Chicken Combo Over Rice and lamb doner 4/5

Located in camp north end. Food was fresh. Very fast casual with some seating inside. Service was good with generous portion sizes. Chicken and rice 4/5 and lamb doner 4/5

I was excited to check out this new location since it's been years since I had them. I came on a weekday afternoon an it wasn't busy. I walked in and waited to order. There were 4 guys behind the counter seemingly just standing there as if they were all waiting for something. No one greeted me or said "hi, we'll be right with you." I just stood there at the counter waiting to be acknowledged for about 5 minutes. It was a bit strange. Finally a young man came over and greeted me and he was very nice, so that kind of saved the trip. I was a bit confused. I ordered the lamb gyro with a side greek salad. Both were really good, a great option for lunch.

I've tried Halal Street Food at Camp North End a couple times now and wow... this spot gets it right every time. The Bashir family (he's from Pakistan, she's from the Dominican Republic) built a true fusion of Caribbean + Mediterranean flavors that somehow feels totally Charlotte. I went with the Chicken Over Rice Platter - tender, seasoned chicken on warm rice with fresh veggies, pita, and their famous white sauce. Trust me... that sauce is the secret weapon and should be applied generously. Service was quick, portions were perfect, and the whole place gives off that global-street-food energy that fits Camp North End perfectly. They started back in 2014 with Mi Barrio Halal Latin Grill, grew from Uptown food carts, and now they're here years later serving flavor, family, and culture in every bite. I wish feta was included.. yes its available, but for a fee and I think thats a crime. Until feta becomes standard issue this is a 4-star recommendation if you're on the North End.

One of my favorite things to do in the city is attend Camp North End's free outdoor movie nights partnered with Aurora Cinema. During this visit my sister and I grabbed dinner from Halal Street Food and were shocked by the huge portion sizes at a decent price. I got the chicken gyro platter which included meat, rice, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and a delicious sauce. The menu had a wide variety of options and a lot of customization ability in terms of toppings, sauces, etc. There's always something exciting going on at Camp North End and now you can grab some delicious street food to pair with your outing. This location is great with some indoor and lots of outdoor seating as well as an easy ordering system. I will definitely be coming back here on my next visit to Camp North End!

Tried this for the first time and loved it. Small inside - only about 4 tables but wasn't an issue. Food was excellent, the prices were good and really big portions. Neither me nor my husband were able to finish our dinner. Highly recommend the white sauce and the garlic sauce. Will absolutely be back - want to try the pita chips next time!

Halal street food is in Camp North End. Camp North End is huge and beautiful! Halal street food is very delicious. Make sure to get some of the Garlic sauce!! They had some beverages from over seas and it was good. The food was overall good and I felt healthy eating it . Service was quick and fast. There were seating inside and outside (shaded). So stop by if you're in the area!!!

Great addition to Camp North End! I'm talking very good Mediterranean food. My boys and I were trying to find something to eat on Memorial Day and stumbled upon this restaurant. We were greeted so kindly upon entering. The servers were very helpful at explaining the menu and patient with us making our selection. The vibe of the place was very upbeat, and the music definitely set the tone. Everyone just seemed happy to be there. I settled on the lamb shawarma, and my boys went with falafel over rice, with a side salad and a vegan wrap. Two of our dishes came with fries. We each samples the others, and I must say, everything was delicious. The lamb was tender and juicy. It just melted in your mouth. This is on my list to try again the next time I visit.

    Try their juices!

Five stars for sure. We were in the area and wanted to try something different for lunch and found this gem in Camp North End. We hoped the food would be as amazing as the customer service and it was. We were greeted so warmly and treated patiently as we probably mispronounced everything we ordered! I ordered a lamb gyro plain. I love that the lamb is carved right in front of you and fresh for each guest. I made it a meal which included a drink and fries. My husband and I were curious about their fruit drinks. The server noticed our curiosity and gave us samples to try. Oh my goodness! Those juices were delicious. We enjoyed them so much that they gave us complimentary ones. My meal was delicious. My gyro was flavorful and packed with delicious lamb. The fries were seasoned well and piping hot! Try their dipping sauce with your fries. We will definitely be going back.

We just tried this place with Deivery from Uber Eats. FANTASTIC AUTHENTIC HALAL FOOD Potions were large Service as we called to ask for extra sauces, he was SUPER NICE AND VERY HELPFUL. My husband got the King Meat Platter and I got the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and Falafel. He loved all the meats; as I'm not a fan of lamb unfortunately but the Chicken, Rice and salad on his was very tasty! My Chicken Shawarma wrap was very fresh tasting and very great size for left overs. Next time though I will ask for extra pickles as this and the garlic sauce on a shawarma wrap are my 2 favorite things! They had onions, cucumbers and tomatoes which I never had like that before. The chicken was marinated so well. Falafel we're on smaller side but very tasty! Not to mention all the delicious sauces they have! Must try White Sauce Garlic Sauce And the Pink Sauce. If you like spicy The Red or Green Sauce are awesome too. Wrote a sweet note on box very nice touch!

    chicken and rice

ordered a quick bite of chicken and rice on uber eats. still warm, delicious, fresh, a bit spicy with their perfect hot sauce and amazing overall for a fast, healthy meal

AVOID THIS LOCATION!…read more My family that resides in Clt started coming to this location because of the proximity to their house, but after this past visit on June 20th, none of us will ever be back again after the absolute awful service! And, as anyone knows, you can have amazing food, but if the people and service are terrible that can ruin any dining experience! We were sat in an almost empty restaurant just after 8pm; the waiter came to take our order and was very engaging initially. We were a party of 6, so we were going to order 4 diff apps prior to the mixed grill which is what we always get. We ordered the hummus, falafel (2 orders because only 6 come per order), baba ganoush, and beef sambousa. We were told they were "out" of the baba ganoush & sambousas cuz they would have to make them and it would take like an hr...this sounded odd cuz umm, don't you make all your food to order?? This immediately put both my stepmom (who is Moroccan) and myself off and we were actually going to leave, but we were introducing my brother's GF to this ethnic food style & him + my dad convinced us to stay, so we just added salad and lentil bean soups). We ordered drinks (the GF & I were the only ones that didn't order sodas; she ordered a pot of Karak tea for her + I to share & I ordered a sparkling water). After 10mins no drinks in sight we were like "ummm?" then at just over 15mins they brought us the apps but no drinks?!? The drinks came separately a few mins later...all except the tea. For $3 on the menu I expected a bottled sparkling water, instead I got flat water from the soda fountain. I told the waiter this and he said he'd try again and if it wasn't "sparkling" then what did I want to drink instead...I said just a filtered water w/lemon. We were missing an order of falafel (were told they only had the one order and would have to wait for the 2nd, so we just canceled it; again whyTF did they not have anything on the menu at 8pm on a Sat!?) and they only brought one basket of pita for the hummus; we asked for a 2nd basket. The lentil soup (my stepmom makes better at home) + salads were mid at best. 20mins later they bring the main course, but we still had not gotten the pot of tea we ordered nor did the guy ever come back w/my "sparkling" or plain water...we'd had enough of this horrible service & I went in search of someone (the place again was empty & I could not find our waiter or anyone anywhere). Finally I see this lady who had attitude (I have a sneaking suspicion she pretended not to understand english when convenient) when I asked WTAF was up w/my water & the tea! Again, another 10mins w/neither showing up at the table...we were also still waiting for the 2nd basket of pita, but it was moot as we'd already begun to eat the main dish...my stepmom went to the lady & spoke to her in arabic and was like "where is her water and where is her tea!?" the lady said she was sorry she didn't know we didn't get them (BS btw) that's when my stepmom asked to speak to the mgr. We also wanted to order Knfa for dessert, so my stepmom told the lady we were ordering 3 now since they were taking forever to get anything to us, and if they didn't bring them when we were done eating, we would not be paying for them. THAT part seemed to get through at least! Halfway (almost an hr at this point) through the meal they finally come w/my water and the pot of Karak tea. At this point we hadn't seen the male waiter who took our order initially; he shows up & is acting huffy (the audacity tbh!) & tries telling me he never said he'd bring a 2nd sparkling or reg water & when both me and my stepmom (cuz she was sitting next to me & heard the exchange called him out) he got all defensive & said "well I guess I misunderstood" so then we are like "why an hr for the tea?" "Wellll, that's how long it takes to make!" I called BS & told him if that was the case he should have told us that expectation when we initially ordered! He then goes "Well I had to go to storage to find it cuz we were out!" K, howTF is that OUR problem!? Just tell us that so we know what to expect!? No apology was made and we were not credited for the tea nor the $3 sparkling water which I never received. Also, received the Knfa (shockingly, right after the meal) but it was served w/o the pistachios it was supposed to come with. When asked for them, we were told they were "out"...because of course they were! Absolutely HORRIBLE staff and service here; the food was good tho, but when u have an experience like that it still leaves a bad taste!

It's also worth noting they do not take reservations for parties under six, which can make planning ahead difficult during busy times.
