Bugg fucked up my hair. Don't go. My cut is uneven, there's random shelf layer that was not blended. She noticed, let me know, and let me leave knowing that it was uneven. I'm a model, a bad cut can affect me from booking jobs! This is just unacceptable to pay $150 for someone to ruin your hair then another couple hundred for someone to fix it. Forgot to mention, while I booked the appointment they kept trying to charge my Amex aggressively. I had my card still blocked for concern that I lost it, then while on the phone with my bank, they notified me of FIFTEEN pending/declined CHARGES from Hair Metal. WTF!!! Super frustrating bc my bank flagged it as fraud which made me stressed going into the appointment. Unprofessional and all around weird vibes. read more

I followed Michelle here from her last salon, she is truly the only person I let touch my hair anymore. She absolutely nails it everytime, I've never been more happy with my hair than I am after Michelle is done working her magic. I had an overall great experience with my stylist Sarah. I came in for a last minute color appointment that they squeezed me in for, which I really appreciate. I have thick curly hair (and a lot of it!) And it was still recovering from a botched highlight job I had done in September at another salon. Sarah transformed my brassy, early 2000s chunky highlights into beautiful light ashy brown with all over highlights. I usually go for more golden colors but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the cooler toned look. I give 4 stars only because I wasn't crazy about the blowout at the end. It was a bit frizzy and the bottom portion of my hair still had curly bits near the root with little to no shine to it. My hair type requires more heat and smaller sections to get that salon look. However, I don't blame this on Sarah because it was the end of the night and with my hair type it would have required at least an extra hour or more of work (which I was too hungry to even ask for haha) my main goal was to fix my hair color and that was beautifully done. I've gone to Hair Metal 2 times earlier this year and I was really happy with the results. I went last week for my post- quarantine cut with Slade- and let me tell you, it's the best hair cut I've ever gotten. I unintentionally grew out my pixie cut due to Covid and I was starting to get a mullet. Slade transformed me from crazy looking to back to normal with my pixie cut. The salon is nice and clean- I love looking at a poster of Gene Simmons while getting my hair washed. They play really awesome music and the staff is really nice! I recently got my hair cut and dyed for the first time in 3 years, and Maria did an amazing job with both! This was my first time getting my hair dyed at a studio rather than dying it myself at home, and it made SUCH a difference. I know I come back to get my hair done again in the future. Maria helped me create a brand new hairstyle while still staying true to my classic long hair, and taught me so much about haircare in the process. So this spot I feel its futile to write a review because I can just say read the million reviews below but I'll add a bit of my own sentiment. So this spot is real legit. I've gotten like 4 haircuts there. I have been extremely happy especially with the grow out - and I have some thick ass hair - and it doesn't completely break my bank at $60 plus a tip. Just got my hair done today by Heather and had a great experience! I had very long, dry locks and she gave me an ultra cool cut and a beautiful purple/magenta color, she even used some serum that made my hair feel super smooth and healthy after blow-drying. I wish I had gotten the name of that product! Everyone was nice and very attentive, asking me if I needed tea, water etc. I really did not get any "snobby" vibe that other people are commenting on. I have had a hard time finding a quality salon since I came to live in NYC over 6 years ago - now I have FINALLY found my salon! If you are interested in 'punk' colors, this is definitely the place to go. It's in one of the trendiest and most expensive neighborhoods in the country so yeah, the prices are high, but honestly - you get what you pay for. I made an impromptu appointment at Hair Metal. I have a slight phobia when it comes to getting my hair cut. Long story short, Maria Tsaguriya, who I have never met before, cut my hair and did an amazing job. My hair is on the shorter side, but I needed a new style. The only direction I gave Maria was I don't want to look like a housewife anymore but want my hair to grow longer...not very helpful on my part. Maria took her time and gave me a very thorough cut. A waste of time. I've tried to get my hair cut twice at Hair Metal but they've never actually managed to cut my hair. For the sake of brevity I'll out line my most recent experience. Last week I went in to hair metal to make an appointment. I went there physically, and spoke with one of the stylists who took the apointment for Monday at noon, wrote me out one of those little cards with her name, the date, time and price. I've uploaded the card to the photo section if you'd like to take a look. I arrive at the date specified about 10 min early. I come in, no one greets me. I stand at the desk for about 5 min before a pink and blond woman comes up and asks me if I need something. I tell her that I'm Anna and I have an apointment for noon. She clicks around on the computer for a few min, then asks me if maybe my apointment is at the other hair metal. I explain that no, my apointment is here, I came here to make it. I have one of those little apointment cards, I fish it out of my pocket. More clicking around, then she says your apointment is at 3pm. To which I reply, no it's not, it's noon I came in and made an reservation for noon the card even says noon. She looks at the apointment card in my hand with out taking it. I can't speak to that she says. Ok, can you fit me in? I ask as she sort of plays with her blond and pink hair while gazing out the window. She clicks her piercings and gives me a look of bovine incomprehension. You could come back at 3, she suggests. As if that possibility was either feasible or novel. Feeling a but like I'm trying to stem an inexorable tide, I ask Do you have something before then? You could wait, she suggests. Maybe you could get in at 1 or 2. She doesn't apologize or even acknowledge they fucked up. I don't know why I'm surprised by this, it's happened before. read more

I was a long time customer of this salon but after today I will not be returning. Apparently 90% of the old staff decided to come back to the salon after they re-opened post COVID. I made an appointment with my usual stylist and last minute my appointment was changed to a different person. I was notified that my stylist was no longer with the salon so I figured I'd give the new girl a chance. This was a huge mistake!! I paid $90 for the literal worst haircut of my life, I could have done a better job with a pair of rusty scissors in the dark. My hair is completely uneven and about 2 inches shorter on one side - I'm not nit picking this is an obvious difference. Never again! read more

I'm really neurotic about my hair and often go years without getting it cut just because it makes me nervous to change it. I trusted Bugg with cutting my long, thin, damaged hair into a wavy pixie, and I've never been happier. I feel like they found the real me underneath my old overgrown style. The cut grows out amazingly so I get compliments on it all the time even if it's been a few weeks since I've gotten it done, but now I go in as often as possible because I love the way Bugg gets it. My hair even looks awesome in rain, humidity, or when I sweat; for basically my whole life I hated the whole summer for how it made my hair react, but now it's no big deal. This is my second review of Hair Metal - new stylist new review. First, I had found a gift certificate from 2014 and they were gracious enough to let me still use it since it had no expiration date. So I went HAM and got a cut and color - something I would not ordinarily do. I saw Kat for a color and cut and it all came out great. I got a platinum blonde balyage on my virgin red hair. Kat painted the blonde up high so that I can grow it out since I will pretty much never be able to afford this again. The cut was dope as well. Very uncool experience here with Shelly. I considered not writing a bad review because Kristina, the manager, is actually super kind and eventually refunded me my $300 after a bit of back and forth - but I decided to write this anyway because Shelly can't treat someone like that and get away with it. Also, the salon did not refund me my 20% tip of $60 on top of the $300. Out of principle, considering the situation that went down, this should have been given back to me, and I'm still annoyed that Shelly got to keep that. I had just moved here and didn't have a stylist yet when I went into Hair Metal. I went in with platinum medium length blonde hair, requesting a bit of darker blonde just at my roots, to sort of break up the platinum. I am naturally a very light blonde and had only dyed my hair a silvery platinum over the summer (first dye job ever), to try something sightly brighter. I had explained to Shelly that I just wanted to move away from the white/silvery platinum, and do a gradual blonde ombre back to my natural blonde. I had also very clearly stated that I wanted to grow my hair out, and that I hated layers on my hair, so I wanted to stay with a blunt cut and keep the length. I must have said that at least 3 times. First, the cut: Shelly went and cut my hair into short choppy layers, which sure enough, poofed out into a "Mom" cut, just like layers always do on my head. I couldn't believe she did the exact thing I asked her not to do. She also cut way too much length off considering I told her I was growing my hair out. I felt defeated after having grown it out for the past 5 months. That alone was maddening. But then, the color: Shelly legit made me a brunette that day. I have no idea what she was thinking. Not only did she not keep the darker blonde specific to the roots area as I had requested (pulling the color down all the way to my tips), but she didn't keep it at blonde at all. She went straight brown. I had never walked in there asking to be anything but blonde, nor did I want to be. Furthermore, the dye job was not good at all. She gave me patches of dark brown hair, with other areas of lighter brown hair, and then she left my ends bleached out. It was a nightmare. When I exclaimed that it was really dark, Shelly said after a few washes it would tone down. I think I was in utter shock when I left. I immediately went home and started washing my hair obsessively. After washing it 6 times in one day, it was still uneven dark brown hair which clearly would in no way resemble what I wanted. I called the salon and asked if she could she fix it. Shelly replied that she was going on vacation for a week but if I still didn't like it when she was back, I could come back in -- but she would have to charge me. After a few days of generally feeling terrible about this new look, I called the salon back and explained that I didn't really want to wait for Shelly to come back from vacation, and can someone else please fix this color. Turns out, Shelly hadn't even left for vacation yet + the manager booked me with her that evening. From the get go she was defensive and rude. Shockingly she said, "This color isn't brown, it's what you asked for." I felt like one of us was insane. The color was so obviously brown that there was no arguing with her. (I had brought blonde on blonde photos to the appointment and had met with her for a consultation prior to the cut, so there was no confusion as to what I wanted). Shelly did a clarifying shampoo which lightened it slightly, and then said that it was done. At that point, with little difference, I said if she can't get the color right than maybe she could just bleach it back to platinum, even though that's not what I wanted, but it would be better than brown. Shelly's attitude turned from rude to nasty. She said she'd have to charge me another full rate and she didn't have time to do it then (her boyfriend was waiting for her + she was leaving for vacation the next day). She raised her voice so the entire salon could hear, saying she "did exactly what I asked for and it wasn't brown!" I was calmly saying she did not do what I wanted, clearly, and pleading please just dye it back to blonde. It was ridiculous. Eventually I walked out- brown hair still wet- out $360 - haven just been yelled at - with no idea what to do. The bottom line here, is Shelly did not listen to what I asked for at all. She did what she wanted to do on my head, with no consideration for my personal style or specific requests or even photos I had brought in. I had no connection to the look she gave me. Not sure what is worse though - that, or her absolute refusal to fix it when I was so clearly unhappy, and her utter rudeness toward me in the entire debacle. It was 4 days of pure stress in my life and is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a stylist and a haircut. (See my review for Exhibit Salon, who miraculously fixed this). read more

'A Chinatown barbershop haircut, no matter how pleasing at $12,' he continued, 'is no different from wearing a knock-off Gucci track suit. Would you want to be seen in a knock-off Gucci track suit?' I quietly slipped my Cucci brand watch into my pocket. 'Uh-' 'Here's $70. Go get a haircut at a place that doesn't serve complimentary scallion pancakes to the regulars. You'll thank me for it tomorrow.' After ruminating on which salon was going to pop my Real Haircut cherry, I settled on Hair Metal, a local mecca for collecting edgy head-suits. It famously resembles a tattoo parlor. 'Ed Hardy makes my head-suit,' I practiced saying to Jack as leather-vested Allie lathered my hair. I asked her -as the first white girl to touch my hair in 28 years- if the common knowledge that 'only Asians can cut Asian hair' was a conspiracy rumor propagated by the Asian haircutting community. She declined to take a strong position. Allie gave me a nice haircut. Stylistic differences are minimal (turns out my inner head-suit still favors Chinatown), but she put some lovely product in it following, and offered to trim my bangs for free any time (apparently, that's par for course. Salons! Who knew-). My head-suit is legit, and I've probably crossed a threshold that it would be inappropriate to regress from. But $60 pre-tip (that's a 400% markup from good old Pell Street) is steep shellings-out for, well, no free scallion pancakes. read more

I'd love to give this place a higher rating because I really think that they have a great little salon with talented people, BUT I was so put off by my hairstylist that I was compelled to write this review. I had never been to Hair Metal and was recommended by a friend. I didn't pick any one particular stylist when I called to make my appointment for a cut and color consultation, so when I got to the salon I was introduced to Maria T. Things started off crappy at the get-go. I told her I wanted to just clean up my ends/layers, and she instantly got annoyed like I was wasting her time. Whenever I tried to talk about my color, she wouldn't really give me her opinion and even told me that she needed to focus on my cut because that's all I made an appointment for (even though it wasn't and I told her that). We didn't talk at all during the duration of the cut and although I don't expect to keep a constant conversation w/ my stylist a little interaction would have been nice. I just sat there staring at my hands the whole time, listening to the other hairdressers chat with their clients. Whenever I asked her a question, she was extremely condescending and made me feel like I was an idiot for asking her anything. In the end, my hair looked nice so I tipped her 20% strictly for her service, but I feel like I didn't get all of my questions answered and left feeling like I was stupid for not going in and wanting a really crazy cut. I've seen all of these great reviews from other people on here so it's a bummer that I had such a bad experience. read more

ok ok so Heather has been cutting my hair for almost a year and I have nothing but praise for this salon. I decided to write this yelp review because something amazing happened yesterday: I walked in, told Heather, 'the usual' and she said 'you don't want to try something new?' and I said 'yea sure be creative and have fun with it' and then we talked about movies and crazy people and exchanged stories, even the woman who works at the counter got in on the conversation, it was like I was just hanging out having a good time, and I didn't even look at my hair until I got home later, but when I did, it was the best haircut I'd ever had in my entire life. The thing about Heather is that she's one of those people who is really really talented and good at what they do, but doesn't get nearly enough praise for it, like a hidden gem. She is very meticulous and calculated yet creative and ambitious with my hair, and I'm nobody, just a regular guy. She has no reason to give me a superstar haircut, but she does every single time. Also, the people at Hair Metal are really cool and super chill. They make me wish I had better real life friends. If there's one thing I'm going to miss about NYC when I leave, it's these haircuts. read more

Hair METALLLLL \m/ I walked in for a consult a couple weeks ago, and Cock Sparrer was playing. I walked in for my hair/colour yesterday, and Danzig was on. From the moment I stepped into Hair Metal, I knew I was in the right place. Who doesn't want to get their hair cut to Slayer and Motley Crue?! ;) I am SO pleased that I decided to spend my hard-earned money and my whole Sunday afternoon with Heather. While I've had some nice color jobs (but mainly just black/dark colors/subtle lowlights), I have not had an actual hair style (other than: "long" or occasionally "medium-length") for many, many years. I blame this on my brother, who, when I was sixteen, came up behind me with shears and shaved a strip on the back of my head because he thought it was funny. I was already an angst-ridden teen, and I nearly died of embarassment and fury, and rarely cut/styled my hair after that incident (13 years ago). And when I have gotten haircuts in the past that weren't what I imagined, it made me even more hesitant to do anything with my hair but wear it long. Why am I telling you all of this? Because I am a terrible hair-patient. I'm scared, timid, and overly-concerned with the processes taking place. But, dear readers, I have been transformed. I am completely safe in Heather's care. Heather was great. She matter of factly told me that we needed to "break up" some of the color at the bottom of my hair because until yesterday, my hair was literally striped three different colors - a couple inches of my real hair color (mousy brown, ugh), a couple inches of recent color, and a crazy build up of black-ish color at the ends. She said that unless I wanted to cut a lot of my hair off, then we needed to get the color out. Which I didn't know was possible. But it is. Heather used a bleach-shampoo-other stuff solution and worked it into my ends for probably half an hour, which turned my hair a lighter reddish brown. She had warned me that my hair was going to be a bunch of weird colors over the course of the afternoon, but not to worry because it would ultimately come out just fine. She was right on both accounts. Pleased with the amount of color that lifted out of my hair (apparently not all people's hair cooperates so well, but I got lucky), Heather then lifted more color out of my hair in the form of highlights that are only under the top layer of my hair. When this was done, she put a violet red gloss on everything - both the highlighted parts and the rest of my hair -resulting in the coolest, best color my hair has ever seen. I remember trying to get my stylist in Portland to do something like this, but people in Maine... sigh... they really don't have the same know-how. Anyway, best color ever, so then Heather proceeds to match said color with the best haircut I've ever had (really). SO MANY stylists I've seen refuse to do anything with my hair when I say I want it to remain long. Yeah well, you all should meet Heather. She put a bazillion beautiful layers in my hair, only cut 2" off the total length (my hair was pretty long), and gave me side bangs - and the effect is still long, long hair but with a ton of movement and a destinctive style. SO EXCITED. My roommate LOVED my hair, my coworkers were shocked and loved it... when I went to buy lunch the ladies at Brooklyn Fare actually took down Hair Metal/Heather's information because they loved the color so much. Just sayin. I try not to draw too much attention to myself, but I can't even pretend to be modest about this - the cut and color I got from Heather at Hair Metal objectively rocks. It's not crazy enough to be work-inappropriate, but it's definitely rock n roll enough to make you wonder if I'm hiding tattoos under this blazer (yes'm). Oh and, a final note: I had to laugh because while I was getting my hair-did, two different dudes who saw the stylist next to me said they didn't know that Hair Metal does dudes' hair. Why wouldn't they?! Of course they do - and both guys, one with long hair and one with a more conservative short look, walked away looking awesome. Additionally, no you do not have to be punk rock or metal or whatever to go here - they do moms and grammas, conservative and crazy hair alike, and all with equal expertise (believe me, I was here for four hours, I saw all of this). Just for orientation - I have gotten my hair done in some of the best salons in the world - and some of the coolest mid-range priced rock 'n' roll spots too. I'm not a snob but I do know that if you're going to promote yourself as a hip rock 'n' roll hair salon in the middle of hip-*ss Williamsburg, NY, you should know what you're doing. I walked into this salon the other day with a blonde mohawk that had grown out pretty long and asked both the receptionist and a stylist what could be done with it to transition it as I was growing it out. I already had a photo of a friend who had the same mohawk and then got it cut in a cute style that could just be duplicated for my own hair. I showed it to the stylist, a young girl in her 20s. She basically told me "well, there's nothing you can do. Maybe part it down the middle.". Yep - she told me to part it down the middle. I'd come here just to relax, It's the vibe and dogs needed in the lounges and bars, really cool atmosphere. As far as $50 [40+tip] goes, I don't know, Is it a higher class barber? stylists? a rock lounge? a group of chillers starter cutting hair with no professional training? It's somewhere among those lines, but what do I know, I'm only a yelper. They are 'confident' with the scissors, I'm not found by it, my stylist envisioned a kind of own style for my hair, and just couldn't help it. At least someone feels good about my short hair - who said it supposed to be me. Kind of hair cut you do consider that emergency month vacation after all :-) . As a guy, and a guy with a not-very-complicated haircut, I frequently pay too much for what amounts to a very little bit of service in my efforts to avoid a fade or a bowl cut. Nothing against either, especially the bowl cut as that got me through my first few years of schooling looking like a magnificent Prince Valiant, but I digress. This place has the following going for it for guys looking for a good, non-boring haircut (if you prefer your haircuts boring, this place would charge too much, just hit the barber for your trim and save cash). - Very sweet and friendly staff, contrary to some other reviews here. Maybe I was just there on a good day but everyone was pleasant. - A wash/conditioning, cut, then rinse and blow dry followed by a styling for $40. I pay $40 at Freemans barber shop for a dry cut. This is a much better deal. - METAL. The entire time I was regaled with the finest of ridiculous metal tracks. Serious points for that. - Lee, if you get her, is both super cool and a great stylist. - Efficient but not rushed. Cons: - Cash only, with no atm in the salon or on that street. Just mildly annoying, but then I'm mildy annoyed by anywhere besides a bodega that is cash only. Rightfully so, if I may say, but that is for another post another day. Verdict: If you are a guy with a vaguely hipster haircut (just admit it and go on with your life, I do) this is a great spot for a cut. read more

I came here last night looking for a good but budget-friendly cut. I normally go to Sasa at Dlala in the East Village, whom I love, but as she's been in Japan for months and months now (I believe having some issues with her visa to come back) I had to look elsewhere. She charges me $50 for the best haircuts I've ever had in my life, so the idea of paying much more than that seemed pretty unpalatable. I should have just paid more and gone to one of the other salons in the area that I'd been looking at. My appointment was with Marissa. She seemed a nice enough girl, but this haircut is awful. I'm giving two stars because the location is convenient, she was nice, and I'm assuming she can do better based on the 5 star review of her work I read before going. Maybe she was having an off day, or maybe my thick but super fine and flat hair is just not her specialty. I'd been growing my hair out from that last time I chopped it all short about a year and half ago. I made it to just below my chin. I came in with two ideas, either to continue growing it and just restyle it with shorter bangs; or to have it recut to a previous short cut that I loved (see my profile pic, which I brought in with me for reference - the hair I'm wearing in my profile pic, actually). Rather than making any suggestions regarding what might be best with my hair type and face, I was simply told that I needed to make a decision. I decided to go with the short hair I'd had before, since I had a picture with me and figured it was a safe decision - wrong! I shouldn't have worn my glasses instead of contacts - I took them off and couldn't see what she was doing, and when I put them back on I had a crazy short semi-pixie. I hate pixies. My girlfriend suggested this place because they advertising men's cuts for $25. I went in with a shaggy mop top and asked for a trim and let the guy know I was growing my hair out. Needless to say I walked out with a shitty Joan of Arc bowl cut. Throughly embarrassed, when I got home I had to shave my awesome mustache off and have my girlfriend re-cut my hair so I wouldn't get the shit kicked out of me. I was very close to shaving my head. Now I'll be wearing a hat for the next couple of months. I was under the impression that this was some sort of joke between the two stylists as they kept exchanging glances between one another during the cut. If you are a guy, don't get a hair cut here unless you don't care about what you look like. There is nothing metal about this place. At least I got some sympathy sex from my girlfriend. read more

Ed cut my hair for the entirety of my residence in Williamsburg. Not only did his repertoire of skills cover faux hawk, Chuck Liddell hawk, and Manhattan douche chic (only needed once), but he also always gave me vitamin waters and sometimes would even buy me beers at The Abbey!! He will also rock your face at no extra charge if you ask nicely and say Ben sent you. He hasn't yet rocked a million faces, but of the ones he's seen, he's rocked them all. At least that's the rumor. Had all of my best cuts ever here, so much so that I simply shave my head in defeat now that I live in SF. Poop. Seems like I'm one of the few reviewers with not-so-great things to say about Hair Metal Salon. Got my haircut here a couple of months ago. The girl gave me the impression that she was a bit drunk and by the end of the appointment, the back of my head (I have medium length hair) had one side longer hair and the other side shorter. I ended up having to fix the cut at home by myself. On a side note, they're rather rude on the phone. read more

Finally after reading over all the reviews here I decided to give this place a shot. Long story short, I have type 3c curly hair. I've been struggling with this hair of mine and more importantly I needed a good trim/cut. So i set up an appointment with Terra (hope i'm spelling her name right). She's so sweet!! It's the first time I EVER had a stylist ask me questions about what I do to my hair and to really look at it. Usually I'd go to the salon and say "I'd like to get a trim." and without asking me questions the stylist just get's to work. Not with Terra. She answered many questions that I had and I had TONS. She even gave me good advice about where to eat around the area. I was very late for the appointment but the staff were very accommodating and understanding. I highly appreciated that. When it came to cutting my hair, she noticed how uneven my hair was. Blame this on people who cut my hair after washing it and straightening it out. She did it differently. She cut my hair while it was dry. When she cut it, I got to see afterwards how amazing it looked. it even felt lighter! I was scared that she would chop off a lot, but she didn't and she really did listen to my concerns. Also, when she styled my hair, I honestly wasn't so thrilled with how it was done...not her fault at all I'm just really picky. I was surprised and happy that without complaint she re-wet and conditioned my hair and allowed me to style it own my own. Finally, here's the real shocker: Two days later and my hair is still looking awesome! I've always had problems with second day curls, so i'm happy that it still looked good the next day. So all in all will I come back? Most likely yes. The only thing was that it was the most i ever spent on cutting/ trimming my hair. However it's a cut and that says a lot! So it was well worth the price. If I go back would I request Terra? Darn right!! Curly girls out there, book an appointment with her. Finally. Bangs fit for a (21-year-old) schoolgirl. It was so great to find a hairstylist who was able to gather up enough of my baby-fine hair to make straight bangs, instead of that sideswept nonsense that everyone and their mother gets. These bangs mean business. The cut was well worth the $60 plus tip. Plus, I got in on Alie's insider tip that Bumble & Bumble changed the formula of their Thickening Spray, despite the fact that the previous version was "the jam." It was. I miss it too, Alie. I hope we can commiserate and inhale hairspray fumes together in the future. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANGS. Oh, and it's cash only. read more

This is one of many salons I've tried in the last few months during my search for a new place. My haircut wasn't too bad but I have definitely experienced better, and for less. You don't get washed here, which I actually like because I always wash my hair before getting it cut. My stylist seemed mentally preoccupied with something else though, and might have been on autopilot. I understand everybody has off days, but that's not a good thing when it comes to haircuts. Everybody I interacted with was also pretty cold. I don't have much to say because this was pretty much an in and out ordeal, but I can't say that I had a good experience here. read more

I went here because my roomie got an incredible cut, unfortunately I didn't have such luck. I wish I remembered the name of my stylist, but I have no idea, probably because she didn't say more than two words to me the whole time I was there. The receptionist chick is sweet, but past her, everyone is rude, stuck up and super judgey. If you don't fit into their alternative vibe then they're super rude and dismissive towards you. No-one offered me water/anything and I felt super uncomfortable the entire time i was there. Like I had walked into an emo VIP party and wasn't cool enough to be there. I gave my stylist a lot of freedom with the cut, I just asked for her not to chop off too much length and limit the layers and face feathers...she basically totally ignored what I asked for as I walked away with a full on Rachel cut...albeit a pretty decent Rachel cut, it's the total opposite of what I asked for. Icing on the cake...my stylist put my gold earrings on her station, and I forgot them when I left. I called up 20 mins after I left to ask that they put them aside and I'd go collect them...they said my earrings were nowhere to be found. read more
