    26. Beef Tikka and Chicken Tikka Kebab
    J. Lawrence N.

This is based on a take out order. And honestly, having driven past his place before, it was on our skip list. But I took the chance to try something different. I got the beef and chicken tikka. It was okay. Not the best. Not the worst. The chicken was very dry. I also ordered the baklava for the hubby, because he loves baklava. He couldn't even finish one bite. Maybe others should go by the other reviews which seemed to really like this place. It was eh for me and not a place I'll try again.

We ordered take-out again and even though they had new menu prices jacked up a little bit, the food was good. I think the beef was under-done but it was perfect for me. Even with the troubling communication, they were friendly and extremely accommodating. Once again, i got the extra sauces that I asked for and the meat was tender and cooked extremely well. They didn't have the Baba ghanoush that I wanted but I ordered the hummus instead. It was a little plan but taste it homemade. Both these items are made in house. The only thing that was disappointing was the garlic non-, it didn't have much garlic flavor and overpriced considering the rest of the menu in comparison. It cured the crave and I was happy.

Good afghan food. Affordable and clean. They give a lot of meat in the portion. It did take about 30+ mins for the food to come, but I assume that's cause they are making it fresh. I really enjoyed the beef kofta, chicken kofta combo ($9). My husband got beef tikka ($10) which was good too! White sauce is delicious as well. Highly recommended!!

Upscale vibes in a budget friendly diner? Why not. Fresh cut flowers on every table btw

This new halal diner absolutely rocks! It punches way above its weight in terms of quality of food, taste, affordability and overall service. I've tried a lot of dishes on the menu now and you can't go wrong with any of them. The only thing I would like to note is that the regular beef kebab (not the ground one) was a little dry for my taste but delicious nevertheless. The milk tea and dessert is a must after a great meal. Keep in mind that it takes a little longer for the food to be prepared, but it's definitely worth the wait. Welcome to the neighborhood

That's the hair that was in my food.

This is solely based on take out. I place my order was told it would take 20 minutes. I went in at exactly 20 mins and it was ready. I asked for extra sauce and only one more white and green sauce were added, no biggie. I get home to try this chicken tikka and chicken kofta.... bammm, a hair in the food. I'm already home and not going back. I also ordered chicken tikka and beef kofta (no hair) it was pretty good. I order pizza for my son, let's just say I should have went to a pizzeria. The pizza seems to be one of those frozen pizza and u just heat it up. I would give this place 4 stars if it wasn't for the hair in my dish.

The cashier, Sahan, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional from the start. What stood out the most was how unfairly customers were being treated. I had been waiting to be helped, but instead of serving people in the order they arrived, he skipped over me and chose to help female customers who came after me. It was very obvious and felt extremely disrespectful. When I tried to address my concerns, the situation only got worse. Sahan claimed he was the supervisor, but when I asked to speak with management, he refused and would not provide any way for me to contact someone above him. Rather than trying to help resolve the issue, he acted like he didn't care at all and made the whole interaction unnecessarily frustrating. On top of the poor attitude, he seemed unwilling to answer simple questions properly and came across as incompetent when handling basic customer service. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the issue, and no effort to treat customers fairly or professionally. I came here expecting good food and decent service, but the way I was treated left a terrible impression. Customers deserve respect, fairness, and professionalism regardless of who they are. Management seriously needs to pay attention to how staff members like Sahan are representing this business, because experiences like this are exactly why people choose not to come back.

Based on the menu we wanted, Khalil Biryani ended up being the one with the best rates per person. A few restaurants had cheaper fixed catering packages, but once we swapped in the dishes we actually wanted, their prices ended up being higher. We worked with Rubel at the Jamaica location and he was patient, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. On the event day, the food was delivered right on time. Everything was packaged well and they included clear instructions on how to handle the food so it stayed fresh until serving. For appetizers, we ordered 70 chicken samosas, but they gave us 80. In fact, they were generous with all the catering trays and gave us noticeably more food than we expected which we really appreciated. For the mains, the beef biryani was awesome. The taste actually reminded me more of a beef tehari than a traditional biryani but that wasn't a bad thing. The beef was cooked perfectly, tender, and very flavorful. The eggs for the biryani was given seperately so they didn't get soggy and broken. My only room for improvement here is the meat distribution between the trays. The overall amount of meat was perfect, but the first two trays had too much meat and not enough rice, while the last two trays were mostly rice. The chicken roast was another standout. The spices were well balanced, the chicken was fall off the bone tender and it received compliments from just about everyone. The shami kababs were probably the weakest item. They were okay. I've definitely had more flavorful versions elsewhere. There was also a simple salad that was included. For dessert, the gulab jamuns were the best we've had in NYC so far. Overall, the beef biryani, chicken roast, and gulab jamuns completely exceeded our expectations. We had several guests ask where the food was from, including people who live in the area and have plenty of access to Bangladeshi restaurants. That says a lot. Kudos to the Khalil Biryani team for helping make our event a success.

So on my way to meet my friends I decided to stop by. Upon searching on google it says opens at 1 pm, but they actually opens around 3/4 pm. I Gus's because it's a snack place, most desi people will come in the evening. Some young Bangladeshi friends decided to open a authentic Bangladeshi snack place, what an awesome thing to do! Rather then living on minimum wage at Dunkin' Donuts or McDonald's ! They decided they wanna try something different & make money for a better future! The owners are nice, very welcoming & super helpful. I ordered chatpati & lemonade! Both tasted great! Was full, so could not try out fuchka or faluda. Maybe after a month I will stop by again just to see how it's going. I hope this place does really well & have more Bangladeshisnacks in time, which we all Bangladeshis miss terribly I also wish I lived in Jamaica I would been their every day customer! I saw someone in google complaint about the price being high. I have to say this, so here it goes : 'We desi people will pay way more to an American food place without a single complaint! But don't wanna pay decent amount to our own kind! ' Really sad & disappointing! Please lets help our small desi restaurants to grow ! Don't be be so judgmental, they just opened. Give them some time so handle things! It's not that easy to open a business & make everything perfect in weeks! Btw , the food is actually pretty good. As long as their food is great & they keep the place nice & clean please don't complain! Instead encourage, so they do much better in future
