Clean rooms, great staff, and amazing views. The only let down was the inconsistent wifi making it hard to work. Overall an amazing hotel!

My boyfriend stumbled upon this place & I couldn't be happier he did! Since we arrived the women who greeted us , Sara I believe was her name was extremely nice and helpful with our check in. She was informative and mentioned Georgie's the restaurant on site and downstairs of our room. It's definitely a place I'd recommend. Staff & food were great! We had dinner & desert there and ended our night in the hot tub back in our room. With the fire pit on & enjoying the beautiful ocean view. Definitely enjoyed the convenience of walking to my room after dinner. THATS NOT ALL. In the morning we were so relaxed and enjoying that ocean view and decided to order room service ! We loved Georgies so decided to try their breakfast and of course we weren't disappointed! I also have to mention how there is easy beach access here which we loved and because of it we were able to walk down to the beach to get a closer view. The room was very clean and guest services were very attentive contacting us to make sure all of our needs were met. We actually requested adding another night to stay in and they were VERY accommodating and made it happen for us we were so thrilled to hear the news when they gave us the call! I stayed in the king suite on the 5th floor and could not have been happier. The views from the in-room balcony are priceless . The hot tub in the room a great bonus. This room had two televisions, separate sitting room, kitchenette, spacious balcony, fire place, heated bathroom, and jetted tub. The adjoining restaurant (Georgie's) delivers to your room. We had burgers and ahi tuna...of which, all was delicious. No complaints what so ever!!! read more

This is a really great place to stay if you're on the Central coast. The room was cozy, if a little rustic, and would probably warrant 3 AAA diamonds. Getting to our room required stairs - I saw elevators, but none nearby - so beware if you need to schlep lots of bags. The rooms all look out on the ocean, which is beautiful. Of course, the first floor patios are kind of contiguous, so the neighbors were literally in front of our window partying in the middle of the night, which meant closing the shades on the beautiful view. I'd probably spring for an upper floor because of that. They give out little buckets full of toys and such for the bebes, and we really enjoyed the indoor pool. The onsite restaurant, Georgie's, is as good as it gets for hotel dining. Overall highly recommended, and I'd definitely come back. read more

So my boyfriend decided to suprise me for our anniversary and he booked a one night stay and requested an early check in... we call the hotel the night before to confirm that we are on the list for an early check in and the girl at the front desk confirms that's true and said we will receive a call when the room is ready. Next day rolls around and we arrive at the hotel at 11:55a, we let the front desk clerk know that we are here to check in and she notifies us that the room is not ready and that the previous guests are still in the room. That was not a surprise because I checked the Hallmark website the night before and saw that checkout was at noon, however, we just wanted to get there right at noon just to enjoy the amenities the hotel offers and explore the town of Newport. We JUST wanted to check in and make sure we would get a call as soon as the room was ready considering the very high price we paid for a single night. The front desk was very rude and condescending from the moment we walked up to the desk and we were upset by that but decided to not let that ruin our stay here, so we confirmed they had the right phone number to call when the room was ready and we left. We managed to keep ourselves busy for the next FOUR hours while we waiting for a phone call to let us know we could go to our room... never got a call or a voicemail so instead my boyfriend called the hotel just for them to tell him that the room had been ready for hours. You can imagine just how angry we were to find this out. We finally got to our suite, it was clean and had a beautiful view so no complains about the room but my boyfriend later realized that when we checked in, we never received the voucher for the restaurant Georgie's that he was promised when making the reservation. He once again went down to the front desk to just ask for the voucher and the woman at the front desk, a different woman from earlier, said that she would make an exception but that typically you don't get the voucher unless you bring it up when reserving your room WHICH HE HAD and he mentioned it when we checked in. She went on to say "I don't know where you got your information but that's not correct"... so rude. Every single time we had a question or wanted to check out a movie from the gift shop, the front desk was so incredibly rude. At first we felt bad, we thought maybe we were being too needy or being an issue but then later while we were just enjoying the view from the sitting area in the lobby we heard them being extremely rude to other people who were staying at the hotel... Unfortunately, we were hoping to have a magical stay at this beautiful resort and instead we were treated very rudely, left feeling like we weren't able to enjoy the room that we paid a lot of money for and don't plan on staying here again with this customer service. Sorry this was so long, it was just really upsetting to spend our hard earned money on this luxury hotel just to not be able to enjoy our stay because of the service we received. This experience ruined our anniversary weekend memories and we wasted so much money on the room that we weren't able to afford to get each other gifts so this was just a big disappointment. I also forget to mention that the price they said the room was going to be was a lot less then what they ended up charging him which we were not happy about but agreed to pay it anyway THEN when the charge finally came through he noticed that they charged even more than both of the prices they originally gave us and actually empties his bank account!! We brought this up to the front desk staff who again were rude but said the money would be refunded in 5 - 7 business days and so for the remainder of our stay we were not able to do much because his bank account was empty! Luckily we had some money in our savings account or else we would have been stranded in Newport. Horrible, horrible weekend. read more

My husband and I stayed here recently for two days and we were sorry to leave. We got the sept. special and our room had a patio over-looking the beach. Ahhhh....wonderful:) The staff was friendly and helpful. I can think of nothing that needed attention or improvement. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. The place seems really nice online. However when we got to our room the musty mold smell was over whelming. I've had a sinuous headache every since we checked into the room. I can not wait to get out of here! Check in staff were great. The cleaning staff did not respect the do not disturb on the door so we were rudely disturbed each morning. Room service breakfast is average. The restaurant attached to the hotel is horrible. This was our first stay in Newport and the value we paid is just not good enough. We had a queen room with fireplace on the fourth floor, and loved our stay here! The view was incredible, and the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough to not feel cramped. The lobby area and views from lobby lounge areas with fireplaces was great. We didn't end up using the pool/hot tub, but peeked in and they were also very nice looking. Great beach access. The restaurant there is also delicious. The only con wasn't enough to take a star off... We were there during a wind/rain storm, and that caused the fireplace to make noises that kept me awake during the night. We'd definitely enjoy staying again, and if we have a fireplace room, I'll just remember ear plugs for in case it's windy at night. ;) read more

Loved our stay at the Hallmark Resort! Everything was spectacular from the staff members to those breathtaking views! We took our pooch on a dog-cation for national dog day and this was definitely the place to be! Such a dog friendly resort and town! They even have dog baskets that include a water bottle/bowl, frisbee and other goodies! Our room was pretty amazing with a killer view, a jacuzzi tub, a fireplace and the most heavenly plush bed you could imagine! The staff were all so incredibly friendly, a couple of them even picked up our yorkie to give her some love, so sweet! The restaurant had amazing food, we enjoyed some top notch take out in the comfort of our room! Thoroughly impressed with our stay at this resort and we'll definitely be back! read more

If I were in housekeeping I wouldn't want to be bothered about contacting the guest who was dumb enough to leave his favorite shirt at the Hallmark Resort and go on with my day. Thankfully I don't work at housekeeping because, frankly, I would be terrible at it and have horrible thoughts about people. The staff at Hallmark are quite the opposite; they contacted us to confirm that I forgot one of my favorite shirts there. Not only did they know what I was talking about when calling back but they even sent the shirt back to us for free! God bless them! read more

The room was incredibly small. Bathroom vanity/closet area is extremely difficult to negotiate for two people. Probably the tiniest room I've ever stayed in. The bed was very comfortable which was nice. Unfortunately,there was also gunk on the desk that got on some of my things. Disappointing. read more

If you want to vacation with your dogs, the Hallmark is a great spot to stay. Not only are dogs (and cats) allowed, but they are welcomed with treats, toys, and water dishes! Whether you're on the ground floor with a patio or on an upper floor with a balcony, you will have a lovely view of the beach and ocean. One of my favorite things about staying at the Hallmark is the beach access. You just walk down some stairs and you're at the ocean. The beach is long and wide and in our experience, we've rarely crossed paths with other people. If you need some peace and quiet, this is your place. The rooms aren't necessarily modern, but they are very clean and comfortable with cable and wi-fi. Also, if you have dogs, they provide you with dog towels and sheets, so you don't have to contend with sandy paws. I recommend the room service from Georgie's - the clam chowder bread bowl is fantastic. Check-in is at 4, which seems a little late, but they do their best to accommodate early arrivals. If nothing else, they'll hold your bags while you comb the beach. read more

I got to stay here with my wife the first night if our honeymoon. The rest of our honeymoon was in Miami, but we had our first night here at the Hallmark. What an awesome hotel! They have everything you could ask for for an excellent experience. I only gave them 5 stars because I can't give them 10. read more

Ok, here's the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for the Hallmark at Newport. First the Good. They are ideally located on the Oregon coast so that the rooms have fabulous ocean front views, and close enough to the water that you can lull yourself to sleep with the sounds of surf. Nice. Our room was huge and had a great walk out patio with chairs to enjoy the stunning ocean views. The room seemed relatively clean for an older hotel. The staff were helpful and very friendly. They have some dog friendly rooms. They actually honored our "do not disturb" sign and didn't bug us for a turndown service or anything else. (this is important when you have dogs in the room and don't want them barking at a knock on the door). The beds were quite comfy and I slept better on them than my bed at home (I am now seeking a new mattress...). In fact I even took the sheet off to try and identify the mattress brand tag, but failed in my quest, as alas,--no tags were to be found. But I digress... The Bad: The room decor was dated vintage late 1980s or 1990s or whenever mauve and peach were the dominant color schemes. Picture a set from the Golden Girls, or your granny's house in Florida. In fact, it was pretty funny. We didn't care so much, except that for nearly $200 a night, I expect at least *some* updating to have occurred in the past two decades or so. Oh well, call me picky. I'm just sayin... (Note: my friends stayed in the honeymoon suite and they said their room WAS updated, and was fabulous. So, clearly, we just got one of the dated rooms.) And, the room does have the basic amenities--we got the suite with "kitchenette" which includes a microwave, mini fridge and dishwasher. The appliances were also very old--the fridge barely kept things cold and I could not find an adjustment knob on it, so the milk and beer were kinda lukewarm-ish. Oddly, there were cooking pans in the cabinet....but no stove, so...uh. The dishwasher is so loud as to drown out everything within about a half mile distance, so only run that puppy when you plan on leaving the room for a while. This next bit is just an FYI: you will have to walk down a lot of stairs to get to the actual beach--which is not necessarily bad, but if you are carrying a cooler and load of wood for a beach bonfire, could be quite a trek. Also, I am sharing this in case you have bad knees or are somewhat disabled--you will not be able to just roll out onto the beach here in Newport, the hotel is on a cliff. The Ugly. I hate to even mention this bit, as generally speaking, this is a nice hotel and I *might* consider staying there again, but I have to reveal it. I was laying on the bed watching TV and kept *sniff*sniff* smelling something wrong. It smelled like urine. I kept sniffing around, looking for spots on the carpet, etc. After all, it is a dog friendly room, and while my dogs are house broken, you never know the history of the carpet. I finally realized, to my horror, that the smell was coming from the BEDSPREAD. Gross! Seriously, I was actually laying down on a bed spread that smelled as if someone took a nice long whiz on it, only moments ago. Look--I know that hotels don't switch out the bedspreads every day, but you could smell this from a couple feet away. To their credit, they did replace it immediately with a clean one when we called, but still. Clean the laundry or at least check it! Nasty. So, this left me with an overall impression of about a three star review. I don't expect perfection, though admittedly my expectations are a bit high for nearly $200 a night. The hotel is generally nice, and I think they are trying. Update the rooms and keep things clean, and this hotel will go up a few ticks. read more

This is always our first choice when staying on the coast. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view is outstanding. Georgie's is a wonderful restaurant, with wonderful staff. I wish the curtain would open so only the small window would show with the curtain partially closed and a bigger table was provided, but neither takes away from the experience. Normally they would get a 5 star, (and I wish I could give a 4 1/2 star) but 2 things kinda made the experience a little off. 1st was the shower water pressure. Previous times it was acceptable, but this time it was too weak. Could be the room location but when you spend this much for a room it should be better. 2nd was the kitchen dishes. We had a kitchenette room, and it appeared we had no dishes and silverwear at all. We thought it may have been due to COVID, but we found out the morning we were leaving that they were all in the dishwasher. Would have been good to tell us that. These things are only minor and we are looking forward to our next visit! read more

I never even got to stay here. I had to cancel my weekend reservation for various reasons, with the intent of possibly making a reservation in the future- it ended up taking four days and several increasingly nasty emails to confirm that the reservation had been cancelled. After the first cancellation, my reservation was 'reconfirmed' (?) and my card charged a second time for the reservation amount. I wrote in asking them to cancel the second reservation, got a terse response saying that they had with no attached cancellation confirmation. And yet, the reservation amount was still deducted from my account. I wrote back, saying that I had not received a confirmation of the cancellation and that the amount had still been deducted. They responded by blaming my bank for the "delay," after which I received an automated 'confirmation of cancellation' from them. Highly unprofessional. I suspect that if I had left it, or not noticed, they would have charged me the full amount regardless of whether I stayed there or not. I am very unhappy with my experience with Hallmark. read more

I would give the Hallmark Resort 3 stars because the location of this property is breathe taking. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. My dissatisfaction is strictly with the customer service. They were all very unprofessional and lazy. It seems like to training is not complete with some of their staff. It was very clean and the bed was super comfy. We stayed in a ground floor patio room. The front desk staff was so pleasant and easy going. They offered my daughter a free beach bucket and toys to keep, really nice touch. The patio rooms are smaller and cheaper but have a great view. My only problems were that the people next door were smoking on their patio, and, while that happens, even in a place like this that is a non smoking resort, when I reported them to the front desk nothing changed. So I reported them again. Nothing. No offer from front desk to move me to a different room or anything. I dealt with this for two days then had to check out and go somewhere else when the opportunity arose to do so. What good is a Oceanview balcony when you can't use it? My second complaint is about housekeeping. I left a $20 tip for two nights, more than ample considering our room was $125/night, and left a note with the tip the first day (I like to tip the first day so they know they're appreciated and almost always, staff will be more helpful) asking for flavored creamer and hot cocoa Packets in the room. I was surprised when I came back to the room later that day with the tip money gone, of course, and in its place a note from housekeeping telling me that I can call the front desk to get those things (with an exclamation mark at the end of the sentence, no less). For a nice tip like the one I left, I shouldn't have to do that for such a small request. Poor form. Third, the hot tub was full of sand and the pool area had mildew in the Windows and the paint was peeling away. The lock on the sliding door to the balcony didn't work properly. When it was unlocked and we were outside and shut the door, it locked and we were locked out. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, a sime jiggle of the handle and the lock opened. So when we went inside we locked it and jiggle it again, it popped right open. So much for security. Also, the screen door was broken and couldn't close. I agree with reviewers that the view is amazing, but it's not worth the issues here. Probably wouldn't stay here again. read more

We were a little frustrated with a heater that wouldn't turn off, maintenance staff came in the evening when we called and replaced it. That really is as good as it gets. Loved this place. After our rental fell through, we called them on a whim. They were incredibly kind and accommodating. Our room was in the Limited Edition section, and was just terrific. Clean, newly remodeled, perfect view of the ocean, comfy bed, lots of space. We had a small kitchenette which came in handy because we visited wineries and brought snacks back. They welcomed us with a bottle of chilled champagne in our room and followed up to ask if we needed recommendations on anywhere to go or eat. Nice perk. Because we booked so late, we needed to change rooms mid-stay, and they were so nice to let us hang in our old room instead of rushing us out and making us move our stuff later. They gave constant updates of when our room would be ready and where we would be going so we could go out. The beach here is clean, and they have bonfires for the "residents" every night, but you could also just hang out on your balcony with chairs and a table too. If you want to go down to the beach, just pick up a blanket and flashlights at the front desk, and return them when done. This place was pet and kid friendly but was very clean and quiet on both accounts. Our room also had a fireplace and double TV's so my roommate and I could battle over what bad TV to watch while we were falling asleep. They have DVD players and Red Box nearby. One note is that the bed was SO comfy, I decided to inquire about the type of mattress. And I'm buying one. The hotel staff got right back to me with that info. Would recommend this place to anyone. read more

We stayed her for a Friday night quick getaway. Compared to other hotels locally and Lincoln city it's a notch above on updated room and cleanliness. Nice pool with a big hot tub and a sauna that actually works. Very friendly staff and stairs to beach. Bonus, Georgie's next door. Excellent food and we could wait in our room for when they called and a table was ready. 4 stars instead of 5 is only because 340 for one night. At least check out is noon though! read more

Love Hallmark Inn! The rooms are so nice, and the staff is great! We have stayed in the Admiral's Suite, and the regular suites. All the rooms are nice! The have a free DVD library in the gift shop too. Georgie's is next door, and they have great food with a beautiful view. read more

This hotel was fantastic! We were able to find it on my iphone, run in and get a room in under 4 minutes. The room was amazing! We had a balcony overlooking the pacific. It was only 60 steps to the beach, which we walked all over. Even has some sea creatures by the rocks. Back at the room they also had great products, flat screen tv, wifi, and coffee that didnt suck. A pool area had a hot tub and sauna. Friendly staff really makes a hotel and everyone here treated us well. Also was a restaurant on site in case ya didnt want to drive down to the wharf or wanted late night food. read more

We loved this place!!! We got a room on the bottom level so we could sit out on the patio in the adirondak chairs and watch the sunset which rivaled Hawaii!!! The beach access was also super easy! The bed was super comfortable and the room was dark!!! Love dark rooms. We are at Georgie's the restaurant on site and it was really good!!! My hubby had a blackberry salmon salad that was to die for. A super experience!!! read more

Stayed at the Hallmark Resort earlier this month and we were really happy with our choice. Our room was one of the "limited edition " upgraded rooms and was really lovely. We had two extremely comfortable, queen sized beds, a very nice sitting area with a fireplace and a great little kitchen. We were comped a bottle of champagne for my birthday - very thoughtful! The most spectacular thing, however, was the view from our private balcony. AMAZING! The staff was great from folks at the front desk to the maintenance staff and the servers and bartenders at the restaurant. We spent a fair amount of time talking to Jamie, one of the bartenders at Georgie's, who was very helpful concerning the area and recommendations of things to see and do. The most impressive part was hearing her talk about how happy the employees were and how well management treated them. Rare to hear that from employees anywhere. Reasonable prices, great views, nice people - we loved the whole experience. We will be back! read more

LOUD NOISY thin walls , was told we are not that busy but when asked for a QUITE room they couldn't help , shower had hair all over it , people with dogs allowed to run loose and relieve themselves in common area's, if you have small children watch where they play, I could go on read more

I LOVE this hotel. My husband and I have been coming here since we got married (about 5 years ago) and have never even thought of staying at another hotel. The prices are moderate for a beach front view, well worth the money. They are also dog friendly- and the dog friendly rooms don't stick and are super clean like most places! We just stayed there over this weekend again and were super pleased, as usual. This time we got a dog sitter and only took our one year old son, who was greated by staff with a little goodie bag with a beach ball, crayons, etc. Every time we have stayed here we have been treated so well, when we would come with the dogs, they always made sure to have blankets and goodie bags for them and we also stayed on our anniversary and they surprised us with champagne and little keepsakes. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are really clean, the views are gorgeous and the room service (Georgie's Beachside Grill) is amazing! I coudn't rave about this place enough! read more
