Sarah did an AMAZING job on my curly hair! I wanted long layers and a trim. I always hesitate getting my hair cut because people don't do it right and it's always so expensive for curly hair. Only $45 for my hair cut and she cut it dry and washed and styled!! Such a phenomenal job. Definitely will be back and making her my hairstylist for sure! I hadnt had my hair repermed in about a year. I guess it was starting to become an eye sore, because one day My mom told me she had scheduled an appointment at a salon for me near her home now, I'm a big yelper so immediately I started looking for this salon thất was near my moms home as she didn't know the name of it. This was the closest one to her house but it only had a three star review. I was scared shitless to say the least. I texted my mom to cancel the appointment immediately as I have already had my fair share of bad perm experiences, and I wasn't about to have my hair đẳmaged more than it already was. She told me it was a new salon ‍, and I went back on yelp and noticed the reviews were from like four years ago. She also told me she wanted to support the local businesses, and refused to cancel the appointment. Reluctantly, I showed up the following day for my perm. Immediately, I was greeted with much warmth and kindness. Off to a great start. The perm was completed within two hours, which is standard. She was very meticulous about changing out the cotton and towels to ensure none of the chemicals were landing on my skin. The moment I knew this place was legit was by experiencing how they washed my hair. She knew exactly where the base of my hair was and ONLY got water up to that point and never let the water go an inch more. I waited A few days to write this review as I have had experiences with my perm falling out after a few days. My perm is a bit crazy and a little too tight, but that's not her fault. Next time I'll ask for looser curls. But they are good. They are under new management. Please don't be afraid to try them out. Btw, this was the cheapest perm I've gotten my entire life. read more

Adalgisa has been doing my hair for years. She is amazingly talented, hospitable and one of the very few I REALLY trust to do my hair. I'm a natural red head and my hair is unbelievably thick and difficult to work with .. other stylists have made me feel uncomfortable and awkward over it (more times than I can count....) but Adalgisa never ever mentioned it. She is actually the reason that I've been embracing my natural color more than I ever have .. and I've been dying it every color under the sun(except for anything in the red color family) for the past 15 years; Her prices are extremely reasonable; especially considering the service she provides - she'll make sure that you are in love with your hair before you leave her chair. She is flexible with appointment times, especially when my work schedule wasn't. The ladies here are all like family and it's a really laid back and fun environment - you can tell they've all worked together for a long time and that they all love what they do. I really miss this place since I relocated to Ventura county... But I can tell you that you are in AMAZING hands if you decide to (and you should) give this place a try. read more

I had recently moved to Orange and was looking to find a hair stylist nearby. This salon had a groupon type deal going on for a single process color, and I needed to get my roots done, so I figured why not touch up my color overall. I'm a little more picky with haircut or highlights, but I figured a single process color was a pretty safe bet to try out the salon before committing to anything else. I was wrong. So wrong!!! First off, the stylist (Victoria) calls me literally 5 mins before our appointment to let me know she was going to be late. I was already parking, so I decided to not make a huge deal of it and stop for coffee first. She ended up being about 15-20 mins late, which isn't the end of the world, but I would have appreciated more of an apology. She's also not the friendliest or most professional of people. Talked on her phone or with other customers while doing my hair. The salon itself is also not quite what it is billed to be. Basically looks and feels like a Supercuts or Fantastic Sams. And finally, and most importantly, in spite of the fact that I walked in with dark brown hair with lighter highlights, and asked for an overall medium or dark brown...I walked out with pitch black hair!! I knew it wasn't what we had discussed as soon as she began drying it and I saw it in the mirror. Her excuse when I mentioned that it was a lot darker than we had discussed? That because I had a deal that didn't include color correction or toner, she wouldn't be able to get my hair lighter. That is wrong for multiple reasons, and basically just shows her lack of skill as a hairdresser. I can understand if I was trying to go drastically lighter, but the color I wanted is something that I have had done many times before, and quite easily. I've also had boxed color that turned out better!! She basically said she could do one color, then just mixed her color wrong and then didn't know how to/or care to fix it. At that point, it was too late for me to do anything, so I just tipped her (way too much but I always tip big) and left. And only now, after two months, am I finally able to get rid of the last of the color she put in my hair. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!! read more

Walked in for a simple style. Wasn't greeted. The hair stylists didn't seem to be interested in taking my business. I was told that every stylist was either busy or waiting on an appointment. Coming back at a later time wasn't even offered as an option. Pretty much, sorry, we're busy! Pleas go away! I noticed a few gals lounging on a sofa reading magazines and gossiping. Yeah, the place sure looked too busy to take me. The vibe in there was uppity and snobbish! Unless you're an old, wealthy white lady, they don't want your business. read more

Victoria does a great job cutting my hair and prices are great! $20 for a cut, includes wash and style, too! I had been trying to find a stylist, had used groupon, etc - and the places I tried cost $65-$85 if you go back after groupon. Victoria actually styled my hair better than they did, cutting nice layers into my shoulder length hair. The store is a bit dated, but I'm sure if they went all trendy they would charge $80, too. read more

Jo is the best stylist ever! For over 40 years I've been coming to her and she's been keeping me beautiful

I used to go to Hair Benders to get my hair done by a family friend who worked there as a stylist. In February, I went to her and asked her to give my hair a light brown and blonde ombre makeover. Long story short I ended up crying at home with dark brown roots and fried YELLOW hair. It was horrible. And did I mention fried? When I washed my hair the next day I could not even get my fingers through my hair. It looked and felt like I had a matted Shit-Zhu on my head. I was traumatized and never went back until two weeks ago. My mother-in-law knows the owners daughter, Victoria, and swore up and down that she was the best. So I went with her to get my hair a normal shade found in nature before a family wedding we just attended. As soon as I walked in I noticed the dramatic change in the design of the salon. All of the outdated, borderline tacky 80s hair model prints were gone and replaced by chic black and white prints of Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Jackie O and other Hollywood beauties. Victoria greeted me with a hug and a smile and spent time sitting down with me looking through pictures to figure out exactly what I wanted. She then took her time and deep and I mean DEEP conditioned my hair back to life. Then she transformed it into a beautiful mocha brown that was glossy and healthy looking. I am in love with it and can't even tell you how many compliments I have received. On top of all that, she has amazing prices! Before I could only afford to get my hair done (colored, cut and styled) once or twice a year. But now that I have a stylist like Victoria, I can go as often as I need. In fact, I'm going in for another deep condition in a few weeks. I can't say enough about how fabulous Victoria is. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone! When you stop by, make some time to see Christine as well. She handles all of the nail care and waxing. So sweet and nice. We talked and laughed the whole time. Much better than going to any other nail place and sitting in awkward silence while the nail technicians talk about you as if you weren't right in front of them.
