I've been coming to Drybar for years, both when I lived in Austin and after moving to San Antonio,…read moreand overall my experience has been pretty mixed -- which is why I'm giving it a middle-of-the-road rating. When it's good, it's really good. There are a few stylists here who are absolute gems and consistently do an amazing job. The problem is that because they're so good, they're also very hard to book since everyone tries to reserve them. The bigger issue is consistency. There seems to be a high turnover with stylists, so sometimes you get someone very experienced and other times it feels like you might be with someone who just got their license recently. Because of that, the quality of the blowout can be a bit hit or miss. Timing can also be stressful. They're very strict if a client is late, but in my experience appointments often start late on their end. Many times I've had to wait 5-10 minutes past my appointment time, and occasionally it's been 30-45 minutes, which can be tough if you're getting ready for an event. I also have curly hair (not coarse, just curly), and if a stylist isn't comfortable working with that texture, what should be a normal appointment can turn into a much longer session -- sometimes up to an hour and a half. That said, for the price point it can still be a convenient option, especially since there aren't many direct competitors offering the same type of service. I've had my membership twice over the years and used it frequently. However, after thinking about it, I recently decided to cancel my membership. I've enjoyed many visits here and there are definitely talented stylists, but the inconsistency and timing issues ultimately made it harder to rely on regularly.

What can I say- I walked in on a whim because I had questions about the service- the owner was…read morethere and she was so kind. Just so happened she had an opening- and when I tell you- this experience was so beautiful- from the scalp massage- color red light therapy- wash with scented towel- hand massage and final product of my style. I can not wait to come back!!! The salon is very 'everyone'- when I say this I mean every body- from reception to stylist checked on you to make sure you didn't need anything- make an appointment to be pampered.

I had a very disappointing experience at Joyez Salon Spa. I went in for a keratin treatment in 2025…read morewith the specific goal of loosening my curls, not removing them completely. I clearly communicated this before the service. After my original stylist left the salon, I was placed with another stylist who did not seem familiar with the keratin process. The owner even had to step in and explain parts of the treatment to her during my appointment. When it came time for the flat-ironing stage, the process was done incorrectly. After the treatment was shampooed out, my curls were completely gone and my hair was left flat and straight--nothing like what I asked for. I was extremely upset seeing the result, and I left the salon in tears because my natural curls were gone. What has been even more frustrating is that my hair is still not the same. It has been almost a year since the treatment, and my hair is still affected. I have had to cut inches off trying to remove the damaged portions caused by the treatment. It has been a long and upsetting process, and my curls have still not fully returned the way they used to be. While the salon apologized, there was no real solution offered, and I was still required to pay for the service despite the clear miscommunication and mistake. I hope the salon ensures their stylists are properly trained for specialized services like keratin treatments and that client expectations are taken more seriously in the future.
