. On top of that, even compared to other places which use real taro, this is the best iteration of the drink I've had. Subtly earthy and only slightly sweet, creamy, even with oat milk. An incredible drink. The vibe is relaxing and nice. Service is solid to great, depending on who is working. The owner is very kind!!! Seating is pleasant. Parking is the only issue since the city metered everything, but if you're grabbing a going, try the Total Wines or Target lot. You'll be fine. We ordered from a screen; call me old fashioned, but I like being greeted and the place wasn't busy enough to justify such a streamlined experience. We ordered the original waffle with vanilla ice cream. It took about 10 minutes as we entertained ourselves with the claw machine and got lucky - twice. The waffle was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a distinct fortune-cookie flavor. It was delicious, and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We did not get a filling nor try the delectable appearing chocolate waffle - next time! Prices were elevated - $8 for the waffle and $2.50 for the ice cream (complete with whipped cream and chocolate syrup), but the unique product was absolutely delicious. While my undergraduate career was 20 years ago, I really can appreciate a place like this. Were I a student at PCC, I would simply live at this establishment. There's very limited parking in the back and a lot of nearby residential streets have "no parking" signs, so finding a spot can be a little annoying. The shop itself is a decent size and definitely seems popular with students hanging out, studying, or working on assignments. Personally though, the atmosphere didn't feel especially warm or cozy to me compared to some other boba shops I've visited. The layout also felt a bit narrow, which was difficult navigating with my son's stroller. That said, what the shop lacked in atmosphere for me, it definitely made up for with the drinks and food. I ordered a 16 oz jasmine milk tea and even though I had to pay extra for boba (which brought the total to almost $5.50), the drink itself was honestly pretty good. I was also hungry, so I tried the pork buns, which ended up being tasty and surprisingly filling. You get four for around $13.
