Fish and chips and a blonde beer
Serena R.

We were on our cruise, spent the day in Sitka and decided to have some fish and chips here. Are three piece fish and chips. Alaskan cod was the best I've ever had came with the side of coleslaw. The pieces were large. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I want to say the plate was about $25 but well worth it.

Nice tourist place for crab, chowder, fish and chips, and beer! Service is a little slow hence the three stars! Someone else's order was never put in and they came before us! Major strike out! Outdoor or indoor seating. Ambiance is beautiful right near the shipping docks. King crab plates are one to two pounds, $74+ with corn fritters and coleslaw. Clam is too salty for my taste.

Clam chowder and Alaskan Cod fish & chips

We were docked with the cruise ship and weren't able to grab food while exploring Sitka due to the time crunch, but man were we glad to have been able to eat here! Service was great, our waiter was so sweet and I know they were busy and our food still came out faster than expected! Loved the outdoor seating vibe and not to mention ton out food was delicious! Some of the best chowder I had on the trip. Thank you , we look forward to returning.

Crab roll

This is a crab-themed seafood restaurant situated right as you walk off the cruise ship. It seemed very new and clean. The server was attentive. I tried the Alaskan Brewing Company pilsner and it was awesomely crisp and refreshing. The clam chowder was good but really soared with the addition of Cholula hot sauce. Hubby got the crab roll which he said was good but not $30 good. We shared a basket of fries which were seasoned nicely. I would return for the beer and chowder alone, everything else was wildly expensive.

Right off the Cruise Pier - look to the right.

King Crab and dungeoness crab at reasonable price. Everything we tried (party of 7 from age 5 to 73) was great

Very convenient to the cruise ship dock

Due to weather we had cancelled our cruise ship shore excursion yet we wanted to at least get off the ship. HPCC is conveniently located right next to the ship's pier. We were quickly seated in a large spacious high ceilinged dining room with exposed wood beams and were warmly welcomed by our server, ADRIAN. He was very friendly (he even acknowledged my University of Miami cap!) and was very helpful describing the menu and offering crab meat extraction advice. He let me sample 2 beers before choosing a delicious locally brewed IPA. We had clam chowder in a bread bowl and 2 lbs of king crab at a market price of apx. $67.50/lb. The chowder was excellent and had just the right amount of spiceness and the crab was rich and fresh with plenty of drawn butter for dipping. With the crab came sourdough corn fritters with honey butter which were also excellent. An awesome 70's and 80's classic rock soundtrack at just the right volume was very enjoyable. The tab for food and drink before tip was $189 for two. Considering the delicious food, ambiance, quality of service and convenient ship pier location, I'd consider HPC&C a great value. I'd highly recommend dropping in if your cruise ship stops at the Port of Sitka!

Clam chowder - it's a secret recipe!
David N.

Went in for the chowder and it ended up being the best clam chowder we've ever eaten! This is a "secret family recipe" and boy, it's great! Our server was very warm and friendly, and the views were spectacular! If you have the chance to visit when in port in Sitka, don't miss out!

Halibut Point Crab & Chowder was a great pit stop before getting back in the cruise ship. Service was super friendly and the food was pretty good. What's not to love about fresh king crab!!! Their sourdough corn fritters were delicious. The king crab here was fresh and good too. We had a nice table overlooking the pier which made it even nicer! They even had a neat souvenir shop with their logo on everything. Fun items to buy and take home.

3lbs of king crab legs
Sophia D.

Wow probably some of the best king crab legs I've ever had! Looked way more than 3lbs too. The crab wasn't salty which was nice and paired well with the butter. Every piece was just so delicious and pretty big too! My family was happy and satisfied with the king crab legs. Yeah it was pricy but it was well worth it. The corn fritters that came with it was pretty good but you need to eat it with the honey butter that it comes with. The staff was kind and welcoming. Whatever questions we had about the crab she was able to answer and she brought us out anything we needed and more. This place was right next to the cruise port which made it convenient if you don't go into the town. They also had live dungeness crab for people to see and they let us take pictures of us holding them too.

This a great stop for an excellent Crabby Mary and Crab Cocktail. Both were fantastic with plenty of crab.

Stopped in Sitka during our Alaska cruise. Glad we came in before the lunch rush bc there was a…read moreline when we finished around 12:30pm. Server was super friendly, although it did take quite a while to get his attention sometimes. All the food was much better than I was expecting. I strayed from my usual picks and went with the mushroom sandwich. It was SO GOOD. I usually don't go for vegetarian options, but I'm glad I did. The Mac and cheese was delicious as well--would definitely recommend! The salmon chowder, salmon plate and salmon dip were all solid choices too. The kale salad wasn't my favorite. The candied pecans were a nice part of it though and I still finished it. The hummus plate was more of an open sandwich and my parents really liked that.

The food here did not live up to the hype, but was solid…read more The outside line was cold. Then, because we were a larger part, we had to sit outside. We asked for an inside table, but the server sat another large party instead, leaving us outside with small children. They eventually offered us hot water near the end of our meal, which we readily accepted. I had the salmon chowder. The flavor was good. I think it had dumplings in it. They were so undercooked that I initially thought they were clumps of unmixed roux. After I had around 5, I realized they were supposed yo be dumplings. I felt the texture was off-putting, but I was so cold outside, I ate the hot soup. I ordered the portobello sandwich. It was good, however the Portobello was not warmed all the way through. It was cooked enough to eat and was well-seasoned so I just ate it. I was also too cold to wait for the kitchen to fix it. The chips served with it were good. While the flavors were solid, I would not return here.

My husband chose this place, and it turned out to be a cute, quirky little spot. We really wanted…read moreto try the fish in Sitka, so we thought this would be the perfect place. The views were absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant is located up a flight of stairs. We were seated quickly and didn't have to wait too long for service. They had quite a selection of beers and brews, and I loved the vintage style bar. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, and unfortunately, we felt the portion size was too much. I think the price could be lowered in exchange for a smaller serving because we felt bad wasting so much food. My fish arrived warm and was served with hand-cut fries. The batter was a little different from anything we've tried before. It was good, but I think there may have been a bit too much pepper added. It wasn't bad, just a different flavor profile, so keep that in mind. Overall, if you're looking for a place with beautiful views, we would recommend it. I ultimately decided on a 4 star rating rather than a 3 star rating because the scenery really added to our day in Sitka.
