I used to come here regularly when it was a one-woman business, and she was really great; and today I went in for a cut with the new-to-me staff (a male manager + 2 female workers). I'm mixed-race with Asian features but with naturally curly/wavy hair, and I had been growing it out for around a year. I brought several reference photos of the shorter style and silhouette that works with my natural hair texture. There was plenty of length and volume for them to work with. I make every effort to be a good customer because my husband was a stylist and taught me all the things he appreciated from clients, such as reference photos, using terminology that stylists understand, even using drawings to illustrate the cut/style from different rotations. The woman looked at the reference photos, and I told her that I prefer this kind of messy, punk style of medium-length bob because it works with my hair texture. I have cowlicks all over the place too, which is complemented by the messy style. She proceeded to comb out my curls, then blow dry and cut them. And then she kept blow-drying my hair with high heat to force it to be straight, and it looked so bad, as my natural texture was clearly rebelling. I was so disappointed, and, because of the shorter length, I switched gears and drew a basic angled/wedge cut and asked to please just cut it that way instead. She cut some more, then forced it to be straight again with even higher heat, and the result was just a shorter version of the original bad cut she gave me. At this point, I was so sad and asked to use their bathroom, where I wet my hair to get some of my natural texture back and tried to pin it with my barrettes that I was wearing earlier. I was near tears, and then the male manager asked if I was okay, and I said I was trying to be. He offered to fix it, and I sat down in his chair. He told me that the reference photos wouldn't work with my hair because it has to be "designed" that way by curling some of the sections. I told him that my hair is already naturally curly, so he told me that since my curls start at the root, then I would need to get a straight perm because the photo shows a "designed" style that's not my texture. Then he said that style wouldn't work anyway because I don't have enough length. He recommended cutting off more length, and I said that's fine since that's all that could be done. I was really near tears at this point because it's literally my hair texture that I clearly walked in with that I had been growing for around a year to give a stylist plenty to work with. I told him that I don't ever blow-dry my hair, because air-drying works better with my texture, and I just wanted a style that works WITH my curls and waves, not force it to be straightened. And the "designed" style in the reference photos is basically my natural morning hair - which is why I brought the photos in the first place, because I told him that my hair routine is easy: just wash and go. He cut my hair shorter, and now it looks kind of like a pixie cut that's grown out some. I was tearing up when I looked in the mirror. He said he wouldn't charge me the $25 for the cut, and I offered him $20 for trying to fix it. After some back and forth, he really, really wanted me to keep my money, and I thanked him again for trying, and I let him know that I know my hair will grow back. When I got to my car, I cried. I cried all the way home, and I cried some more when I went inside and told my husband about getting 3 haircuts just now. When I showed him the reference photos, he said, "You've had this haircut before -- that's your natural texture. It's not hard to do a bob haircut -- or a wedge cut -- with your texture." It's now 2am, and I'm in bed feeling so horrible about the three haircuts and having my hair forced to be straightened unsuccessfully and not at all what I asked for, and for wasting a year's worth of growth with virgin hair: no dye; no blow-drying, no heat. Until my hair grows back, I'm stuck with a haircut that I dislike so much I don't even want to look in a mirror, truly. I'm so sad and disappointed by this experience. Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I am so upset. My long thick hair was butchered today by someone who didn't speak or understand English. Why would you let a customer sit in the chair of someone who pretends to understand you when they don't. I just wanted layers and curtain bangs. She cut off all my hair I was growing for nearly 2 years and all I want to do is cry. This was the most devastating hair experience of my life. I thought it was time to finally cut my hair so I just came in for a quick trim. I have long thick hair and she said it would be $20. Pretty reasonable prices. I didn't have an appointment but she takes walk ins. I waited around 10 minutes and she helped me out. I asked for layers and to have around 4 inches off. She work pretty quickly but the layers didn't seem very even. Each side the layers were a bit off but she did cut it the length I wanted. Also, really affordable and they actually have progressed with the times and accept credit cards especially for us millennials who never carry cash. Just make sure to consider that she does take a merchant fee hit when running the cards so be mindful of that when tipping. But you'll be more than satisfied with your cut. I mean I'm not a stiff when it comes to precise details of my haircut, but I also like it to be clean and faded correctly. Michelle and her barbers all do really well for me. I always look sharp when walking out of there. I wanted balayage/ombre with a tiny trim. My hair is shoulder-length. I showed Michelle the picture and she said she could do it. Yay! I was in and out in an hour and it was super simple. The price for a trim was a little steeper than I had hoped (just wanted like 1/4 of an inch off the bottom layer to get rid of dry ends and it was $20), but Michelle was super sweet and did a nice job. Michelle is amazing! I was super nervous to get my haircut since I've never been here and wasn't sure if she could cut it the way I wanted. I wanted it to be shoulder length and I showed her a picture to copy. I told her I wanted some layer because my hair is so thick. She asked if I wanted high, shorter layers or low layers and I said low layers. One thing I have to complain about is that she charges extra for a blow dry, so i couldn't really tell what the end result looked like since my hair was wet. So I drove straight home to blow dry and see if it was the cut I wanted. I was surprised she did a good job and I loved it! She was working really quick too which shows how skilled she is. My shampoo and cut probably only took 30 minutes altogether! The other day I curled my hair to see how it would look and I loved it even more! Not sure if I can trust her yet with dyeing my hair, but for haircuts I will definitely come back! :) Just make sure to get the haircut from Michelle and not her other employee. read more

Plus the 100s of bobby pins in my hair that didn't do anything to support the so called hairstyle she did. I went home to end up removing the make up and having someone at home to do a wayyyy better Job and fixing the nest of bobby pins in my hair and making it look duable. Michelle has always been very pleasant & she is great at cutting hair. My mom has been going to her for about 2 years & she's cut my hair a few times. I've always been satisfied. This past time that my mom went she planned to get her usual with Michelle, & like always she tries to juggle several clients at one time & if she can she'll pass it to her employee. Who she's training, who knows for how long, but is the worse. (Yes she's the same lady other people have complained about) So my mom happens to get her & she colors her hair & recommends a shine coating that costs $20. (don't recommend because it did nothing to her hair) My mom goes with it. When she's done she still has a lot of gray hair & tells that lady & she goes it's ok... my mom is like no it's not ok you need to fix it. Again she says its ok. So my mom just let it go. So when she comes home (I wish I had taken pictures), I was so disappointed with what I saw that I made my mom go back later that week to get it fixed. Fast forward to when we went back. Michelle started saying that she had warned her that the color which happened to be lighter then the one she usually gets, would leave her with some gray hair. This never happened because Michelle didn't do the coloring. Lol So my mom called her out on that. Then she realized it. Frustrated, I tell Michelle, why would she pay so much for a half ass job? The point is to get rid of the gray hair, do you really think it's ok to send a customer home like that? It sucks because she wasn't the one who did her hair but it's crappy to know that she would hire someone with such lack of skill. Mind you my mom kills it with a $7 box of Garnier, but not the point. She didn't apologize on her employee's behalf & simply said that my mom could come back another day. My mom's like that's fine I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. What do you know, then she makes time. Pretty ridiculous. Another time... There's a stamp card she gives out, my mom has 2. 1 is about a row & a half in, the other card completely filled for a free cut. I tell Michelle I want to use it & she says it has to be used on a next visit. Why when my mom is already paying for her haircut & color? She then tells me to have a seat in the styling chair. This is my second time going here. First time I called and made an apt. Came in. No other customers were there. Got a hair cut right away. This time I called made an apt. Came in on time. Both ladies were finishing up other customers so I sat down and waited. A teen age kid walked in and sat down. One lady was doing another ladies curls and getting her ready for the dome hair dryer. Michelle just finished up a hair cut. When she was done she called me over. I got up and started walking over. Then she asks the teen kid what he was here for. He said just a hair cut "but if it's going to take long I half to go". Michelle said oh no it's not going to take long. He said "no it's ok I'm actually not supposed to be here. I just dropped in" and he was about to leave. (btw the kid was not being rude.
