The 2 stylist that did not have the mask covering their nose one being a female over 300 lbs with congestive heart failure and the other being a male over 400 lbs with asthma. It is very difficult for them to breathe wearing a mask all day and could cause them personal health issues. An 8ft by 6ft sink area makes it impossible to social distance when there are two stylist and two clients in the area. ----- Its hot and humid in Massachusetts, but when discomfort becomes more important than protecting the health of yourself, your clients, and your community, I can't support your business. ~Facility~ Location: B Cleanliness: B Spaciousness: C Staff: F Environment: F ~Stylist~ Ease of making appointment: A Knowledge: A Results: A Facility: -This salon is fairly easy to get to, with a decent amount unmetered street parking. I could see it being difficult to find a spot during really busy times, but overall it's not too bad. -The salon itself is pretty neat and well kept. It's not huge but it is not a shoe box either. -The staff were really friendly and were obviously aware of the seriousness of COVID as they were checking temperatures at the door, providing facemask, and plastic covers for everyone who walked in. A+ for that effort, but the CDC has said the most effective way to prevent the spread is PROPERLY wearing a facemask that covers your nose and mouth and maintaining six feet distance. Obviously, the stylist cannot maintain six feet from their clients, but clients and other stylists should be maintaining six feet from each other, which was for the most part adhered to, except for when you got to the wash area which was this tight space in the corner. That's problem number one, but it's not main problem. The main problem was that at least two of the stylist failed to wear their mask problem. A larger gentleman working across from where I was getting my hair down (about six feet away, perhaps a little less) had his mask on his chin. The virus isn't spread by your chin sir, it's spread by your mouth and nose, what is a chin guard going to help you with? The stylist to my right, had her mask over her mouth but not her nose. The stylist was washing her clients her at the same time my stylist was taking out my relaxer (in that tight corner). I asked her polite to put her mask up, and she informed me "it's too hard to breathe" and explained that the mask isn't effective if it only covers your mouth and not your nose and she told me I could go sit somewhere else and wait for her to be done. I did move and wait for her to be done, but I feel the need to point out that even though I move six feet away, it's still an indoor area with shared air. By her refusing to put her mask up correctly, she was placing me and everyone else in danger. When I went back to the sink, the larger stylist came over with his client with no mask on (chin doesn't count) my stylist asked him THREE TIME to pull his mask on before he finally pulled it up over his mouth but not his nose. She then asked him to put it all the way up and pulled it up for about a minute before complaining it was too hot and pulling it back down. 95% percent of the time this man failed to wear a mask over his mouth or nose and at no point did he actually wear it over both. The other stylist kept her mask over her mouth (for the most part) but refused to wear it over her nose, even when asked by myself and my stylist. It was a hot day, there is no denying that, but I wore my mask as did all the other clients. If you can't tolerate a mask, then you can't work with the public, period. It is not up for debate, there is a pandemic going on and people's lives are more important than your comfort. ~Stylist~ I want end by saying that my stylist, Annetta--"Girlfriend Hooked me up", was amazing. My hair is shinny and healthy and I have ZERO complaints about how she did my hair. This negative review is about the facility. I have left a five star review on her style page because she is great and has no control over what the owners of the salon allowed the other stylist to do.

Before I explain this experience I would like to mention how wonderful Sevena at Leeba on Comm ave…read more She does an outstanding job every single time I've always have a pleasant professional experience with her when I get a wax at Leeba on Comm Ave. I usually come to the Summer Street location for hair services with Adam who does an amazing job every single visit. I came to this location recently for a Brazilian wax and the woman who did it ruined the entire salon for me. She kept double dipping and using the same stick on me for the entire service. I explained to her it was unsanitary and she insisted she changes the stick for every person. I completed a cosmetology program this year and I know you're supposed to use a different stick after it comes in contact with the skin. She didn't even have professional products to remove the wax residue after, nor did she take proper care to remove it thoroughly with the over the counter products she had. A couple days later I noticed pieces of wax left on my skin from poor wax residue removal and when it came off it took off my skin with it. This caused scars from the wax on my private area. I was so upset I will never get another wax here again nor will I recommend anyone get a wax here. I had high expectations considering all the hair stylists do an amazing job here and Sevena never disappoints me at the same salon on Comm Ave. I've been coming here for a few years and I loved my experiences but this one scared me away for a while.

Also The 1 star goes for the cleanliness of the salon. I walked in with long hair, I had a pic and a specific length that we discussed and Julie seemed to know exactly what I was requesting. It was Nothing outrageous to say the least. She questioned me about my highlights and where I had them done as she flung a few pieces through her fingers. I thought that she was being nice. I didn't catch her sarcasm, unprofessionalism and rudeness until all was done and I was home. I also asked her to please not cut anything off of my bangs. She asked, "Oh, why? Because You cut them?" Shouldn't matter right? I thought to myself. So she had a good 6"to "HAVE AT IT & CHOP and still could have left me with that 3" of length that I still wanted. She also lobbed my layers so short they don't go to the elastic, are too short to curl up naturally and She left huge holes throughout. Holes: disconnected abrupt short to long layers that don't blend or make sense. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Nor could I say anything other than "Please THAT"S ENOUGH OFF!" THEN.. OOOH SHE JUST COULDN'T HELP HERSELF!! She just grabbed a chunk from center of my bang area, no sectioning & no blending !! Just chopped 2.5" off !! Yes Julie I did! I had cut them, I was growing them out & they were fine! ( I had been a hairstylist for 12 years in a couple of salons before I became sick and unable to work. I would have never done this to someone and so I never expected this type of strange treatment. WHO AND WHY DOES SOMEONE DO THIS TO SOMEONE???!! At cash out for this $50 wash, cut & blow dry I gave her 3/$20's and asked her for 2/$5's back, She had the nerve to get sarcastic again and say..."Oh..Why? Cause you want one back?" UGH! This shop may not have all the hoopla and bells and whistles with flashy stylists yacking on their cell phones acting as if they are doing you a favor by cuttung and styling your hair (you all know what I mean), but let me tell you, there is no doubt in my mind that there isn't any type of cut, color or styling that this woman could not do to perfection.
