Hello! I've been going to Hair Cuttery in Batavia for a couple years. Flora is amazing, precise, and lovely! Unfortunately, my availability became difficult, trying to juggle multiple medical appt, etc ... Today, I had Nina Flores (Manager) and I was so pleased! She took such good care of me, asked what my vision was, I showed her a picture. She razor cut my whole head. Eons ago I had my hair cut with a razor, so much to my surprise she was excellent, very confident and her skill was amazing. Walked out with short hair, easier to manage. My boyfriend went here for a little trim off everything and they slaughtered him inside there. If you are a man do NOT go here they do not know how to cut men's hair. It looks like a dog viciously tore off chunks of hair. I don't know how this is fixable but holy shit he's so pissed. There was just no reversal to this, we couldn't even say anything. read more

so i had previously made a bad review about here. i went back again today to get my hair braided and once again flora did an amazing job. i was greeted when i walked in which was good. and honestly i had a good experience today. i did notice that flora was running super behind which happened last time i went in. i only waited 10 mins which is no big deal but she had another man come in for an appointment and he waited 30 minutes because she was doing my hair still. i don't at all think that this is her fault. but i do think that this store can do a way better job at scheduling better. i think i was only booked for a 30 min window and they should've given flora more time. so overall it was much better but they definitely need some work on scheduling which can come from management helping. thanks! read more

I've gone here a few times for military cut after my barber has long gone retired. They have great walk-in service and takes less than 15 minutes usually. The staff is fun and vibrant. They can color, cut, wash, style and do most everything a barber does including the small talk. I request (now blonde) Lauren since she does my mo-hawk perfectly. On days when your hair is misbehaving a little fixer and that little "Hey, nice haircut" compliment makes a difference. Update my review. Since going to any Hair Cuttery, there seems to be a bad management practice of taking more expensive coloring and highlights over clients already waiting. It's no longer 1st come 1st serve. Other stylists will sit around and not cut regular customers because of the bigger pay on more expensive packages (even without appt.). This has been done at Haircuttery in North Aurora, Aurora, St Charles, Yorkville and now in Batavia. Just lost a loyal customer. read more

I schedule my daughter's kid cut online. The online system gave me an option to choose 6:45, so I did. We arrived on time. The woman came to the front looking bothered and asked, "what exactly do you want done because we close at 7." I said oh sorry I just chose what the online booking gave me and she said well it shouldn't have allowed you. So I showed her my daughter's hair which is curly and needs to be trimmed in a V otherwise it's heavy and poofy. She said well I don't have time for that, the best I can do is just really quickly cut straight across to get rid of the ends. I said no, if you're just going to rush and not put any care into it I really don't want you touching her hair. She agreed and said ok so do you want to schedule another time? This was very unprofessional, she was more concerned about leaving than honoring the online appointment whether it was an error on their end or not. But to take the attitude of just rushing through any old cut just to get out the door and not really take into consideration what I was asking for just blew my mind. asked for face framing and she gave me horrid bangs also said she needs to wash and dry in order to cut my hair and then charged me $15 extra. kept getting my hair stuck around brush and ripping it out (i have straight fine hair). costs just as much as zanos for worse service. couldn't say anything in person because i was so upset that she had ruined my hair. read more

I have never written a review before but for this place I made an exception. Would give zero stars if I could. Most unprofessional stylist I have ever dealt with. Sat down and tried to explain what I wanted for a haircut. Her aunt walked in, so she just walked away to go see her aunt. Weird but she explained she had been visiting from out of town, so I let it slide. Discuss a very simple fade. Stylist gets out the shears, her friend then walks in. So she stops and yells to her friend to come over. Tells her friend to go in the back to get her phone, so they can discuss some family/work drama. Stylist explains the friend is a former employee. Stylist spends my entire haircut talking to this lady and messes up my hair. I mean uneven, jagged cuts, clunky fade. I thought I was being pranked. I left and will have to find a new place to fix my hair. I will never go back. TL;DR: Unprofessional stylist super jacks up a simple haircut because she was too busy talking to a former employee and, now I have a lopsided, clunky fade. read more

Had an appointment, was ignored when I walked inn and stood at the cashier station to check in,as is normal practice, then snapped at to sit down and wait without being checked in. After waiting 15 minutes and seeing another customer who arrived later than me welcomed back for service, I asked when I would get service and was informed it was going to be 30-45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I would be giving this place a 0 stars if that was an option. I went into the place to get a color before black and i had very faded pink in my hair and brown roots medium brown. The lady that was taking care of me acted like she had NO idea what she was doing. Another stylist told me the color i chose would not cover my pink and that i had to get my blonde and pink bleached and then i could do the color as the very faded light pink would show through a very dark brown. When i asked the stylist why when I have worked in a hair salon before the womans response was " WELL WE ARE THE PROFESSIONALS." I walked out and went to another hair cuttery not to fair and got what i wanted. Plus this place tried to charge me more money. Scam. Horrible and unprofessional people. read more

I walked in today at 1:55 to get a haircut. One of the ladies (long platinum blond hair) said it would be a 15-20 minute wait so I signed in and sat down. While I waited, 2 men walked in around 2:20 and 2:30 (neither had appointments). Both of these men were called up to get their cuts....one after waiting only 5 minutes. Meanwhile I sat there for 50 minutes while they ignored me. When I asked why the men were called before me, they had no good answer and just said they were sorry. What a waste of time. Have you ever seen a 4 yr old who just couldn't sit still and ended up with a cartoonish chop? Way too short on one side, a few patches of long hair remain here and there, uneven back, top of the head goes from 1/2 to 2 inches but not tapered or blended, just patches. Like after an hour of struggling the parents just gave up and said f it. Think of a doll that your sweet 3yr old tried to "style." With her baby safety scissors and a butter knife. That's what I look like after Alex cut my hair. I'm not 4. I'm 43 and I do sit still. Some patches of hair are so short I can either shave my head, or wear a hat for a few months until it grows enough to re cut. I wasn't expecting much from this place and somehow they still disappoint. First, she cut most of the hair dry. Like, no spray bottle or anything. Then halfway through she says we should wet the hair because it's easier to cut. Really? No way! Even my child at 3 would wet her dolls hair before a cut. Common sense folks! It does help! Anyway, then she puts some Mouse in my hair, brushes it and done. Couldn't finish the haircut because she already put product in it. It's sooo bad. Not exaggerating about looking like a 4 yr old. Wow. This place gave me the worst haircut of my life. I asked for a cut in the middle of my neck, and it ended up above my chin. It was uneven in chunks and the back looked like I let my 6 year old do it. I had to go across the strip mall to Zano to fix it, and she did what she could to make it less hideous. Even then she said it would take three more haircuts to have even hair again. Don't try to save pennies going here; you will end up paying double at a salon to fix it. read more

I cannot say enough about the amazing experience I had, from start to finish with Randy, my hair technician! I've been to Mario, Zano's (not to say they're bad) but I pay a fortune and they never seem to listen to what I'm asking for with my color (which is pretty simple). He was curious, fun to talk to and just as importantly, professional and my hair turned out gorgeous! (and I don't say that often!) I'm thankful he took the time to hear me then proceeded to color my hair (including the stubborn gray areas) all over color and foils then toner at the end to achieve that ash/carmel look I was going for. I will most certainly be returning to him directly and highly recommend him for your color needs at half the cost!! (First time visit for me and the whole staff was friendly and seemed to have a great customer bond with the other patrons!) read more

I took my 4 year old brother to get a hair cut 1st thing we asked was if they do line up, and the they said yeah. So we gave it a try... I am going to say I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK they took 1hour just to cut his hair all I asked for was a 2 on top 1 on bottom and fir them to line him up, and this girl was latterly cutting his hair with scissors my little brother usually can seat but after 15-20minutes he started to get anxious and the hairs where bothering him. Well his hair ended up been all messed up they where going to send him always without lining him up, so I said aren't you going to line him up & she said she didn't know how, so here we are waiting for this other lady to finish what she was doing just so she could line the front of his forehead and we left because they couldn't line up the rest.. Worst service I've ever had WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK & they should be glad I paid for that shitty as hair cut I'm a damn good tipper but in this case I gave nothing. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE FOR NOTHING. read more

Maggie has been doing my color for the past 4 years not only does she do an awesome job but her customer service is impeccable, she's very professional and understanding never do I neglected as a customer, I love when I walk in to be acknowledged by the staff there ,I've also seen the great customer service Amy has when it comes to her clients that's one of the most important things you need to keep customers you ladies work great as a team and under pressure...keep up the good work , I am truly sorry that there are people out there that would give haircuttery a bad review because they had to wait... really???? Another AMY fan! I was fortunate to be assigned to her as a walk-in over a year ago and she is my go-to ever since. She is very good at understanding what you want and there are no surprises. Today I asked for a minor change and she implemented it perfectly. I would say it's the kind of haircut you would expect to pay three or four times the price for except I have had $100 haircuts that were not nearly as good.
