I go here to have my haircuts done by Pam Legaspi. I first met her when she was working at a tiny salon in Colma and I've followed her around since then because she's the only one who's been able to give me consistently professional quality and flattering cuts at a reasonable price ($35-$45 with tip). I wear my hair very short, and Pam is able to make it interesting - adding choppy texture and shaping it in a way to suit my face shape. I actually feel like I have a hip/modern style vs. just "boy hair" - now I get comments like, "I love your pixie haircut!" What I love about Pam is that she'll take the time to consult with you and also discuss the best options for a cut and style based on your natural hair texture and how much time you want to spend on fixing it everyday. She also specializes in color/highlighting. The other stylists here are all friendly and I watch them work their magic on their clients - ranging from kid's haircuts to permanents and updos...still, I only trust Pam with my hair and would probably not go back to Hair Definition if she were to move away someplace further. read more

Mon Diokno, Stylist & Colorist extraordinaire - Aside from his great pricing, Mon has the ability to "learn" and "know" your hair instinctively. Mon was recommended to me by a friend who always had great hair and always talked about her regular visits. I haven't been quite as religious about cutting and styling my hair so I don't visit him as often as I'd like, but everytime I do, it's such a wonderful treat for myself. I'm very low key about my hairstyle - I just want to wash it, tussle it , and go. My family/friends have always complemented me after a visit with Mon and notice the subtle, yet distinct haircut/style. Mon's always been able to accommodate last minute appointment requests and understands my request for no hairspray, please! He no longer does up-do's but will style hair for special events. He always seems booked, but because I have such simple needs, he's always able to squeeze me in between appointments. I come here a lot, Sandy is my usual. This place is Great except for the price (including tip) and they never give you what you want. I come out loving my new cut but its never what i wanted or expected. They wash,dry,cut, and style all for one price! its good but a little too pricey for me, But i always end up going there when i can't find anywhere else to go. Their great for men haircuts too! This place is the best. Lots of different hair dressers, that are all different ages and talents, but my go-to person is Chris. I've followed her from her old shop to this place. She does a great job, so friendly and kind, super knowledgeable. I know I can trust her to tell me if something isn't going to look right on me. And best of all, the prices are so reasonable! Definitely not over paying for my hair cuts and colors. She even did my wedding hair and my bridesmaids. I've known about Hair Definition for many years, it was my grandmothers home away from home. The history that I've had with this salon is one that will never be forgotten. I first started going to Hair Definition about six years ago. I went right before my wedding in July as Maria was doing my hair before the big day! From the moment I first knew Maria she was always welcoming, accommodating and even patient with me and my whole family. Maria immediately took me under her wing and has done the best job with my hair! She's been doing my moms hair for over 10 years now and did my grandmas for the same time amount time. When my grandma would attend Maria's salon she was always taken care of. My grandmother had a nickname at the salon, trouble and it lived with her until she passed away in February. Chris is the only person I ever let touch my hair, no one else knows how to deal with this head of thick, frizzy mess I have. The only exception is the life long goddess herself who has always made my hair look it's best every time. She has done every haircut perfectly without me ever directing her.
