No other Salon in our area can compare to the personalization & treatment I receive at Artistic Designs. I have been to several salons in the Rehoboth, Lewes, Millsboro & Milton area since I moved here 15 years ago. Artistic Designs is proficient in technology with scheduling appointments & follow-up with instant confirmations & reminders. I needed a stylist for my wedding & my wedding party. I was unsuccessful with 3 other salons. Moe the owner) "somehow fitted me in" for our wedding trials, and actually delayed her vacation to give us timely appointments. She was amazing. I brought her a photo of what I would like my hair to look like and she did MORE. Whenever I show anyone my wedding photos the very 1st thing they ask is: "Where & who did your hair & makeup? You look stunning!" Moe is extremely polite, kind, patient, "listens" to your requests, makes honest suggestions, but most of all, very talented. She is the ONLY stylist in our area who is certified & trained with L'Oréal and was a teacher & leader in their company throughout the US. Her creative talent speaks for her expertise and is unmatched. In addition she is efficient, prompt and fast. Moe has done my color highlights & cuts for the past 2 years. Christian her assistant is a credit to the salon. He is also a professional who cares about every client, & always brightens my day with his delightful, positive, upbeat attitude. Also, Christine did my wedding makeup application -- it was flawless. She too is patient, talented & very knowledgeable. The best part about Artistic Designs Salon is that I don't need to get "dressed up," & have makeup on to be treated special. Other neighborhood salon's staff look down upon you if you're not "perfectly dressed" in stylish cloths wearing makeup--when you arrive; they treat you disrespectfully. You have to "look great" to be "treated great."' Many, many neighborhood salons are snobby and only treat you well if you come in looking spectacular. At Artistic Designs I come in "just the way I am" (not in my NYC best,) but I leave there feeling beautiful! I have recommended Artistic Designs to my staff, my friends & neighbors. They too have been very satisfied with their results. Artistic Designs a small salon, with a small staff but treats every client respectfully & does spectacular work. Artistic Designs is my last salon stop. My thanks & blessings to all of them. What she received was nowhere close. After the first appointment with Joey, the highlights were barely visible and did not reflect what she asked for. She went back for a correction, and unfortunately the redo was even worse. Instead of a soft, blended, modern color, she left with thin, stripy highlights, visible demarcation near the root/crown, and a dated foil-highlight look that does not resemble the inspiration photos at all. The issue is not that she asked for something complicated or unrealistic. She asked for a natural, dimensional highlight/lowlight look, and Joey simply did not execute it. The correction did not fix the problem -- it created a different one. This was especially upsetting because it was my daughter's first highlight experience, and she was really excited about it. Instead, she came home disappointed and embarrassed by the result. Hair color is expensive, and clients should be able to expect that a stylist will listen, understand the requested look, and have the technical skill to achieve something reasonably close. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Joey at Vogue Salon for dimensional brunette color, highlights, lowlights, or corrective color. The final result was not professional quality, and the redo did not inspire any confidence that the salon knew how to correct it properly.
