i love the salon itself its relaxing and naturally bright and clean. ive seen the same girl multiple times and ive loved every trim and cut ive gotten from her and she's really sweet. i previously have bleached my own hair and was very upfront about this - i came in to undo the very harsh line between what i bleached and my natural color which was grown out a solid 6-8 inches, we went over highlight and lowlight options and let her know my goal was to have some light and some dark on both the bottom and top. back in november i paid $500 to still have an incredibly harsh line between the two colors. unfortunately i feel like im better off coloring my hair myself. read more

I've been coming to this salon since 2022, and I honestly love my hair every time I leave. I used to think my hair was too difficult to style or that certain styles wouldn't work for me, but Paul (one of the owners) has always let me try new things, and he gets it right every single time. I can't believe I stuck with the same hairstyle for so long! David, the other owner, is also such a sweetheart. The whole place has a super welcoming vibe, and the salon itself is gorgeous. You get that luxury experience without crazy high prices. I feel so fancy every time I'm there, but it's totally affordable. What other salon uses BALMAIN products on you for the price they charge?! It can be hard to get an appointment because Paul's clients are super loyal (for good reason!), so I'd recommend pre-booking if you can. She is very talented and explains everything she is doing in detail so you never feel confused or unsure about what is being done to your hair at any point. I also recently got a lobe piercing, and she made sure to be gentle when she worked with the hair around it, as it was still pretty sensitive. Never have I written a review so quickly but I HAD TO. I had my hair done by Paul and he is simply amazing. I have thick stubborn Asian hair - like, the very hair that is notoriously difficult to make blonde. I've spent thousands trying out different salons that specialized in doing blonde and it always came out super nice but not the exact shade or color I was hoping for. I came to Paul's expecting that it'll be the same - it's not them, it's me. Due to Covid, it's been quite some time since I attempted to go blonde and anyway - aside from my natural hair being difficult to work with. I also dyed my hair dark which is also very difficult to undo. To top it off, my ends have already been bleached four times and badly damaged. It was a trifecta of nightmares for hair stylists. Paul made my hair the lightest I've ever seen done - in one session! The techniques he used and the amount of attention he had was simply unmatched. He has a mastery of skills and knowledge AND he's so nice and really cares about you. Like seriously... I legit had three different colors (probably more) going on all with it's own issues and he made me into a beautiful blonde. Yes - you gotta wait your turn to see him BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. It was my third time going to this salon for full highlighting my hair! This time I decided to go with the owner of the salon! I cannot give them 5 star since the result was not the one I wanted! I have two strong reasons for that! I liked the overall color of my highlights, but I did not liked the color of its roots. The problem was that the highlight in front doesn't started from my scalps so I have to do my roots in 2 weeks again, and on top of that for the stylist used very dark color for the roots. I asked him if it will stay this much dark he said after drying it will be lighter! I just was waiting and waiting to see how he will do fix that! But I ended up with that dark color! In addition, he only used his scissors once, on the back of my head to change "the v shape to a curved shape" and he did nothing on any other part of my hair! Even I pointed to trim damaged hair! However, just for that he charged me for the full haircut! I regretted that I didn't take pictures from the floor to show that for how much work he charged me for the full haircut ! So disappointing and unethical! Anytime I watching myself on the mirror it just bites me! I decided to never back to that place! read more

It was easy to make an appointment with PaulDavid Salon. I was originally going to have my hair done in early July, but due to California shutting down again, my appointment got canceled, which was sad, but out of the salon's control. They gave me assurance that once the governor allowed salons to open again, I would be notified, if I was still interested. Within July I used box-dye on my hair to switch up the color. Once September hit, I was notified that salons were accepting appointments again. I have 3b curly hair, and curly hair alone in general is hard to find stylists who are willing (and with the experience) of coloring/balayaging more textured hairstyles. I let Linda know my worries, and she cheerfully offered a free consultation and during my appointment, I told her I had previously box-dyed my hair (for the first time) the past month and was wondering if it would prevent my hair from changing lighter. I was very satisfied with all my questions answered after and was happy to have pictures I saved on Pinterest of colors I wanted being possible on my curly hair. During my appointment Linda was very gentle with me and patient with all the tangles. She walked me through the whole process verbally and explained to me the purpose of each step (my first time getting my hair done professionally at a salon, and I was very curious). I was very satisfied with how my hair turned out after. It looked exactly how I pictured I wanted it to look. The price was definitely extremely low to what I was expecting, due to the fact that not many salons treat the kind of hair I have and if they do, they tend to raise the price a good amount due to the fact that my hair is hard to treat. However, this was definitely not the case and I am very grateful for having such an amazing first experience at a hair salon! I definitely recommend for most hair types! I had very stubborn red/orange hair that was driving me crazy. Linda explained the different routes we could go and decided to go for the healthy route. My hair is gorgeous AND still healthy - I don't think I've ever been this obsessed with my hair! The salon itself is super cute and there's a great vibe there. There are multiple TVs for you in case you get bored but honestly Linda was a blast to talk to. There are COVID safety measures set in place so make sure you bring your own water if you think you're gonna get thirsty. This was my first time bleaching my hair, I wanted to get purple done and I was honestly very excited and also very terrified. I had messaged Linda a few times a few months ago with the style and color I wanted. Originally, i wanted the grey ash purple, but after we talked she thought it was best for me to start dark first then go light. I couldn't agree more. Hair stylists know best! Linda is great! She answered a million questions that I had and guided me on how to treat my hair afterwards and what to expect in the next month or so. She was very delicate with my super tangled and hot mess of a hair. Very patient and really friendly and fun to talk to. \ Final result were baby highlights, ombre. I really love how it turned out and have received so many compliments already. I really should have just been quiet and let her do her thing because she really did an amazing job! Found this salon through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. It was worth the month wait! (That's always a good thing when they're that booked out) Linda listened to what I wanted and what my goal is which is to revive my dry, unhealthy, blonde hair. I told her I still wanted blonde in it since I've been a blonde for probably over 20 years now so going straight to dark would be a no go for me.
