I have been going to Halal bros since I was in undergrad. This is my first time at the location up north. I got the falafel over rice and it was awesome. The rice is always fresh and the falafel is always freshly fried and warm. You can adjust the amount of creamy and spicy sauce you want because they have extra bottles in the cooler. Halal Bros is reasonably close to me, but I often find myself wanting to go elsewhere. The lamb shawarma is very good and flavorful, but the chicken shawarma leaves a lot to be desired. The last time I ordered from here, I got the chicken shawarma over rice and it was all so flavorless. I had to add sriracha to add a little bit of spice. The prices are also extremely high for a casual takeout place... almost $18 for a chicken rice bowl and $16 for a lamb wrap?! You do get a lot of food, but when it's sub par, it is not worth it to me. read more

I went here for lunch today. After reading some of the reviews I decided that beef shawarma over salad was the way to go. Yelpers were spot on in their reviews that the beef shawarma is delicious. It really was that good and I liked the salad they made for me except it had too much lettuce and could've used some olives. Also the sauce on the beef was a bit much. I will ask for that on the side next time. The portion size was really good. My tummy was stuffed afterwards. As for the service, the lady working the register today was either not having her best day or just didn't care one way or another. Seriously, she was just going through the motions.
