Always a nightmare, today is no exception. Wife booked today's appt last week. Got an email this a.m. telling her she had been rescheduled--appt now 30 minutes earlier. Moved things around, got her there at new appt time. Then they tell her that she'll have to wait for 45 minutes. "I'm not good with the computer, I changed your appt by mistake." Wife tells them that this is not ok, and in fact it looks like original appt time must have been messed up, or why would she be waiting 45 minutes for an appt originally scheduled to start in 30 min? At this point stylist rudely interjects, "I'm not going to touch your hair, anyway." Why? "Because you're upset." Well, that's a pretty common outcome if you won't keep the appointments you set with people, I would imagine. Lost our business for life, and we will be sure to steer friends and family away from this sinking ship read more

I love that I can usually get an appointment within an hour after I call!! I love the treatment and results each time. I have also gotten great tips for how to care for my dry scalp. This is my "go-to" location!! read more

Never can get an appointment online, and when I do get one by calling the salon directly and I show up, they suddenly don't have me in the system. So I can't get my hair done. This has been my situation for over a years. They burned their bridge with me. read more

Usually I don't leave review but I felt the need to. several days ago I was in the shop looking to get a hair cut. And I noticed a young child running around spilling chips and jumping all around very disruptive. Also slamming into things. I thought it was a client child but discovered the young child belong to the manager there. After observing I noticed some of the costumers were frowning Because it scared them. This is supposed to be a place of business not only that it's dangerous to have your child running around in such atmosphere. In conclusion this place is very unprofessional so I decided to go somewhere else to go get my hair cut after seeing what I saw. Very trash management. read more

Good haircuts in general. Appointments don't mean anything at this location though. Last time I went, I had an appointment for a trim. This appointment was for any available employee. A little background- I have short hair that that is usually buzzed on a single setting. I waited 20 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start before I left the store without a haircut. In the 20 minutes I was waiting after my scheduled appointment I watched 3 walk-in clients be seated with available stylists. When I politely asked why I was not being helped, I was told that the computer randomly generates a stylists name and assigns you to that stylist. So even though the other stylists were available, I was supposed to wait for one specific stylist. (Remember- I selected a haircut with any stylist available). read more

Deserves ZERO Stars! I called to make an appt with a stylist (Carrie) because the online scheduler was not working. She said she could not see me (even though she had availability online). I explained over the phone what I wanted and Carrie stated another stylist Kelly would be able to help me. I got to the salon and Kelly was standoffish and rude from the beginning. There was also a strong marijuana smell. I showed her the inspiration photos and she took me back to wash and condition my hair. When we got back to the chair she said she could not cut bangs because my hair was "too long". I said okay well I have had short hair so let's just cut it. She cut it up to my shoulders, included layers and angles and cut bangs. She then told me she was not familiar with how to do "beachy" type waves in hair. She said she would try though. She blew dry my hair and burned my scalp multiple times. I did not say anything because I figured my scalp was just sensitive so I let it go. She whips out the curling iron and begins curling my hair. She was telling me a "sob" story - I won't go into details - however, it pulled on my heart strings. When she got to the top of my head, she burned my forehead with the curling iron not once, but twice. Once she was done I had to move my newly cut bangs because they were touching the burns. I said you burned my forehead. She stated she didn't realize and said I (the client) didn't even flinch. Another stylist told her to get me some aloe. I checked out and left her a very generous tip, not because I was happy about the work, but because I felt bad for her. I left and immediately pulled my hair up and cried. The work she did was NOTHING like the picture, she made my hair extremely choppy so I cannot wear it down or it looks like a bowl cut around the middle of my head along with longer hair coming from the bowl cut. Wife and I went in at 5:40pm. The woman served my wife and said there is one person ahead of you, should not be long. My wife was getting a basic cut. The woman did not notice me and left the counter. 5 minutes later another woman notices me and says she is not sure they will have time for me and says they open again tomorrow at 9am. They need an hour and 15 minutes to do three cuts between two stylist? Garbage service. I'll never return, and I was going to be a first time customer. read more

I have the easiest cut in the world, all I need is for the sides and back of my head to be shaved to the skin. After trying to grow it out for 6 months I gave up and went to get it buzzed. Trusted it was done correctly bc how could it not be so I paid my $20 (insane amount for the service but whatever) tipped 20% and was on my way. Got home to find multiple pieces she missed, luckily my husband was able to shave them for me with his beard trimmer but I am really annoyed. Quite literally I could do this haircut if I could see the back of my head. Very very disappointed. read more

We've (my husband and I) been bringing our son to Haircuttery in Glen Burnie for a few years now, the Stylists always do an excellent job on his hair cut/we always have a happy kid when he gets out of the chair & now he doesn't need the bench anymore either. Had an appointment for 12:30 they called at 12 saying they couldn't take me but could maybe take me at 4. That is way too late seeing how I have a wedding to go to and that's why I made an appointment. This is not how a business should be run. I'm a very loyal client to hair Cuttery and never have an issue at my local salon. This salon has mostly bad reviews and now I know why. I had to schedule somewhere else which I'm lucky I was able to do since it's a Friday. read more

Very poor service sums up the experience here. Slow staff, inattentive and unprofessional. We showed up at 2pm and were told 20-30 minutes wait. There were several people in line ahead of us that's fine. There were no seats to sit and wait, so we literally stand right outside the front doors. We let the stylist who checked us in know that we'd be right outside. After 20 minutes someone walks in and is immediately seen. We come inside and they said they didn't see us because we weren't inside the salon. Also said she didn't see us outside. Hey make us wait another 20 minutes. The only redeeming quality of the place is that my wife likes her hair cut here. Her trim took 7 minutes for a 40-45 wait. This isn't professional at all. read more

I had the absolute worst experience at Hair Cuttery, Glen Burnie. First off, I haven't had my hair cut in probably about a year. I've been cutting and styling my own hair. However, I thought with all I have going on I'll just go in and have a quick trim. I walk into the salon. No one greets me at the desk. A woman who works there walks over to me, no smile, no engagement at all, "can I help you?" I say, "Yes, I'd like a haircut." Proceeds to check me in, no eye contact, frowning, grumbling under her breath, gives me no indication of how long a wait will be. Ok. So I sit, and wait. There are two hair dressers outside. The others in the salon are openly complaining about them. One comes in. Looks rough, walks over to the counter, huffing and puffing, looking at the computer for the next costumer. Finally after calling 4 names of people who weren't even there, she says, "Brittani". I stand, follow her, as she says nothing to me. Walks back to the shampoo area. The other woman from the front calls out, "no shampoo!" The woman turns to me with a disgusted look and says, "no shampoo, what am I even doing for you?" At this point, I am boiling. If anyone knows me, they know it takes a lot. I mean, a lot for me to get upset. I was. I couldn't believe the poor customer service. Acting like it was a bother that I was there. I broke, I said, "you know what, you don't really seem into this (meaning her job), I'm done. Worst costumer service I have ever had. Hands down." Walked out. I work in a costumer service driven career too. You don't need to kiss my ass, but you do need to understand that you are there to do a job and make me feel comfortable. I've only gone here once so far, but if things change, I'll be sure to change my review. We went in last minute as an appointment at another place cancelled on very short notice. I needed my daughter's hair done for a ballet recital. I wish I had remembered the name of the stylist. But she did such a beautiful job. My daughter's hair is varying lengths and I find it very difficult to get all the hairs into a style. The stylist got all the hair into a bun to rival anything I've seen on a professional stage. My daughter's hair was beautiful. We didn't have to wait long, as we made an appointment an hour before. read more

This place is pretty good to go to. Hair cuts are pretty inexpensive, and the girls are very good. I normally come to see Ms. Jackie, the master stylist, so it's a little more expensive for me to get my hair done but still far cheaper than most places in DC. read more

Older stylist rolled her eyes when I requested a partial highlight at check in. Then complained to the other stylist about how neither of them wanted to do it. Super unprofessional and rude to discuss a customer in front of them. When you work in a service industry, you shouldn't complain about providing a service that's part of your job duties. Since it was such a huge inconvenience, I walked out and took my money elsewhere. I have been a regular at this salon for over a year, but I will not be returning. read more

Tina is awesome, I love Tina, she has never failed to do exactly what I asked her to do with my hair. Unfortunately, the other two ladies that I have let work on my hair when Tina was too buy - not so much. The first time I ended up with severely damaged and broken hair. The next one (just recently) did what she wanted, didn't bother with the picture I took in of what I wanted - and cut it at LEAST 2 inches shorter than it should have been. I asked for shoulder length, I got chin length bob. No no no, NOT what I asked for. The next time I will wait for Tina, nobody else there will be touching my hair. read more

So I have to go back today and have the manager fix my hair. Sophia butchered my hair. One side is longer than the other I have layers on one side and none in the other and I have no clue what is going on in the back. Didn't get the hair cut I wanted and now I really don't have all that much hair left. I am beyond PO! It looks like she put a bowl on my head and cut it. Don't go here if you want a decent cut. Spend the money and go to a good salon. After the manager tries to fix my hair today...I will never go back to the Hair Choppery! read more

I just got the worst haircut of my entire life. When I was younger I got drunk and cut my hair with kitchen scissors. This hair cut looks so, so much worse. I can't even begin to describe how bad it is. But the customer service is good. I called up there and the manager was really nice and offered to fix it. When I asked to come in about a month after my hair had grown out, she said okay. I may have just had a bad experience with an inexperienced employee but if you plan to get more than an inch or two taken off, go elsewhere. read more

I have come to hair cuttery over the years and have always left dissapointed but yet again I go again one out of convince because they are right down the street but also because I know I might get someone different . I once went for my eyebrows to get waxed and later found wax in my hair on my prom day the other hair salon was able to get it out but it added extra time on an already stressful day . I went back just recently to have my hair dyed and washed . I ended up leaving 5 hours after being there they were having a slow day and the lady that I had was taking forever to take the dye to her station , texting , later I found after I left she had dye all over the back of my neck and on the side of my face which did not come off easily, I've decided after years of going to this location to not make the same mistake I have in the past I will just choose a new location that cares about customer service. read more

I have super thick,naturally curly hair and am very picky about who cuts my hair. I went to the Hair Cuttery to try and see if I could find someone who could do what I needed (lots of thinning). Beverly did a wonderful job and in a timely fashion. I will go back to her for sure. read more
