Only Mediterranean place I've found in Austin that I really truly love so far and I can tell you why, creamy jalapeño. The P1 with beef is a rice plate with beef, side of salad (normally romaine but due to diseased lettuce current picture shows iceberg) covered in the most incredible creamy jalapeño sauce. I hear they're opening halal wings next door which I'm eager to try. My partner finds the gyro meat a bit salty for his liking which makes me salty, as this is my favorite place on the planet currently. So say bye to that hater and get yourself down to Halal Corner. Fantastic food. I've had this exact concept of food several times in several different places but hands down this was the best. The spicy sauce was on point and made me want to gulp my water - The perfect amount of spice balanced with their yogurt sauce on the rice and chicken. The gyro meat, beef shwarma, and chickens are all excellent. I didn't like their eggplant dip very much but the rest of my family did. This is a fast food type place but the Service was wonderful. We opted to eat outside initially and a bee landed right in my husband's food before he had taken a bite. It buried itself in the yogurt sauce and he just took it back inside and showed it to them and they made him a fresh plate without any questions asked. Didn't realize this place was another kismet so we drove all the way here to try it. I decided to get the P2 which is very similar to halal bro's chicken over rice. It may seem like a larger portion because they put larger chunks of vegetables but I think you get more for your money at halal bro's. It was pretty decent with a more nutty flavor compared to halal bro's. I also got their fresh squeezed orange juice. $4 for a cup of that isn't really worth it but it was delicious and went well with my meal. I probably won't be going back to this location because kismet is closer but this location is much more spacious and nicely decorated. read more

The rice was cooked perfectly and the salad was tossed in a light dressing. Don't sleep on that hummus, it's a great paring with the bread and gyro. Really wanted to love this place since it had a great yelp rating. However, since we have experienced other good or great Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurants in Austin this place fell short of our expectations. It's a good place to go if your in the neighborhood and looking for a good decent place to eat. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The service is welcoming and friendly. The indoor/outdoor seating is extensive and pleasant. We ordered the chicken Shawarma plate and the gyro plate. The meat in the dishes was good as was the hummus. The lentil soup is delicious. The salad was soggy and did not taste fresh. The pita bread was hard and crusty. Since we eat a good deal of middle eastern foods, we would not come back here to eat since we have other favorites in the same price range. read more

Timing was convenient since one of my micro preemie twin nephews had a doc's visit at Dell Children's Medical Center nearby. Y'all are lucky to have THC as an option for daily good eats. Since the menu was uber simple she was able to call us, give options, and quickly order to-go. A smooth transaction. We all chose the P3. My meat option was their roasted chicken shawarma over seasoned rice w/a side of hummus, salad, and separately wrapped pita. Pic will complete the description. As always, you're welcome. TL;DR: This place is amazing, any time of day. My boyfriend and I decided to go downtown one Saturday evening - we waited close to two hours at a popular food spot only to finally be seated at a table with extremely loud music playing and flies flying in my face. At that point I wasn't having much of anything and so we decided to give up on the evening and head home. On the way back, I tried to think of places we could go that might still be open where we could grab a quick bite - happily I saw that Halal Corner was open. I had the vegetarian mezze, boyfriend had a combo gyro wrap, and both were excellent. I've had food here for lunch and dinner and always loved it. However, this food we got late in the evening - even right before closing - was absolutely amazing. I am absolutely floored by how consistently good this place is. On top of all of that, the employees are always patient and wonderful no matter who is working. In short, highly recommend. 10/10 food, 10/10 service, 10/10 consistency. Amazing!!! Bravo! read more

I have exclusively ordered pick-up during the time of COVID-19. The P-2 is my current go-to dish because it is a balance of salad, rice, and meat with delicious white sauce. I have also ordered dolmas, falafel, and tried the chicken/shawarma! It's so good! The mobile ordering experience from the website is very, very bad. It's exceptionally bad for here and Halal Wings. This does not take away from how delicious the food is. The food is always ready when it is supposed to be ready, so that's definitely a plus! read more

It would be helpful if you warn customers that certain dishes take 25-35 minutes to prepare prior to ordering or place notifications on the menu items due to your self-service POS model. I did not have any issues with service like some mentioned, but the young man was not very helpful up front while taking my order. So I felt rushed and did not had time to order what I wanted. I should have taken pictures of my meal since I ordered three different plates to show how different they looked from what I see on yelp reviewers' pics. Only rice! Well I would say LOTS of rice and less meat. Chicken was half of what I see on picture here and kofte kabob was spread to make an impression of that you get at least some meat... seriously I should take pictures to share. Another thing that they close at 10 and boys were taken trash out right in front of customers dining in. Time was 7.40 pm. There were four huge bags, needles to say they even had to put wet floor sign because they were leaking. Not a good impression at all. P.S. When we called, they admitted error but the manager gave us attitude and wanted us to return the salad to switch it out for the correct one. This defeats the purpose of paying for delivery!!! It would have been 4 stars with above standard food and delicious falafel. But the customer service... The girl who answered my call had zero people skills. She said this: "Halal corner what is it" "Yes" "No" In the crudest tone ever, I work in law and that's coming from me. When we got there and were ordering, same girl I recognized from the phone, she made the crudest face ever. Excuse me? Who thinks putting someone like that in the frontline is a good idea for business? I will make sure none of my folks or friends come here again. Learn some manners, decency and etiquette. Or hire better people. If that's the owners daughter, more of a reason not to go. Update: I am changing my review from 1 star to 3- I am impressed by the owners addressing of the situation after I made it known. For the money and food, I could easily go to Halal Bros or Halal Guys or Kismet, etc. it's convenient though - I saw a lot of people do take out. It's a good option in the Mueller area, I just don't know how long the restaurant can survive if 7 of 10 people take-out instead of dine-in. Just walked out after sitting at the table waiting twenty minutes for our order. No explanation, only a very curt, dimissive employee who seemed like he didn't want to be bothered with us. I should've followed my gut instinct and high-tailed it out of there when I saw him repeatedly rub his nose without cleaning his hands. When he put the lids on our cups, I cringed at how filthy his nails were, but because we were hungry, I sucked it up. Looking at the dining area was no better. Not one, not two, but THREE overflowing trashcans?!? I counted four gentlemen behind the counter and not one could take out the garbage? It certainly wasn't the preparation of our food that was consuming all of their time. My husband asked Mr. "Can't Be Bothered" about our food and was gestured over to an empty food line and told, "It's coming now." We decided to play along. Five minutes later he walks up to us at our table, sans food and says, "It takes twenty minutes. It'll be ready soon." We got up, asked for a refund and discussed with another guy how we were NOT told our food would take twenty minutes, and that even if he DID tell us, there was STILL no food in sight, half an hour later. The rice seemed reheated and was not fresh. I tasted everything and had to throw out the rest in the trash. It was inedible. Honestly don't know how this place is still open. You can get good portions here for the price. I ordered a P2 entree and like that you can combo two different meat/veggie options for no extra. For me it can last me about 2-3 meals. Service wise I feel like they could be a bit faster. I've never eaten in so I'm not sure if the experience would be different. My first time trying this place- having worked in traditional Mediterranean restaurants before and a lot of experience in different categories of food types- I would say it was a pretty decent meal! I love that you can order a plate/ sandwich and have a variety of different sides on the menu. I ordered the chicken arabi plate 5. Amazing prices for what you get!! That's the best part. The garlic sauce- paired perfect with the sandwich. The hummus, was fresh and creamier than other places. They have me fattoush instead of the tabouli it said it came with. Not a fan of the fattoush salad, it was soggy and too simple, lacked the fattoush chips. The meat was seasoned well, it didn't have any strong aftertaste to it I will probably bring more people here! This place drives me crazy. 75% of the time they get my to-go order wrong but I keep ordering from them because it's just so damn delicious. I can't stop wanting it but I want to so bad. I always order the P4 plate with sheesh kabob. It looks like two logs of sh-t on rice. Despite its looks, it is so good trust me. Eat it with your eyes closed. Anyway, instead of the sauce it comes with, I ask them to switch to the garlic sauce (out of this world delicious). And the plate used to come with tabbouleh as a side dish by default, but they changed it to this really sad salad. So I always ask for them to change it back to my beloved tabbouleh. They get this wrong so often. I'm smart enough now to check by opening the box of food every time I pick it up, but when I order through a delivery service, especially with this zombie apocalypse going on, I can't expect nor do I want the delivery driver to check. Which reminds me, I just need to shut the hell up and stop whining about little things like garlic sauce and tabbouleh and support this wonderfully awful delicious restaurant! read more

This review is for the Falafel Plate only - Falafels were DRY - no flavor unless you added more sauce which would add moisture- and I was told the Crazy plate would have white and jalapeño sauce, it didn't! - I did pay for extra sauces as well. As all the other reviewers noted - only yes or no answers - don't ask to add extra meat - maybe their POS register can't be programmed for extras (even when you're willing to pay)! read more

Not a bad place. I ordered the P1 and it had good flavor. I just felt that the food was not warm enough (temperature-wise). It wasn't cold but I preferred that the meat and rice were warmer. This was our first visit here and we were excited to try it reading the reviews and seeing the menu. We were not disappointed. Between us, we ordered the following: -P4 - with Mixed Kabab, and, Mashawi - Mediterranean BBQ Over Rice (Grilled On Open Fire), served With Hummus, Tabouleh, Pita, and Tomato Sauce...the Hummus was really good - very creamy with a great flavor, the Pita was pretty good as well, the tomato sauce was very pleasing to the pallet...not spicy but well flavored, and the Tabouleh was ok, I have had better else where...I do not think I was a fan of the large chopped onions in it.. a bit too much... but other than that, this dish was really good. The meat was plentiful and delicious ... we would get this again -Beef Shawarma Wrap - my first time trying Beef Shawarma. This wrap comes with Lettuce Tomato, and Tahini Sauce...I enjoyed this wrap very much and would purchase it again. -Cauliflower Side - This was my favorite dish out of all the ones we tried... the cauliflower was perfectly cooked and had this delicious roasted flavor to it... wish I could cook this at home, it was very good As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smiling host who takes the orders. He had a pleasant demeanor about him and it seemed he thoroughly enjoyed what he was doing. The place was clean and there was plenty of outside sitting tables to enjoy your meal.
