This was the single worst car-buying experience I've ever had. We ultimately had to leave, go to Fort Collins subaru -and got a much better deal and phenomenal service. Two things were especially problematic. First, they gave us an estimated trade-in amount for our car (11k) but when we arrived wanted to give us 5k! They ultimately came back with an offer of 8k and said they were "taking a risk". Unbeknownst to them, we came in with 3 higher appraisals - and the car was in phenomenal condition. (Fort Collins subaru - i.e., Dellenbach - later offered us 10.4k and when we came in, we got 10.4k. No haggling, no pretending that the car wasn't in excellent shape, etc. In short - the offer we got was what every appraisal suggested it should be an what Dellenbach said it would be.) Second, they did that whole creepy thing where the sales person kept going back to another office to "try to get us a good deal" (they were probably talking about basketball) and kept lowballing us. The "back office" guy eventually came and hovered around our negotiations without saying anything. Super creepy. I'll keep my money in Wyoming whenever I possibly can. But had we stuck with Halladay (Cheyenne) instead of walking and going to Dellenback (Fort Collins) - it would have cost us, conservatively, $2500. That's too high a price to pay for state loyalty. Will definitely go to Dellenbach in Fort Collins for future purchases. Halladay is old-school creepy car-buying experience. You can perceive that you got a good deal from them (because they'll tell you so) - if, and only if, you haven't done your homework at the front-end. read more

I went to Halladay Subaru and was rushed through the buying process and also was not informed of the Tax and registration payment of 2300.00 to the courthouse to recieve my plates. In my state of Texas the tax and registration is included in the price of the vehicle in Cheyenne its not and I was not verbally informed and when I went to the dealership I was told I can get a free oil change or the dealership would pay the late fees which there wasn't any because I had no choice but to pay on time. I have informed coworkers not to go to Halladay Subaru and buy a car in Colorado like I should have done. *MUST READ!* I recently move to Cheyenne a few months ago. I originally had a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder that was an all right vehicle but wasn't as reliable as I needed it. I went and originally met with Chris at Holiday Subaru who in fact is a great guy and an honest salesman. I appreciated our whole entire experience. A month into owning my new 2013 Chevy Equinox I had an engine light on. My vehicle was shaking immensely every time I would come to a stop as if the vehicle wanted to stall out but never did. This instantly was a red flag for me and I was very frustrated in the moment because I had just gotten this vehicle. I took it back to holiday. After talking with a few people. They were able to do a diagnostic on it saying that the engine block had gone out. I didn't have to pay for the diagnostic thank goodness, but they quoted me about $7,000 to fix the issue. I have nowhere near that amount of money to fix something on a vehicle I've only owned for a month. I kept reaching out to Holiday motors and after putting in someone of a negative review they had contacted me. They said that I didn't have to pay for the diagnostic and if I wasn't able to pay the money to fix the engine block and or keep putting oil in the vehicle that there was another option for me to look into. Long story short they were able to not only get me into the same vehicle with less mileage. And made sure to do an engine compression test showing that there was nothing wrong with the engine block in the new vehicle. They also were able to lower my payments and lower my insurance in the end. Thank you to Kassandra, Chris, Carter and everyone else who helped me through this journey and get me back into a vehicle they know I love and was safer and reliable and cheaper! Nice dealership. Drove in to look at a used Jeep grand Cherokee and the staff tried to sell me a brand new Subaru Forester but it was so cheaply made and everything was just hard plastic everywhere even the leather wasn't very soft at all. Touchscreen was hard to use, everything was cheaply done and a gutless engine. It even cost more than the new jeep Cherokee Trailhawk or limited I was looking at. Nice dealership but don't know how anybody can buy a Subaru when there are so many other options out there at the same price but way nicer and safer read more

Long time Subaru enthusiast, owned a 2011 WRX for years before I purchased a 2018 Subaru STI from the Subaru in Casper. About 3-4 months ago I cracked my bumper and had it replaced with a brand new bumper/paint. Move to Cheyenne a week ago, first time bringing my car in for a simple oil change. I'm asked if I'd like a complimentary car wash, which I regrettably accepted. I receive my car and notice there's a large chip in the paint of my bumper. Keep in mind the vehicle has 15K miles and the bumper probably less than 3K. I call the dealership and am transferred to the "manager" Mike. He doesn't answer, so I leave a voicemail politely explaining the situation and requesting a call back. I wait two hours and still, no response. At this point, I drive back to the dealership to wait an additional 15 minutes so they can track him down because no one seems to know where he is. Immediately he begins to defend the fact that it's not possible his car washers, using bristle brushes, could've knicked or caused any damage. THEN, he pulls out a report that allegedly was filled out when my car was worked on, which was not at all the report that was given to me when I first left. Their inspection for my car came back perfect, absolutely nothing wrong. Then, when I'm asking about the chip in the paint, he finds a "paper that was on his desk" describing previous marks on a brand new bumper and further attempts to tell me I need to go BACK to the Subaru in CASPER to "look into clear coat warranty" I'm absolutely appalled that a manager would choose to lose a customer who has spent thousands of dollars across several dealerships, driving a brand new Subaru STI with warranty (basically their 'prime' customer type) over a paint chip. I couldn't say nicer things about the girls at the reception desk! Unfortunately they aren't the ones who can make things right though. Hopefully this review deters even one Subaru enthusiast from losing their love for the brand due to a poor manager. As you can see from the photos, that's not at all "road debris" especially 30 minutes after receiving from them. Absolutely falls on the management that fails to take accountability. Instead I will take these photos to Small Claims Court, or wherever necessary to make this right. To try to blame this on another Subaru dealership is pathetic. read more

I bought my car in October 2020. No issues there - our salesperson was amazing and I went home with the car I wanted that same day. However, service has been a nightmare. I went in for my first oil change & a couple minor issues and I ended up having to take a video to prove that what I was saying was happening was actually happening. Still not sure what that issue was as it comes and goes, and nobody can really determine why. That's not why I'm leaving a 1 star review though. I have had to reschedule several times since October. I have called several times, needing some information because I had to have my Starlink updated before Jan 31st. The most recent voicemails were left Monday and Tuesday, for a total of I believe 6 messages in the last 2 months (and more in the months prior). I have yet to get a call back from any of those. I texted via their website and was assured I'd get a call the next day. Still haven't received a call from that message either. I finally decided to schedule with another Subaru dealership about 30 minutes away. I called yesterday and they got me in today. I had to take a day off work and spend ~5 hours at the dealership because I couldn't do it locally. If I hadn't gotten into the other dealership, I would have either lost my Starlink subscription or I would've had to pay for the replacement because it would have been beyond the warrantee date. Drove in from Spokane, WA for CFD and to visit family (Cheyenne is my hometown, no big deal). Had to get an oil change and tire rotation on my wife's '15 Subaru Forester. The service manager was very young looking girl, who was awesome. I asked her if the technician could hand loosen and tighten the lug nuts when they rotate the tires. She said that was no problem and wrote it on the repair order. Their lounge was small but nice. They had free water and free wifi. After about 30-40 minutes she comes back to tell me they're done, and that they washed my Forester as well. Price was fair since I had to air filters replaced. Even though it's small, it's a great dealership and the folks that work in service are awesome! read more

I bought a car they told me had not been in an accident. Turns, out, it had been in an accident. They claimed it was a mistake. Fair enough. The car immediately had problems. And kept having problems. Small issues at first they were able to remedy, but then a larger issue that was symptomatic of bigger things to come (steering wheel suddenly losing alignment with wheels for no reason). The sales manager KNEW they had made the mistake in accidentally misrepresenting the vehicle to me (they admitted this to me), and he KNEW the car was having ongoing issues. Rather than do the obvious right thing and take the car back so I could purchase another from them, he straight up told me "we don't want the car", and "offered" me a "deal" that would have cost me a LOSS of $6,000 dollars (low ball offer for my misrepresented-by-them car, plus loss of taxes paid, dealer fees paid, and loss of value from my traded in vehicle). I had to contact Subaru of America and file a complaint, and then go over the sales manager's head and contact the VP of Halladay motors directly to let him know about the situation, let him know I'd filed the complaint, and that I would seek legal action if a satisfactory resolution was not reached. ONLY THEN did they do the right thing by taking back the vehicle. To the VP's credit he did not hesitate in setting things right. They refunded the original purchase, they gave me a fair deal on a known good car of similar make, model and miles, and they also gave Certified Pre-owned Status to the replacement car for the peace of mind I was originally looking for, and I thank the VP for this gesture, I really do. HOWEVER, because of the intentional efforts of their sales manager to profit at my expense by leveraging Halladay Motor's gross mistake in misrepresenting the car, I cannot with good conscience recommend this dealership to those unable to fight tooth and nail to not be taken advantage of by their sales manager's predatory practices. I know too many people who are either timid, passive, insecure in themselves, or who lack the financial means to pursue legal action (I include the version of me 10 years ago in this category as well) that would have simply lost out on their hard earned money were they faced with this same situation, and I care about them as much as I do myself. Sad the sales manager chose to try and profit at my expense rather than do the obvious right thing, but he did, and I would not feel good about keeping this to myself, since I care about those coming after me that might not be able to push as hard as I needed to to see an equitable resolution reached over a large mistake that was theirs, not mine. 2 stars because in the end they did the right thing, but only 2 stars because their sales managers attempts to profit at my expense for their mistake. read more

On Saturday, 05/18, I was heading from Cheyenne to U. of WY in Laramie to watch my niece "be hooded" with her doctorate in counseling education. I'd come up from NM on Friday, and as I dashed out in the morning to race over the hill to Laramie, I saw my right rear tire was completely flat. Flat. Sitting on the rim flat. I called State Farm. They sent a tow truck that got there in about 1/2 hour through the biting cold wind. The operator pumped up the tire, I drove to Halladay Subaru that I'd spotted just a mile away, told them I was trying to make the graduation in Laramie, and they told me, "Don't worry, we'll get you there in time." They'd put me in the front of the line, popped the car up on the lift right away, and plugged the hole. I raced over the mountain and got to the university with an hour to spare. Worst experience of my life. I'm a 2 time Subaru Forester owner, one of which is a 2017 Forster and I was having an issue with traction on ice and found my car slipping when weather is mildly bad. The blond lady at the front desk told me they might not be able to fix it because they won't be able recreate the conditions even before a technician saw the car. She also said that she tested my broken USB port herself with a phone and saw nothing wrong. I told her it stopped charging my phone even though it shows the charging symbol. She then said it was my phone or that it doesn't charge when in use. F'ing moron. I've found that my engine has been loosing oil sine I've owned it and they wouldn't check because blonde didn't think it was worth the effort. Who the hell is running this place?! I've heard horrible stories about this place but now I see it's true. Going to Dellenbach in Fort Collins. Be 100% certain I'm taking the corporate survey to make sure that they know Halliday is ruining the otherwise excellent reputation of the Subaru brand. He has a tight budget so he politely asked if they could reimburse him on the mileage. They told him no. I understand but come on man! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I've been a Subie owner for 5 years and have dealt with 4+ service depts. This one BY FAR is the best I've encountered. In the midst of driving across country from Oregon to Florida with 2 dogs & 2 cats in the car, we found ourselves with two headlights out in the middle of a snow storm in Wyoming. Miracle of miracles, we get off I-80 and there in the distance is the Subaru sign (ahhhhh!!!) I swung in thinking they would push me off to the next day but they immediately pulled in our Subie, with the pets secure inside, and we had new headlights in under 40 minutes which is amazing bc our model of Subaru requires the tires to come off to change the headlights (nuts). I really can't express how grateful we are to Halladay Subaru for taking care of us so swiftly and treating us like VIP customers. So rare in this day to find cheerful service oriented people. If I lived in WYO we would def buy our next Subie from Halladay. You guys are heroes!!! read more

Despite okay customer service, I will not be returning to Halladay Subaru. I purchased my impreza in Denver, but since I live in Wyoming, took it to the Halladay Subaru to be serviced. I went in due to a whistling sound in my engine while driving in cold weather. The mechanic at that time looked my car over quickly and without bothering to drive it around the block to listen to the noise, told me that there was nothing wrong. After making the service manager, Bill, come with me on a quick drive to hear it, we returned with the engine whistling to which the mechanic simply shrugged his shoulders and said "That wasn't there before!". Whatever, not a big deal. They told me that they would order the belt needed as well as one other part and give me a call when they were in stock. As I had just purchased the car, I verified with Bill several times that my warranty would cover these repairs. He told me yes. After almost a week went by, Bill called me to let me know that no, these repairs would not be covered because the warranty was not yet updated in the Subaru system. I was irritated that it took so long to call me and inform me of this, considering the parts should have been in one to two days after my first trip. I asked Bill if there was anything he could do to expedite the update in the Subaru system, as I had all of the physical paperwork showing my extended warranty and what it should cover. He told me yes, and that he would call me back. He did not call me back for over 2 months, which in the meantime the Denver Subaru dealership sent a driver up to pick up my car, gave me a loaner, fixed it in Denver and then brought it back to me. When Bill called two months later, he had NO CLUE whether or not my car had been fixed, or if I had brought it back in to be fixed. He called me to tell me my parts were in and I told him I no longer needed them. After this hassle, I was willing to give them another try when it was time for an oil change. The clips on my passenger side running board were going bad as well, and so when I was in for the oil change I asked if they could repair it. They said yes, but that they would need to order the clips. Bill told me they would be in within 2-3 days. I waited 3 weeks, hearing nothing from them, before calling them and telling them not to bother. Again, Bill was oblivious- he had no idea if I had been called or if the parts were ordered. I will not be returning to this Subaru dealership because they honestly and truly just seem incompetent. I don't know what is going on with the communication in that building, but it is AWFUL. All of this would not have been a big deal if they corrected their wrongs right away, and showed me good customer service; unfortunately, they did neither. I'm sure they can change your oil, but I wouldn't count on much else. read more
