I am new to the area and needed a new stylist. I have tried a couple of salons. I prefer a quieter environment, as opposed to a salon I visited, where five people worked on my hair. They had a different person for everything. Another challenge I have had is leaving a stylist and not feeing as though I have been to the salon...wierd. But I always had to go home and style my hair. First time customer of Shaay's and I was super satisfied and just amazed at the job she did! It was my first time getting a Brazilian Blowout and with kinky curly hair like mine, I was a bit worried about the process, but Shaay made me feel so comfortable and talked me through how the blowout process works. She also knew what was best for my hair type. Her room is very comfortable and the conversation was great! All in all, she just made me feel super comfortable from the beginning to the end. With having a tight curl and thick head of hair, once she was finished, the results were amazing! I haven't been able to take a picture of myself as of yet, but I will update this review with a picture once I've done so. Pricing was great also. If I could give this place negative stars, I would certainly do so. Initially, I showed Shaay a picture of what I wanted the results to look like. Then, she dyed hideous orangish blonde strands in the front of my hair. I had to ask her to redo it and the results looking nothing like the ombré that I had asked for. Shaay was also rude to me when I said that I was unhappy with the results. Not to mention that Shaay was also unprofessional as she showed up 30 minutes later to a confirmed set appointment. I essentially paid $250 to get a haircut as the color that she did was not even visible except when I stand in extremely bright light. If the color was not going to show up, she may as well not have dyed my hair at all and my hair would have been healthier without all the bleach. And I would have saved a lot of money. I will not be coming to this place ever again. Update to the comment by Shaay. The amount was paid in full ($250 for hair cut and ombré) which did not produce the results desired at all. The receipt is there as well to prove this. Even though the results were completely off from the desired ombré (there are pictures of what it was supposed to look like and what she did which can be posted as well), the amount was still paid in full because the client respected the time that Shaay put into the work no matter how it turned out. Additionally, the assumption was made by Shaay regarding FaceTime. The father was only texting because he needed to borrow the car. It had nothing to do with her. She jumped to conclusions and made assumptions. She then proceeded to lecture the client on how she was a grown adult and could not talk to her dad (without any knowledge of what she was talking to her dad about). This was a personal conversation. The client has never been treated so rudely when she has gotten her hair done. The girl left the salon smiling because she is genuinely a nice person and did not want to hurt your feelings. Additionally, this is not her dad writing her review. You are again jumping to conclusions. And the girl showed up 5 minutes late to an appointment delayed by 30 minutes by Shaay. That is hardly a fair comparison. Lastly, if there are pictures posted by Shaay, those pictures are taken where there is a lot of bright light shining on the hair where you can see the ombré. MY HAIR TYPE: My hair is naturally wavy/semi-spiraly. Enough to look weird when I air dry, not enough to look like I have curly hair. I am very picky about who touches my hair. I went to her salon for the first time about a year ago and have been gotten 2 Natura Keratin treatment, 1 chi smoothing treatment, hair color, and several hair cuts. Natura Keratin Treatment: that was my first time every getting keratin treatment and i could immediately see the results. It made my hair smooth, and healthier. The process didn't take long and the results were totally worth it.After the treatment, all my split tends were gone and my hair stopped falling. I got this done twice! Chi Smoothing treatment: I did not notice much difference between both, the only big difference was that my hair looked healthier for longer, they look shiny when I straighten them, but they have gotten kind of frizzy again. I feel like Natura controlled friziness for longer. it also changed my hair color and turned them a little bronze-y and made them look so natural. Hair Color: I really wanted to color my hair brunette but I was always scared what if it didn't look good and/or damaged my hair. I trusted shay with it and showed her a picture of the color I wanted. I have t be honest, I was not disappointed at all! Hair Cut: I always had long hair and was very scared because people had cut them way shorter than I wanted them to be but shay built a personal report with and made sure my hair wasn't longer or shorter than I wanted. I have been going back to her to get my hair cut since. I have also gotten my eyebrows, facial and wax from her, and she is very gentle and it doesn't hurt at all. Shay did a good job with my ombre and gave me the color that I wanted. She was flexible with my schedule and gave me a good deal. Update - after 2 washes, I could see missed strands and the color does not seem consistent or luscious. Shay is amazing! I've been looking for someone for years to cut my hair the way I want it cut and who is close to where I live. I found her! Shay is sweet, kind, caring and takes your opinion and works with it. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she takes her time in styling. I am very picky about how I want my hair to look and she produced the exact results I asked for. I had her trim my long hair and 2-3 days later decided I wanted it shorter with more defined layers. I texted her in the morning and she got me in the same day at an hour that was convenient for me. She had no intention of charging me a second cutting fee but I insisted as it took her time to produce the results I was looking for. I love Shay! read more
