I am new to the area and had been looking for a hairdresser because I had roots that were probably 4 in Long and I needed them redone plus I had some orange spots in my hair from where I had colored my hair myself. Everywhere I went quoted me outrageous prices to get it fixed. Then I contacted Melody for a free consultation. She did my hair for a third of what other people had quoted me and it looks absolutely amazing! She takes her time to get you what you are wanting and you can tell that she loves what she does and puts time and care and to doing your hair so that you get the result that you're looking for! She said the cut was 65 and her website claims highlights are 45 for new clients- could be SLIGHTLY more. I got a cut with highlights and she told me my grand total was 260. She curled it so I couldn't see the mistakes before leaving. I tipped her 40. Still in shock over how much "slightly more" meant in my particular case. After I wash it and style it on my own a couple days later, because I actually hate curly hair, I prefer mine straight, the whole travesty unfolded. Choppy layers, and streaks that you might see from someone right out of school. And yes folks I paid 300 for this. I kindly reached out to her hoping initially that she may offer to fix it since she brags and speaks highly of her work in color correction surely she doesn't want me walking around with her name on this. She had some nothing but ignore me. Nothing. People have asked me who did this to me instead of compliments. It's truly humiliating. My Mother's Day gift to myself was my first hair cut in over a year. Do not do what I did. Stay away from here. read more

I will start this review with the one positive thing that the stylist was a nice woman. After that it all went downhill. The color that was chosen was a good color but the application on my hair is a horrible job. It looks as if it has already grown out, it is splotchy in spots, the haircut I received my mom had to straighten it out at the ends. This is the poorest job I have ever had on my hair. It cost me $260 with a $45 off coupon for a trim and highlights. I highly recommend that you stay away from this stylist! She is also very rough with your hair. read more

I had had long, thick, very curly hair that reached my lower back. All I wanted was a two-inch trim to neaten up the ends and get rid of any split hairs. That was it - no frills, no nonsense. A month and a half ago, I got a haircut from Melody. She gave me a deep conditioning treatment, which was very nice! What was not so nice was her insistence I get layers. She found magazine pictures and showed me two or three different hairstyles. I told her they looked very nice, but I was not interested in layers. She pushed it a little, so I said these exact words: "Just trim my hair first, please, and then I'll decide whether or not I want layers." What did she do? She gave me layers. The most she cut off was six inches - I went home and measured. I could not believe it. It is significantly shorter than what I wanted, and noticeably so. I kept getting comments on it. The lady who cut my hair was very nice, but DO NOT GO HERE. The cut was extremely choppy and some parts were long and others very short. She didn't even part my hair to cut it. When she was cutting my hair I could feel the hair ripping and her scissors were obviously cheap and not great quality. Plus, the color she put in my hair was mixed very haphazardly, it seemed like she was more eyeballing it than getting a precise color. Halfway through she made another batch of color that didn't even seem to match. Overall, although the lady was polite, the haircut/color was very bad and I do not recommend this salon. read more
