The price is sott of reasonable otherwise they could do a lot better. I ordered lamb kabob. First one of the server kept turning up the music. The lyrics of the songs were obscene and nothing suitable in my opinion at a restaurant. His other co-workers kept changing the songs and turned the volume down But he was not happy about it. Pros- good food, good portions, decent price, inside is nice and clean, lots of food and drink options Cons- the cashier was very confused putting our order in and almost charged us for a combo plus each side and drink individually and needed our help to fix it. They also don't make it clear that there are options to customize the toppings and sauces, so if you sit down and wait for your name to be called for the food you will miss the opportunity to add feta and veggies to your meal. I was excited to check out this new location since it's been years since I had them. I came on a weekday afternoon an it wasn't busy. I walked in and waited to order. There were 4 guys behind the counter seemingly just standing there as if they were all waiting for something. No one greeted me or said "hi, we'll be right with you." I just stood there at the counter waiting to be acknowledged for about 5 minutes. It was a bit strange. The Bashir family (he's from Pakistan, she's from the Dominican Republic) built a true fusion of Caribbean + Mediterranean flavors that somehow feels totally Charlotte. I went with the Chicken Over Rice Platter - tender, seasoned chicken on warm rice with fresh veggies, pita, and their famous white sauce. Trust me... that sauce is the secret weapon and should be applied generously. Service was quick, portions were perfect, and the whole place gives off that global-street-food energy that fits Camp North End perfectly. They started back in 2014 with Mi Barrio Halal Latin Grill, grew from Uptown food carts, and now they're here years later serving flavor, family, and culture in every bite. One of my favorite things to do in the city is attend Camp North End's free outdoor movie nights partnered with Aurora Cinema. During this visit my sister and I grabbed dinner from Halal Street Food and were shocked by the huge portion sizes at a decent price. I got the chicken gyro platter which included meat, rice, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and a delicious sauce. The menu had a wide variety of options and a lot of customization ability in terms of toppings, sauces, etc. There's always something exciting going on at Camp North End and now you can grab some delicious street food to pair with your outing. This location is great with some indoor and lots of outdoor seating as well as an easy ordering system. I will definitely be coming back here on my next visit to Camp North End! read more

Back to the carts I go! We usually come here every week, but I'm not sure if there's new ownership or what--last weekend they didn't give us our bread, and this time they were super skimpy on portion sizes and nickel-and-dimed us for extra sauces that used to be free. One of the young staff members told us they now charge $0.50 per teaspoon of sauce. Why? He said, "It's bad for business to give them out for free." You know what else is bad for business? Giving customers less product for more money and then charging $0.50 for teaspoons of sauce. I get it, I get it - inflation; however, I didn't start coming here until after inflation took a huge hike. If this were the only Mediterranean spot around, maybe I'd deal--but it's not. I can go to the carts and get way more for $8.99. I used to be willing to pay more here because the portions were fair and the staff was friendly. But now? Great addition to Camp North End! I'm talking very good Mediterranean food. My boys and I were trying to find something to eat on Memorial Day and stumbled upon this restaurant. We were greeted so kindly upon entering. The servers were very helpful at explaining the menu and patient with us making our selection. The vibe of the place was very upbeat, and the music definitely set the tone. Everyone just seemed happy to be there. I settled on the lamb shawarma, and my boys went with falafel over rice, with a side salad and a vegan wrap. Two of our dishes came with fries. He loved all the meats; as I'm not a fan of lamb unfortunately but the Chicken, Rice and salad on his was very tasty! I ordered extra chicken and got a little sauce but nothing like the cart gives downtown. We are sitting here eating dry halal. Last time it as flatware and I was at a brewery scrounging for forks. The time before that I ordered extra chicken and got chicken and something else--no idea what it was but i cannot digest beef so I couldn't eat it. I ordered over $100 worth of food for takeout and when I picked it up, I said I have two orders, one under myself and another one under another family member that was in our group. They handed us two bags and said here's your order for Bryan and the other family member and I left the restaurant. When I arrived to where I was going, I opened up the bags and one order was missing two items and another order was totally wrong. I went back to the restaurant and told them about the issue and the gentleman behind the counter who organized our bags said you should've told me that your order was with GrubHub because I didn't know so I gave you somebody else else's order, blaming me for picking up the wrong order.
