We're working our way through the north shore shrimp trucks and this was our third (after Jenny's and Big Wave) and the best so far. We got our standard: one order of garlic shrimp and one of coconut shrimp. Coconut shrimp: I was a bit worried about the coconut shrimp, because it looked over cooked, but despite the darker color, the shrimp itself was still great. It's shredded coconut, which I don't like quite as much as the big shavings, but it has good coconut flavor, and not all places do. It also comes with a unique sweet lemon dipping sauce that was a nice pairing. The option of fries or rice was also a nice change, as we almost always throw out some of the rice, and the kids devoured the crispy fries (note: much better than the classic frozen crinkle fries shown on the truck pictures). 8 good sized shrimp, and a small salad with ranch. Garlic shrimp: 10 shrimp, smothered in garlic, one scoop of rice and a side salad. The shrimp is peeled (some tails left) and deveined. This tends not to be the standard around here and while I don't mind shrimp shells, if that bugs you, this may be your shrimp truck. A lot of the 1 star reviews for this place appear to relate to the man serving, but on our visit, it was a woman, she was very friendly, there was no line, and the food was hot and fast. My sister took a half day off from work today, Thursday, because she wanted to visit Haleiwa Art Gallery that will be permanently closing tomorrow. So we new we would make a day out of this, especially for middle of the work week and no crowds due to the 14-day quarantine requirement for out-of-State visitors. A couple weeks ago, I went to the other shrimp truck but my shrimp was cold and they don't clean the tables when people are done eating, so not COVID compliant, if that's applicable to food trucks. So this time, I figured we'd try Zane's. And we are glad we did. So many other options that we try and share. I ordered half fish and fried shrimp . I like a nice balance of seafood and batter. The batter is good here. My sister ordered the garlic shrimp which she also enjoyed. And her plate came with slaw. And we got fish and chips for my parents and ordered them rice. We were full but not stuffed intentionally as we knew we were going to have shave ice later. Great customer service. So friendly. I had prepared a little cooler of drinks in case we decide to sit on the beach. I asked if we had to order drinks from Zane's but she said we were welcome to make ourselves at home and provide our own drinks. Tables have umbrellas so incase it rains, you won't get wet like we did the last time and so we wouldn't have to worry about the tamarind falling from the tree and hitting us on the head like the last time. Tables are also clean which I appreciate. The other shrimp truck, tables are filthy and none of the workers are cleaning it up. Price of plates are comparable to other shrimp trucks. Currently, plenty of parking, so take advantage of this time while we have the island to ourselves as locals and while we support our local businesses. 5-stars for customer service, cleanliness, food and prices read more

I never write a review but this place is ran by Mother and Son.. This is my first time in North Shore and have been to 5 food trucks that serve spicy garlic shrimp. People at first recommended that I "have to go" to Giovanni's... however when I had theirs it was cold, small portion and the the shell was still on so the flavor doesn't really get into the shrimp meat. I had Zane's first because the parking attendant said he picks Zane's all day before Giovanni's. So I took his word and he was right. By far the best spicy garlic shrimp I've had. Deveined and no shells on the shrimp. Twice my plate came out smoking hot and the portions were acceptable! The crispy fried fish is also fire flame spitter! Cooking up fresh hot batches and not something that's been sitting. If anyone is out here and want to try a flavorful and fresh experience of food then I highly recommend Zane's Simply Shrimp! read more

The fish tacos that I ordered for the worst I have ever had in my life Period Point blank. The person who cooked these, took a fish stick, deep fried it and stuck it inside of a deep fried corn ttortilla shell, put a few tomatoes, lettuce cheese and a dollop of sour cream and had the nerve to serve it. This establishment then proceeded to have the nerve to charge someone $16 for two fish tacos that were both made with the deep fried fish sticks and approximately 12 fries. This place is gross and the service was absolutely deplorable! Save your money park at the North Shore marketplace and check out the Mexican restaurant that's right next to the gelato place they look like they had real fish tacos and good customer service. read more

I tried the "famous" shrimp scampi from Giovannis and then got the pineapple coconut shrimp from Zanes so we could compare. Zanes blew Giovannis out of the water! The shrimp here were bigger and tasted way fresher. Now this isn't a typical coconut crusted shrimp this was a fried shrimp in what tasted more like coconut oil. So the coconut taste was there just no shreds or anything but I didn't mind! Then there was fresh pineapple on top. One bite of shrimp along with a bite of pineapple and you're in flavor heaven! So freakin good and you get way more bang for hour bucks here as well. The plate of food was way bigger than the plate we got from Giovannis and cost the same! read more
