They worked constantly to ensure all the dishes were fresh and fully stocked the entire time we were there. The highlight of the visit, however, was the incredible customer service. A staff member made it a point to stop by our table and let us know that if we give them a heads up before our next visit, they can actually make accommodations for the buffet in terms of what sort of items are available. Knowing they are so willing to tailor the options to their guests' preferences is amazing. I truly appreciated both the high quality of the food and the welcoming service. The building itself seems to have been updated recently. There's tons of seating indoors, and it seems like they do a lot of takeout business. The staff is friendly, and the menu is pretty expansive. You'll find your usual standard fare for hot chicken, with a splash of Indian (Desi) and Korean thrown in as well! You can tell the menu is catered to the current hot chicken craze among Millennials/ Gen Z (see also: "tendies"). The service can be a bit slow right after they open. We arrived right at 11 and found that tbey were still heating up oil, etc-- it took 20-30 minutes for our orders to arrive, making it a tight fit for the lunch break. The real tough pill to swallow for me is the spice level experienced. I ordered the tenders in "cluckin hot" and I can assure you that they were cluckin not. Not spicy. Heavy breading. The cauliflower falls out of some of the breading. The Daal soup is good, although quite watery. The mango and butter chicken sauce flavors are good, the spicy is definitely got a healthy kick. The chicken pieces are big chunks and they are dry and overcooked. The butter naan is good soft and billowy. The Chana and dal tadka tasted okay, although I did find either a white hair or white stringy lint in the Chana. I was told it might be onion or ginger. Some tandoori chicken is smoking and it's making us cough some. It's tickling our noses. We had to pay quickly and get out of there.

Thankfully, we caught it, and the staff promptly corrected the mistake and refunded the difference back to our card, which we appreciated. For food, my husband ordered the chicken siciliano with a baby Greek salad and lemon rice soup, and I went with a BLT. Everything was delicious, just like we've come to expect from Athenian.
