Gosh, I really like this place! Walking into this store made me feel like I could potentially…read more"bake". The boxes and boxes of cakes, cookies and other yummy treats looked easy to create. BUT I needed the tools(pans, baking tools, and the skills). That wasn't happening today. The staff was SUPER informative and encouraging. He signed me up for the rewards program and gave me some coupons to order online and get free shipping. He explained that this location is actually a pop up that has been there since 2024. He said they would be closing soon. He did mention that Old Town Alexandria was getting a permanent store. Maybe by that time, I will have developed some cooking skills.

My mother in law introduced me to King Arthur flour mixes several years ago and let me tell you we…read morehave never been led astray. This employee-owned business has perfected the art of all things baking and has made it accessible for the masses. You can purchase their items at Whole Foods and even BJ's ... but this store is truly a showcase of their greatest hits. I nearly blacked out as I placed box after box of baking mix into my cart. Their mixes run the gamut from scones, pancakes, popovers, babka, muffins, pretzels, pizza dough, and more. I got 20% off since it was Black Friday and they even gave me a little bundt cake ornament as a special gift. They had their gingerbread cake out to sample, and it was surprisingly delicious (as someone who does not traditionally like gingerbread). This is a pop-up that is scheduled to close soon but I hope that they find another home in the area soon. Everyone I interacted with was super nice and friendly too!

1/5 I have spent a…read moresignificant amount of money at this store, including purchasing essentially my entire BTS discography here, so today's experience was incredibly disappointing, and it has permanently cost them my business. Today I purchased two Stray Kids albums. After leaving the store, I opened one and immediately realized the disc was a mini-sized format that I cannot use in my car's CD player. I had not removed the disc, gone through the contents, or used anything inside the package. I immediately went back into the store. The employee accepted the unopened album for return. I then asked about exchanging the second, opened album for a different Stray Kids album with a standard-size CD. After contacting her manager, I was told they would not accept it because "there was nothing wrong with it." The problem is that NOTHING on the product or store display indicated that this was a mini-sized disc rather than a standard CD. When I pointed this out, I was told they basically "expect customers to know" what is inside these albums and that Stray Kids is "known for that." That is an astonishing response from a specialty retailer. Customers should not be required to research the physical dimensions or playback format of every album before purchasing it because the store chooses not to clearly identify what it is selling. I was even told that albums with individual-member covers are usually this format, which is not universally true across K-pop releases. What makes this especially ridiculous is that I DID NOT EVEN WANT A REFUND. I wanted to exchange it. I was literally standing there holding two other full-size albums that cost MORE than the album I wanted to return. I would have spent additional money that day. Instead, I put them back. This store lost a longtime customer over an unopened album they refused to exchange. My daughter and I are now getting into ATEEZ and Stray Kids, both groups with extensive discographies, after I previously purchased my BTS collection here. That represents potentially hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in future purchases. All because management apparently decided retaining a paying customer was less important than refusing one reasonable exchange. The employee herself was polite, so my frustration is not directed at her personally. This is about the store's policy, lack of clear product labeling, and management's extremely shortsighted decision. If you sell multiple physical formats that are not immediately distinguishable from their packaging, LABEL THEM. And telling customers they should simply "know" what is inside is not customer service. I'll buy my albums elsewhere.
