I came here after reading so many great reviews and I had really high expectations. The place is between to Lou's Breakfast & liquor store. Time: haircut appointments at 30 mins max. I asked for a haircut-which I had before; I was going to cut more than 5". I noticed from the beginning Jenny used texturing (scissors with comb like teeth) scissors to cut off the length. I was not happy as I saw she did the remainder of the haircut the same way. I asked for a shampoo afterwards and knew that some parts of my scalp weren't washed properly either. When my hair dried at home I saw the zigzagy mess Jenny created, it looks like a kid cut my hair. For $85 dollar this was horrific! Save yourself the money! read more

Horrible place, very dirty, hair was everywhere. Jenny didn't even care to clean after last person. Now I'm very concern about catching COVID-19. Place is not safe. It's awful and she didn't clean any of her brushes. She is absolutely horrible hairstylist who doesn't know how to cut. I really regret not walking away after seeing how unclean place is. She gave me a horrible cut which makes me depressed! Absolutely don't recommend place and definitely don't recommend her as well. Don't go there otherwise you get coronavirus! read more

I scheduled over a week ago an appointment with the (owner Jenny) for today (Wednesday 11/25) at 11:15am, I'm shocked & appalled that when I walked in she was cutting another man's hair as it clearly is that she double booked me. I recently visited Hair Sheen salon for color and trimming. My hair stylist Jenny was very professional, listened carefully to what I needed and was super nice. She matched the color perfectly, and did a great job trimming and styling my hair. The salon is conveniently located by one of Los Gatos main streets and has good amount parking space. It's not that any of them are bad, it's more how they don't listen to what my wife wants and they do more of what they want, which never works out. We found Jenny from a local friends recommendation. Because a freind recommended her I was nervous for Jenny. But to my surprise, my wife was very happy, YAY!!! No more long drives to expensive salons and the endless complaints, of my wife's dissatisfactions until the next victim stylest had the opportunity of causing me the pain and anxiety of not getting it right. Hair sheen has been cutting my hair for close to 20 years. I have never had a bad cut. So glad they made it thru the pandemic - so far.

I hate to even give this place one star, it deserves a big fat zero! I went to Jenny after I left my previous stylist because her prices are just outrageous for the level of service, so I needed my roots done quickly before I began a search for a proper salon. My husband had gone to her for haircuts so I thought what the heck, how can you mess up a root touch up?? WRONG, she left my color in for 75 minutes, when any stylist would know that 50-55 minutes is the maximum!! She gave me "hot roots" which means she burned them and made them orange !!!! I let my roots heal and went back today to give her one more chance and she got major attitude when I sweetly told her what happened!! Wow, this place is a JOKE, dirty messy and is not a salon but a cheap Barbershop at best!! Be careful here she squeezes clients in between and is totally unprofessional in every way, glad I got out of there alive today!!!! read more

Jenny gave me basically half a haircut and a bad one at that. She had me sit in a chair with hair on it to start. I asked if she could do what I wanted multiple times, and she said yes & that she understood what I wanted. She didn't. I asked to leave some of my length and she just kept cutting & cutting even after I questioned her. I asked about shaping the back of my hair and it got worse. She didn't even offer to shave my undercut and still charged me full price. I was in tears in the chair & left in tears. Absolutely terrible. I have been coloring my hair for many years and have never found anyone as good as Jenny. She does California blonde better than anyone and for a lot less money. She is also very careful to recolor the same strands each time so I don't end up looking like a frizzy haired bleach blonde after a few months. It is a very unassuming shop and Jenny is always kind and professional. She also razor cuts my husbands hair and it's always perfect. Never lopsided which is easy to do with Asian hair. If I ever move I would probably have to fly back here just to get my hair done. read more

I called this morning at 11 and was able to get an appointment at 2:35. My hair was long and poofy, desperate for a cut. I was skeptical because she didn't wash my hair, only sprayed it with water, but it turned out really nice. She cut 3 inches off and it's very even. When I got home I washed it and it looks great. I will definitely be back. I noticed she cut the layers exactly how the other stylists have at the salon. You can't beat the price. It was 25 for a cut that usually costs me 65-75 at a fancy salon. read more

I do not typically write yelp reviews but I feel compelled do so. It is rare in this day and age that I find a local business owner who cares about her craft and her clientele the way that Jenn does. Hair Sheen is indeed a hidden gem of Los Gatos. No matter if you are a man or woman, young or old, this place has what you need. My youngest son, who is on the autistic spectrum, has been having Jenny cut his hair for the past 8 years. She is literally the only person he will let near his head with scissors. Who doesn't like a hair stylist with a warm smile and a great personality. Unlike my brother who also sees Jenny and meticulously makes his appointments 3-4 weeks in advance, I typically wake up and decide that I need a haircut with only a day or two notice. Jenny has been known to stay late, come in early or even come in on her day off to accommodate a customer. if that isn't customer service, I don't know what is. If you are looking for the latest style or you are like me and just want someone who helps you look better as you exit the shop than when you entered it, you should call and make an appointment. Honestly, this was the worst hair cut I've ever had. I needed a hair cut badly and cheaply. I found time after school to go get my hair done. I called at 12 and asked if they were free at 2:30 and luckily they were! When I got there I wasn't too impressed by the outside... or inside for that matter, but I was hoping it would be a little gem. Unfortunately not. When I came in I asked for a dye and cut job... I only got the cut job even though I asked about it a lot. After the hair wash she sat me down in the chair with dripping wet hair. I had to direct her far too much as everything she was doing my hair as what she was doing didn't work. Even after all the direction I didn't get what I had asked for. It cost $35 for all of it when I had been told a cut was $20. I was not impressed or happy and left with a bad haircut Overall experience: not nicely presented place Rushed No dye job after asking numerous times far too expensive for what I got, I'd pay my dog more, he'd do a better job end product is very bad... very bad Unless you want a simple trim don't bother even thinking about going there read more

Jenny is very friendly, does a wonderful job on my hair, and has reasonable prices. Those three things keep me coming back. She recently added a person (Helen) for Manicures and Pedicures and also along with two of those comfy massage chairs! I enjoy the option of having a Mani or Pedi when my color is setting. I was referred to Jenny by a former coworker. It can be hard to miss because it is a tiny place in an equally tiny strip mall that doesn't look all that nice from the outside. At least not Los Gatos nice. Parking can be a little complicated. They don't have that many spaces, and the lines are not clearly marked. I got a simple cut and it turned out well. I like that she doesn't use razors to cut hair. It was around $14, I believe, but this was back in 2005 or so. Very good price. Update: I came back several days ago to see Jenny again. Price was $30 for a shampoo and trim. I thought the shampoo was rather rushed and she left my hair dripping wet as I walked over to the chair. I also had her give me some bangs, which came out too long, so she redid them. I like how she styled and blow-dried it - if only I could do that myself at home. read more

I was referred by a co-worker to see Jenny for Thermal hair straightening in 2007 - it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Her salon is located in a very accessible area of Los Gatos, but I suggest you look for it on Google Street View maps if you dont want to avoid missing it. It's very 'hole in wall' but dont let the appearances from the outside putyou off. My one con: I can only make time for any hair appointments on Saturday mornings... this is also the mornings that the inconsiderate soccer Mums want to bring their 4 screaming kids in for 'walk in' haircuts that they assure everyone will only take 'a minute'... Ive had this happen several times now, and I think Jenny is too nice to tell them to come back later or make an appointment like normal people so I've literally had a 2 hour hair appointment turn into 3.5 hours because of shitheads with their SUVs full of kids turning up unannounced. If you are blessed with the time to go mid-week, it makes a better option than the weekends. read more

Jenny is a genius! I go to her when I'm bitten by an extreme hairdo makeover bug (which I get once in a few years) and she never disappoints. All I do is show her a picture of the haircut I want and she cuts away like Edward Scissorhands and style away! And she passes my test of a good haircut: even when my hair gets longer, it still looks good! My only pet peeve about coming here is that she has so many "regulars" that just pop in whenever they want and of course, Jenny being Jenny, accommodates them all leaving you to wait that extra 5-10-15minutes depending on how many of them cuts in your appointment time. read more

Lynn has been doing my manicures and pedicures for the same amount of time. They are very friendly and accommodating.
