I've messaged this business via Instagram and no response. Seriously the worst hair experience ever! I went two months ago to see Talia (Tali's) as I found her on Groupon. I contacted her before I purchased anything to ask if she can do a Bayalage on my hair. I explained to her what I was looking for and she stated she could do it. I went to see her September 17th. She took not even two hours. She did two big chunks of foil on my hair, did only like 10 minutes of toner and sent me off. I wanted my hair blonde which I already had on me from my previous style and she left it bronze/brassy brown. It looked horrible. I messaged her with pictures (which I cannot retrieve because I deleted them and she blocked me) of my ugly hair and she said come back I'll fix it. I returned one week later to your salon and she left my hair WORSE. She only put toner and it left my hair purple. She didn't even dry it. She just left it wet on a braid. I messaged her a few days later and told her in a polite manner that she ruined my hair. I asked her to give me a refund and she refused my zelle request and even blocked me. I don't know what this woman's problem is but that is not how to do business. She lacks skill, personality and empathy. I paid almost $200 for this horrible service. I had to pay another $200 to get my hair done again and it's still not where it should be. I'm a cancer survivor, my hair thinned when I was on chemo. I'm barely getting my volume back and for talia to do this to me, it's disrespectful. I told her i was recently done with chemo and she ruins my hair. read more

Talia Torres is a horrible hair dresser and a dishonest person. i am shocked at what a deceitful person she is! I was charged for a full balayage color and she only did a few ugly chunky highlights around the crown. i specifically asked for no orange, but she failed horribly. my hair is streaky orange and yellow. The color is uneven and badly placed. At the end she throws in that she charges $30 extra for toner. Which is fine, but purple shampoo is NOT toner Talia!!! And i've never been charged extra for toner, usually when i get my hair colored i show them what i want and then they give me the price to achieve that look. But if you're going to charge someone extra for toner, then you should use toner!!! and she charges me extra for hair thickness which is so ridiculous since she only put 6 highlights around the top of my head. truly disgustingly dishonest and terrible colorist. i should have known there was something wrong because she kept turning my chair away from the mirror. i've never had to get a refund for my hair, but this time i definitely had to get my money back. Unfortunately i tipped her $50 cash which can't be recovered. i'm just completely disappointed that my hair is so ugly! Now i have to go to another salon for color correction plus balayage. im so upset that i was charged for a full color balayage and only received 6 UGLYYYY CHUNKY highlights, badly placed, and streaky orange/yellow/brown color. My first time I walked in was able to get my hair done without an appointment which was great. Receptionist was very friendly and so was the hairstylist I unfortunately cannot recall her name but she was a sweetheart. She did a decent job on my hair I think I'll be back. Do you only thing I would change their prices but I guess with the price increase with everything else it's standard that they will be more expensive than what I anticipated. I would definitely get a price go to head of time before I schedule the appointment. read more

I had a Brazilian blowout with Lori Smith! She was AMAZING! I have very thick and long hair, she made sure that my hair had enough products and really puts the effort to straighten/blow dry each part of my hair despite the length of it. I been having Brazilian blowouts for the last six years and honestly Lori is the BEST! even after I move back to WA , I will be flying to CA every six months to have her do my Brazilian blowout. Also the salon service was GREAT! Even during COVID-19, they are constantly cleaning everything, they provided me a mask on top of the one I had on to be prevent the smell of the Brazilian treatment and a cute fan to blow on face, plus there was an air purifier next to us. I get celebrity hair extensions like the real housewives of BH and those Kardashian hookers for under $300. I used to spend I cant even admit how much, I used to spend for worse quality hair and a poorer method of installation. Multiply what I pay now by a lot. BEST HAIR EXTENSIONS on the PLANET! She invented the weft and silicone bead attachment and custom makes each piece for each persons head. Its like wearing nothing and can be maintenanced with tightening. Amazingly talented, her talents could be taken else where for a lot more money in the extension industry. She also can curl your whole head with a flat iron in 15 min. and with a flat iron the curl sets immediately and stays forever, because there is heat and cool being wrapped around a flat iron. It will last for a week! Excellent styling and updos. She does really cute boho chic braids as well. I have been going here since Janielle Opferman (now Jones) began working here. She does great color, styling and is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. She's extremely organized and has excellent time management. Which is important for any professional. She not only does great hair, but she's a talented artist when it comes to makeup. Her creativity and sweet appeal makes everyone feel beautiful. Her pricing is reasonable, but definitely worth it. This past weekend she did hair for 5 of the 8 girls in a wedding party (including the bride). It was pouring rain outside and the five of us that had our hair done by her did not frizz one bit. Now you may say b/c Janielle had some potent hairspray... Yes, that could be true but she pinned our hair and curled it so that it looked beautiful, natural and flawless. My hair stayed in place all the way into the next morning. If for you girls that don't know what to do with your hair, you just want it up or just want a new color. Her creativity will astound you. I am completely disappointed in this salon after my usual hairstylist did not show up for our scheduled appointment...on my WEDDING DAY!!! I have been a regular client here for the last 6 months. I hired Lawrence to do my hair/my daughter's hair for my wedding last week. About a month in advance, we did the trial run and scheduled an appointment for the day of the wedding. I confirmed my appointment again a week before the actual date. Unfortunately, Lawrence never showed up. Aside from the pure outrage that goes along with your hairstylist not showing up on your wedding day, I have never encountered such unprofessionalism. What's worse is that after numerous voice messages and texts I still have not received a response. I decided to write this review after finally confirming with the salon that there was no personal emergency and seemingly no excuse for missing the appointment. Words cannot express my frustration, to say that this is poor customer service is an extreme understatement. No one should have to go through this, especially on their wedding day! I cannot speak regarding other stylists at the salon, only to my personal experience...in which case, book at your own risk. read more

I gave them two stars instead of one because I know mistakes happen and we all have our days... But here's the deal: I came to my hair appointment 10 minutes early and sat there waiting, after about twenty minutes (10 minutes after my scheduled time) I went up to the front desk (again) to check in. They said "Yes she's running just a bit behind." I'm an understanding person so I didn't give them much grief, but I did let them know I had somewhere to be 1 hr from then. They assured me that my stylist would be just a few moments. After almost 20 more minutes (30 minutes after my appt) I had to walk out the door. On my way out they caught my attention- my stylist had been sitting right next to me the entire time oblivious that her appointment was there! Whether it's the stylist's responsibility to check in with the receptionist or the other way around, their lack of communication cost me my time and money. This is a great salon! It's very clean, large and all of the staff seem very friendly. Lisa Ta is my go-to gal there. She's amazing with all different hair types and textures. I have super weird, course asian hair that's been dyed and bleached a million times. Luckily, for me, Lisa is able to transform my tresses. I get healthy hair with the blonde highlights that I have always longed for. She definitely makes sure that all of her clients come out looking, not just good, but H-O-T! She's also a super sweet person. There's no awkward silences with her because she'll chat you up like you've known eachother for years. I don't think I have ever felt this comfortable with a stylist before. Lisa's great with schedule flexibility and does amazing work (or in my case, "damage control") at affordable prices. Go to Lisa! Salon is very nice, easy ton find. AMANDA MOSLEY. This chick has some serious skills! I have had extensions since the age of 18, and I have paid some absolute ridiculous prices. (I'm talking $800 and up!) I have been searching for a hairdresser that doesn't charge an arm and a leg, isn't too far away, still does good coloring, efficient/quick, and of course delivers a great job....Amanda brings ALL of those things! I found her through a previous Yelp review on here, and I couldn't be happier. Amanda has you buy the hair, ( I recommend Linda's Beauty Supply on Orangethorpe in Fullerton, they are reasonably priced.) You give her the extensions a day or so before installation. She then custom sews the wefts together and attaches the silicone beads to the wefts. (Never seen this before, but it is the ABSOLUTE BEST!) Her installation feels so comfy on the head! I have never been in pain after a tightening, nor have I lost a bead. I can also go longer without tightening. Amanda has talent. She could easily go somewhere else and jack her prices up like most hairdressers too, but she prefers to be honest and reasonable while doing superb work. Mirela Nadler is the ethetician (waxing, eyebrow and eyelash dye and thickening, facials and skin treatments, mole and skin tag removal, permanent hair removal, etc.) who I have been seeing for 10 or so years, now located here at Bushire. This is a man writing - my wife sent me to get my eyebrows dyed when they started fading to blonde (she said it made me look "quizzical" which my wife says, I definitely "am not"). Over the years Mirela talked to me about shaping those crazy eyebrows and dying my eyelashes, which I must admit, make me look much better. Mirela is the mix of enormously compentent professional and motherly sensitivity that make getting the types of personal services she provides feel more like a visit to close friend than enduring a procedure. Over the years I have taken her advice on my skin, and have sent my "significant other" to her for the "flawless/perfect skin" treatment (I may have that term wrong) which works wonderfully. Mirela introduced me to Mariah (also at Bushire) who has cut my hair here (now also for many years). Matching me up with a compatible stylist is no easy feat as I was a lead singer in a 1980's new wave electronic rock band and so having interesting styling is important to me. It needs to be reasonalbly trendy, yet age appropriate and Mirela knew that Mariah would keep me looking up to date without looking foolish. The salon/spa (Bushire) where she is located in is situated in a place where it is always easy to park. There is always coffee or water ready and available in this large airy, bustling salon. There is a wonderful Indian Food place in the same complex (ask the ladies about it) that I treat myself to when possible. read more

Okay, so it is time for me to finally write a WELL DESERVED review for this establishment. Wendy Holden gets 5 stars all of the way! I have naturally curly hair and I have never possessed the talent to properly care for it. Since I was a little girl, I struggled with this hair. When I was 13 my hair fell out as a result of my own endeavors to get it straight. When it grew out after that, I ended up getting a bunch of chemical treatments done by "professionals" to straighten it, but to my avail, it began breaking off again. Yeah, it was pretty awful. Then Wendy stepped in. I began by getting hair extensions from her. While many girls warned me this would worsen the condition of my hair, it actually helped! Throughout the years, Wendy put up with me coming in with my hair extensions in tangles. Never once did she complain. While the extensions were in place, she patiently taught me how to deal with my hair and now my hair is finally 100% real, long and full- the hair I always wanted as a teenager! I now get compliments all of the time- and I truly do owe this to her. Oh, and a huge bonus is that her prices are very reasonable. But, that's just a bonus! And not to mention she's pretty awesome. So for all that she is done for my vanity, she and Bushire Salon will always have my business as long as I am in Southern California. read more

I like this salon, its big and bright and a couple of times I have gone in during one of their client appreciation days and they had snacks and margaritas. its a really fun atmosphere. but i will switch salons to go wherever Karina Nabulsi works! I have been going to her for almost 10 years now and this is the second salon she's been at. I have brassy, dirty blonde hair, and I want it to be ashy and white blonde, Karina is the only person who has ever been able to give me the blonde I want. Every time I walk out I am so happy with the results. She always will tell me if a product I'm using has been damaging my hair, what she recommends I use instead (not trying to get me to buy it from her, just trying to help), and sometimes if I need a treatment she will throw it in.
