Haitian food is hard to find in Atlanta. Good Haitian food is even harder to find! This was a low key restaurant that serves good food. I ordered griot and black rice and received enough rice for 2-3 servings. I received a normal portion of pork. The plantains were some of the best I ever tasted! The pikliz was fresh and spicy! So glad I ordered extra. The girl that took my order was very nice :)

There are not many Haitian restaurants that are close to where I live, so we have to drive a little way to find one. We had a go to spot, but they changed owners and the food has not been so good, so decided to go and try the Haitian cooking Depot. Now, let me start by saying, if you're in a hurry, this is not the place to go. We ordered two plates of griot, they are served with your choice of rice, fried plantain and a salad. I wanted to order a Haitian beef patty and they didn't have it. The food is prepared as fresh as it could be which is why there is a wait. The meat tasted a little fishy like it was fried in the same grease that they fried the fish in. The pickliz was very spicy, so taste it before you put it on everything to make sure you like the level of spice. My husband is very picky about Haitian food because he wants what he had growing up, and realizing that different people make some dishes differently, this would not be his choice for Haitian food. There is an indoor seating area and outdoor covered patio that is enclosed with a vinyl type covering. I didn't go sit outside since there was plenty of seating inside as there was only one other person dining in. I would go back if I was in the area, but I won't make the drive to go out of my way to come back.

Hi guys ! This Haitian spot is the closest to me so I had to order. I got the malanga fritters and griot platter. The food was good, only complaint is that griot came with lots of fatty pork which I didn't eat. I never eat the salads that come with Haitian foods so I don't have anything to say about that. The rice was the best part in my opinion, so delicious that I could have it everyday. Prices were good, definitely will come in the store next time I'm in the area. I haven't had Haitian food in a while and this was really nice

Best kept secret! They could use a little more speed, but the food is worth the wait.

This is a Haitian or creole restaurant and boy have I been missing this yummy food since I have left South FloridA! The food was amazing!! You can see the old-school people in the back cooking and making your food to order. I had fried turkey with rice and beans which you can get on the light lunch special for 899. However there was a bit of disconnect which was the loss of the star in language barrier from the young lady at the cashier. Additionally on top of the language barrier you could tell she got a little frustrated so if you order be sure to point to it on the menu also so there's no confusion. I said rice and beans the first time she gave me white rice then I said lunch and she gave me the dinner. And that point I just paid for it and kept it moving but it was worth it all at the end when I tasted the food because it was definitely off the chain!! I definitely recommend you make it part of your repertoire if you're in the area Because I'm sure I'll be going at least once a week! Love supporting small business owners and even more so yummy food for a great value!

I almost got whiplash trying to turn my head to make sure it said what I thought. I was in the right lane and couldn't get over to the left. I google Haitian food near me to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me. I called and said where are yall located. I said I will be there shortly. I was on 2 wheels turning around to get here. None of these details matter but I really need you all to understand lol. I walked in and immediately ordered. I've been craving griot for 2 years. The last time I had amazing griot was a Haitian spot in Paris. The lady who took my order was nice. There were some Haitians inside so I knew the food was about to be fire!! I got my food kinda quick and walked out. In the parking lot, I yelled out to a guy who was inside and said "I'm about to go home and beat this food down!" He chuckled and asked if I was Haitian. (I'm not but this food that's about to be in my tummy is!) This place right here does not disappoint. The food was hot and tasty... the pikliz was good and spicy! Ooooh weeee. I will be back and I'm a little to spread the word! My goodness. Thank you for opening up on Stockbridge!!!

This was my first time trying Haitian food and overall it was a pleasant surprise. Service was a little slow but I've read that everything is cooked to order. The restaurant can accommodate maybe solo visits or a small group if you want to eat in. I and many other patrons took our food to go. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

The food quality and quantity also are contributing factors. The artwork throughout including history pieces on the origin of the Haitian flag, and a prominent display of leadership which included my great, great, great, grandfather brought joy to my heart! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal which consisted of kabrit (goat), Djon Djon rice, green plantain and salad. I did request extra pikliz and gravy, as the gravy doubles as my salad dressing due to the rich flavor. The ample portions allowed for two additional meals, which were equally delicious as the seasoning marinated additionally. Everything was fresh. The rolls I purchased were soft to the touch and I was assured that they were baked that day after inquiring. They reminded me of my father, also of Haitian descent, and the bakery in South Florida near parent's retirement community. My dad would take me there and we would get fresh Haitian bread and rolls. Truly, one of the best nostalgic moments with the reminder of him and the delicious food. The location provided ample parking, and was not crowded when I first arrived. I placed my order after looking at all the offerings, including jams and other Haitian baked goods. Although I was assured that my food would be ready in about 15 minutes, it was closer to 30. Several people came in after me picking up large orders. My order taker acknowledged that my food would be ready soon, and I appreciated that. Thankfully, I was not in a rush. Do keep that in mind when visiting, and ordering in advance may be an option. I will definitely return to try my other favorites, including griot (despite limiting pork intake...smh) and legume. Truly pleased to find a great Haitian restaurant in Gwinnett. Shout out to the Tik Tok person who brought it to my attention in her post!

The first time, I still had about a 10-15 minute wait even after the app said my food was ready. This second time, I was able to get my order right away when I walked in. The staff is always friendly regardless of wait time. The restaurant is really a grab and go location; there isn't sufficient space or set-up for dining in. Each time I've been, there has been consistent for traffic in and out, so it's pretty popular. On my first visit (while standing around waiting for my order to be ready), I learned from listening to other ppl order that there is a lunch special where the meals featuring chicken are cheaper. I believe it goes thru 1pm. In my first visit, I tried lots of things and was largely disappointed in the taste. I had the brown stewed chicken and oxtail meals (both ordered with heavy gravy), a turkey wing, a chicken soup, and coco bread. The oxtails were the only thing I truly enjoyed. The sides on the meals were just okay except the plantains. The plantains were hard and dry, truly inedible. The chicken soup wasn't flavorful enough; I wouldn't order it again. For me, the turkey wing seasoning was too spicy, but my husband enjoyed it. On this second visit, I went only to pick up two turkey wings for my husband, as he has continued to talk about trying the turkey wing again. He ate them both for dinner along with some homemade rice a d veggies. He wanted to order sides but I discouraged that based on the first experience. Pete's is located in a strip mall that seems to have some other Caribbean businesses, including a market next door. The parking lot has an approaching need for repavement and line repainting. *uploaded pics are from first visit*
