We went monthly but then were informed our hair stylist was no longer working there. We received a call from the manager who told us she could see us at our scheduled appointment times. We arrived and she washed my wife's hair and cut her hair without asking her what she wanted. Then she told me to take a seat to have my hair washed and passed me off to a young employee to wash my hair. The girl acted as if she'd never washed anyone's hair before. Water nor shampoo never touched the back of my hair. It was bone dry. When I said I was cancelling my appointment, the manager then offered to wash my hair. What was she doing when she should have been washing in the first place? Vaping out back. That's no way to treat a new to you client. This place is poorly managed. We won't be back. read more

Let's just say he was slow, did not do what I asked, insisted he knew what I wanted, scattered all over the salon as I sat and waited for my next step. There's more but I'll stop. I do not recommend him. The other stylists seemed on point so perhaps choose one of them. Plus, the added costs were never discussed with me so my bill was almost $100 in excess. I have visited another location previously closer to home with good results. This location had available appointments so I booked online. After arriving a few minutes prior to my appointment time, I waited 35 minutes my appointment. I would have left but I just drove from 30 minutes away. My "any" stylist was Lydia who I learned is 83 years old. Honestly at first I was taken back but my bad for misjudging based on age without knowing the experience. I was willing to have faith and I wasn't disappointed. She gave me the exact cut I wanted, was a great conversationalist and offered great tips on my hair. Bless her and she gets 4 stars! My issue is the wait! That is a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait, even my doctor is quicker! I understand everywhere is short staffed but don't leave the time open if you cannot accommodate your customers. FYI: the phone is not answered! read more

I made an appointment on line for 5pm At 515pm my stylist told me it will be later as he had another client. Ok I understand that. Another stylist was up at the POS and she said to my stylist " ohh your going to be busy tonite". I went up to the female stylist and asked her if she could take care of me. (It was only an eyebrow waxibg) she told me no, I'm done for the day. I felt discounted by her not making ANY effort to accommodate me. I told my stylist FORGET IT...I will make an appointment at a local business across the street. (The Brow Bar) I hv been coming to Haircuttery at this location for over 15 years. I tip exceptionally well often the price of the service I requested. This location is understaffed and maybe a few employees need sensitivity training on customer service. A great location in Rehoboth Beach, DE. It has plenty of parking & is easily found. It caters to seniors Monday - Wednesday. The technicians are friendly, accommodating & knowledgeable. However, the salon is a dirty mess, not because the technicians don't try to clean but because this location has been neglected. It has none of the curb appeal of other Hair Cuttery's. Why? I had an 8am appointment with Chris who has performed the same service for me on two previous occasions. I mention this fact to outline that what happened today was no mistake but I believe retribution for, in his mind, not having tipped him adequately on my last visit. The price for "Gray Blending" is clearly marked on a poster board right next to his station as costing $61. On the website, it states that "All Value Packages include a Signature Cut". Grey blending is listed in Value Packages list. I wasn't charged $61, which I had been charged on the previous two visits, I was charged $79. When I told him that it was a different fee from last time he remarked that "it was $61 for the coloring and $18 for the haircut". I reminded him a 2nd time that he was overcharging and he was insistent that $79 was the correct charge. I foolishly tipped him an additional $7. The quality of the service I received was subpar, to say the least. He began coloring on the sideburn/side of my head and proceeded to work around the back of my head. More than 6 minutes, yes I timed it, elapsed between when he began and when he finished putting the coloring in my hair. I had to coach him through reducing the overall amount of time to leave the color on to 7 minutes because it was too dark the last time he did the process (10 minutes) After rinsing out the product after 7 minutes, 13 minutes for one side of my head, it was obvious that one side of my head was very dark and the other still had grey around the temples. It looks uneven and horrible. Chris has told me that he has worked at that location for 12 years. If that is true then he requires retraining on the process used with the Grey Blending, mine couldn't look much worse, my scalp is almost black. In addition, if he has been there for 12 years clearly he must know the pricing and charges. There should have been no reason for him to double charge me for the cut. I've had my haircut at a variety of locations by this company and have been happy with the value and quality cuts I have received over the years. While this situation is an outlier, remediation is appropriate. Thank You Tom Moore read more

Late last year I filed a complaint on HC's website after HC ghosted me twice without trying to reach me to reschedule. Someone from HC headquarters i WV called to apologize but had no explanation for what happened. After I posted a review on Yelp HC professed to be interested in my experiences by asking me for my case number. I submitted it to them twice but did not receive a reply either time. The girl I think was to cut my hair was more interested in visiting the daughter of the woman she was cutting and dancing to the very loud music. I walk out 25 minutes after my appointment time.
