My 12-year-old daughter asking me to take her there with her friends for her birthday. They will even host birthday parties or bridal showers and other small events. My friend Joanne always asks me to go to a pedicure together so we can spend some fun time while being pampered by Alexis! I love Glow!

Called a week in advance and made the last appointment of the evening, talked to the owner about how Thursday night would be the best for color, etc. I chose the versa spa for my wedding because I've had it done many times before always the same level and at multiple different locations in multiple states even and always happy with it and never had an issue so I figured it was the safe route but I was very wrong ... I arrive Thursday evening at 5:15pm and the doors are locked and the place is closed. Called to receive voicemail. After going into panic mode, by 5:35 I was calling the next closest place which was in New Bedford. My quick thinking bridesmaid started going door to door at nearby businesses in the same plaza and just by luck went into the H&R Block where an older male told her his wife goes there and he can get the owners number (thank god). So my bridesmaid was able to get ahold of the owner who didn't know there was an appointment and asked for us to come tomorrow - we said no, so she came. I'm not rating this 1 star for the owner, people make mistakes, and she tried to make it right but people should know to avoid this versa spa booth! So once we're there things seem good, except the owner made a comment about "whatever happens in there I'll airbrush custom tan to fix" which is alarming in itself. I go in, do all the Normal positions, come out and have dark brown lines across my neck, no color in the corner of my arms, no color on my legs, and am so wet from the tan the second any clothing touched me it completely wiped it off. I came out saying oh my god, and she said don't worry I'll fix it. I said I've never had this issue before and it's never this wet or streaky or horrendous and the owner said something about a new part on the booth or something that seemed as though to explain why it was horrible? Now she did do a custom spray tan to fix everything, used a sponge to fix the problems from the versa spa and made things as right as she could. I left paying half price, was just happy to have a tan period but returned home to absolutely no color on my legs (opted not to have her custom spray them so they're solely from the clearly broken versa spa tan but I'm okay with it because wearing a wedding dress and no one will see). Woke up the next day to brown dirty hands which will be fixed with a manicure. Point of story, owner said her mistake was putting my appointment in the wrong week, but the shop still closed early, and had my smart quick thinking bridesmaid never gone door to door this would have been a much bigger disaster but the owner did try to make it right. This review is for the versa spa tan booth which should be avoided at all costs because it clearly does not work correctly. Also be careful as it took me 4 days to even get ahold to make my appointment because they often close early (as evidenced also by the locked door at 5:15pm, when they had a 5:30pm appointment scheduled and the hours posted were until 6pm). I called this morning to ask about pricing and Jill called me back and I was very impressed with my options on a package. I was immediately comfortable talking to Jill when I first walked in. It's clear she has a real passion for her business and cares about her clients. I wasn't bombarded with sales pitches for lotions or a bigger package. In fact when all was said and done she was able to give me a better deal than my previous salon. I wish I'd tried Cosmopolitan sooner. As far as the actual tanning experience, I felt absolutely amazing afterwards. The salon is extremely clean and quiet, a feeling of true relaxation. They have enough beds so I doubt a long wait will ever be an issue. The bulbs are nice and strong. Jill gave me a tour and showed me my options to choose from, she also gave me a lotion to try that was awesome. As a single mom tanning is the one thing I do for myself that makes me feel good, it's my time to clear my head.
