    Beautiful beach
    Amanda B.

This is our favorite spot in the entire coast. We stop here every single trip. Nothing beats this place. The grounds are breathtaking, the rooms are spotless, and it's the most beautiful beach. The only downside is that it has LOTS and I mean LOTS of stairs. My daughter counted 85 or 86 stairs. As someone that suffered a pretty bad foot injury a few years back.... I am very sore after a few days of going up and down the stairs to get to the beach. It's also on a hill and you do not park near your room. A golf cart drops you and your belongings off at the room and you have to pack your luggage up stairs. It's a ton of walking. Each room is privately owned so they have different themes and decorations. Book way in advance!!! People love the tide pools and this place is always packed. This is perfect for a romantic vacation or families.

Stayed for 1 night in January, not many people around. Clean, quiet and nice staff! Beautiful sea view from my room When I went out on the balcony you could hear and see hummingbirds flying around! Definitely would come again, price was good!

The Inn @ Otter Crest is hands-down the best place to stay on the entire Oregon Coast. The access to tide pools is enough for 5 stars. The hospitality is next level. Read carefully on their website about what it means to go here so you understand that these are often people's private condos, well furnished, loved for their era-defining aesthetics and often with awesome balconies. The second my partner and I walked in to our room at the Inn at Otter Crest, we called the front desk to book another night. Note that the road into the end is easy to drive past at night.

    The sofabed

We stayed at the Inn at Otter Crest for 2 nights. The property was well maintained and quite beautiful. It was quiet, serene, and very calming. Our room had an ocean view and was, for the most part, clean and in working order. It had two rooms, with a short hallway connecting the rooms. The bedroom was the first room you entered when entering, and the seating area with wall mounted tv was where the balcony and ocean view were. We wanted to sleep in the seating area, so we could hear the ocean at night. There was a sofabed, so we were pretty excited about sleeping with the balcony door open and listening to the crashing waves while we slept. We pulled open the sofabed, and to our shock, the mattress was stained in several spots, and the bottom of the mattress was coming apart, with exposed metal springs. A couple of the couch cushions had stains/burn marks on them. We did NOT sleep on the sofabed mattress!! Overall we did enjoy the property, the peaceful environment, and the professional staff. I would have given it a 5-star review if the sofabed mattress had been clean and safe to sleep on.

Inn at Otter Crest was a magical place! Quiet and secluded tucked away in the Sitka Spruce. Beautiful accommodations. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need. Stunning Views! Pool and Jacuzzi was wonderful! Very clean and peaceful. Staff was friendly and helpful. A hidden gem! We highly recommend it and look forward to our next visit.

I had a lovely two night mid-week getaway in a King room with a panoramic view - Room L271. I paid about $430 with taxes. If you are looking for someplace swanky, this isn't the place. If you are looking to relax and have a clean room to stay in while listening to the ocean at night check it out, it might be just right for you. *Things to know before you go: - Each room or suite is individually owned so the decor will differ but the linens and toiletries are standard throughout the resort. - The property is on a hill so you will be walking up or down a path or climbing up or down stairs as you make your way around. - The bottom of the property that is above the ocean has a large lawn, a children's playground, a swimming pool and hot tub as well as an event center. - You will not park your car near your room. There is a primary parking lot. 24 hour shuttle service is how you will get around from car to lodging and back if you don't want to walk. I used it only when departing at the end of my stay in order to get my luggage and other gear to my car. - The staff are very nice. - There are 85 stairs to get down to the beach that has amazing tide pools.

This was our first time staying at the in at otter crest. We got lucky with a good deal on hotels.com for $288 for two nights Forrest view. Our Forrest view was essentially ocean view. They have some great walking nearby, a mid restaurant on site, pool, sauna and gym. The rooms are faraway from the parking and they will golf cart you to your room complimentary. The pool is very warm and has some beautiful ocean views. I would recommend asking for an upper level room. We could hear everything that the guests above us were doing. The room was very clean when we arrived and they supplied us with plenty of towels for our stay. The bed is not the most comfortable we have slept in. In combination with the noise and the firm bed it was difficult to get a good nights sleep. Over all we will be back and recommend this hotel. I'm excited to bring friends and family here and get a adjoining room.

Location-wise, it's conveniently nestled between Depoe Bay and Newport, making it a great base for exploring the Oregon coast. Day trips and sightseeing are easy from here. We stayed in a first-floor room. While every room likely offers lovely views, privacy was a bit of a challenge. We had looked forward to visiting this hotel for nearly a decade, especially for the spa on the balcony overlooking the cove--but we weren't comfortable using it due to direct visibility from the restaurant. The patio furniture was also quite firm, which made it tough to enjoy long stretches on the balcony--even with that incredible view. Inside the room, the layout and size were excellent. We appreciated the extra space to stretch out, and the oversized shower and double sinks were a plus. Our room appeared to include accessibility features, which may explain why the toilet area lacked a door despite the generous bathroom space. That said, there were a few areas where the room showed its age. The carpet had visibly shrunk around the edges, and the furniture felt a bit dated. Climate control was also an issue--there's no way to adjust the temperature beyond opening the door. This led to a bit of a tug-of-war between too hot and too cold, which definitely affected our sleep. Unfortunately, the coffee maker didn't work properly, and since there's no staff available after hours, there wasn't a way to get a replacement. The pillows weren't our favorite, though the bed itself was very comfortable. Overall, if you're planning a visit, the view is well worth it. Just go in with realistic expectations about some of the amenities and comfort features.

All in all the one improvement that I would recommend to the management would be to assign room numbers to the inner parking area. It would be fine if those staying there drove only one vehicle however I noticed some of the guests staying there arrived in multiple vehicles. I am honestly surprised that you are allowed to continue…read morerenting these units. 1) water damage, soft Sheetrock and peeling paint throughout the INSIDE ceilings And walls of both the first and second floors. It is very clear there has been significant water intrusion for years and never properly repaired. Painting over wet Sheetrock doesn't fix the fact that water is getting inside the unit from outside. This is common sense. 2) back door does not close(top left 1/3 allows sunlight and wind to intrude because it is not possible to close the door enough to seal against the weatherstripping) because the entire two story structure has significantly settled unevenly, and was never properly repaired, this is clearly a security concern. The living room is a Wind tunnel between bottom of the front door which has a huge gap at the thresh hold and the back door. 3) floor on first level has so many soft spots where the sub floor is clearly rotted, I am guessing from water damage, I am genuinely concerned that I am going to fall through. 4) power strips are "Daisy chained" together in almost every room constituting a fire code violation. 5) carpets are very stained and dirty, food stuck to arms of furniture in living room. Spider webs accumulated at corners of windows and between side tables and walls in master bedroom. The overall cleanliness of the unit is unacceptable. 6) Couch is completely broken down and falling apart and should be thrown away. I brushed my tailbone sitting down on it. Dining chairs are falling apart and are unsafe to sit on. Television in living room is about ready to fall completely off of its pedestal. 7) mold in the downstairs shower poop below toilet between vanity. 8) hvac vent in downstairs bathroom furry with rust. 9) hvac filter is so dirty and clogged the system is beginning to eat it. 10) the girl at the front desk was less than interested and less than helpful when we asked about the best place to see the local fireworks show; "the fireworks are at the bay. That's where you have to go". Clearly she believed me to be a simpleton, or perhaps it's just her. 11) our first morning here the irrigation sprinklers outside came on FOUR different times! At 5 am, 6 am, 7 am AND 8 am. The sprinklers around the entire property are pointed directly at the housing units. The rain bird sprinkler at the front of the unit sounds like someone is pounding one the door! When I opened the front door, I was promptly soaking wet. The sprinklers at the rear yard completely spray the unit, the deck is completely drenched and water got into all of the open windows. 12)the "bbq" that we are supposed to share with four other units is a rusty dilapidated unusable safety hazard. It is literally falling apart and not even horizontal anymore. 13)broken cupboard doors in kitchen 14) jetted tub had not been cleaned from at least one previous tenant, it was incredibly gross. We cleaned the damn thing ourselves. It is so loud when turned on that it is not worth using. 15)electrical wires that have been cut and left bare are sticking up out of the ground along the pathways out side. 16)pathway lights are not working at night at the front of this set of units make the front door approach very dark and unsafe after sundown. 17) rain gutters are completely full of dirt, growing a healthy crop of 8" tall weeds and beginning to fall away from the facia. Were just One of these gutters full of dirt to fall to the ground and hit someone, it would most certainly cause serious injury and/or death. 18)fire extinguishers throughout the grounds have no signage and are completely hidden behind overgrown foliage. This is the second fire code violation. 19) the refrigerator is pulled out several feet from the back wall, placing the appliance inconveniently near the center of the kitchen floor. 20) vehicles are allowed to be parked in front of and blocking fire hydrants(3rd fire code violation). 21) Abandoned boat and trailer(last registered in 2019) is occupying three parking spaces. 22) vinyl siding is falling off of the units and is laying on the ground where it fell, property wide. We will never come back here. The condition of this property is abundant evidence that your guests comfort and safety are of little consequence to you. This level disrepair is not something that "just happened" or has "fallen through the cracks", this is the result of years of intentional decisions to ignore maintenance and safety problems in order to increase profits. You have chosen profits over people. This is the most blatant and egregious example of criminally irresponsible stewardship of Club resources that I have ever witnessed. We will be sure to share with everyone we know what an absolute disaster this place is and that it is VERY clearly the direct result of intentional poor maintenance and very bad management.
