Forgot to take pictures! But this place is pretty solid! Probably not the most authentic Filipino food but flavor is good. We tried the chicken inasal (grilled chicken in a soy base marinade) and to us it was delicious! When in Vegas the strip doesn't offer too many option of Filipino cuisine and we were getting quite tired of the abundant amount of restaurants that serve mainly american food. We saw this place and gave it a try and automatically it made us feel like we were in our Tito (Uncle in Tagalog) backyard. Taste was flavorful and definitely a change to what's typical served in Vegas. This place is small but service is quick and located in a large food court so lots of seating available. I was so excited to find there was Filipino food offered here. I needed something to give me life and sadly I was let down. I ordered chicken adobo and traditional halo halo. My chicken was dry and no adobo juice at all it was like it was just sitting under the light and microwaved. I let that go and thought my halo halo will save me. Ok, it's a little unassuming spot in the Venetian food court. Stopped by to grab the chicken lumpia not once but twice. It was so good I had to get another order the very next day. I didn't try anything else because when in Vegas we have our meals planned and reservations made, BUT if it wasn't for that, I would have tried more. Halo Halo Kitchen is located in the Venetian food court, you'll find them on the second floor of the Grand Canal shoppes. I had Mais con Yelo ($10.99), which is delightful and refreshing! It's shaved ice with evaporated milk, cream-style sweet corn, topped with leche flan, a scoop of ube ice cream, and crispy pinipig which is toasted rice flakes, similar to a rice crispy topping. When it was made, there was an overwhelming load of cream-style sweet corn and I kindly asked the staff member Orlando if he can remake the Mais con Yelo with less corn and more shaved ice. He's so nice and accommodating, I greatly appreciate it! Mais con Yelo is nostalgic and simple to make. It's kind of like Halo Halo where you're mixing the shaved ice together with sweet toppings. The name Mais con Yelo translates to "corn with ice," and focus mostly on sweet corn. Whereas Halo-Halo means "mix mix" of various toppings that include sweetened beans, fruits, and jellies. This Halo halo was made with snow ice, a variety of sweet jellies, beans, flan, coconut, jackfruit, sweet plantain, and topped off with Ube flavored ice cream. I waited 20 minutes for my order, which is fine if it's coming out hot & fresh. I got my order to-go and took it up to my room and when I opened the container the lechon belly was burnt. You can tell that it's just been re-heated and they forgot about it. The worst part is that they saw this and still decided to serve it. At about 10:30pm on a Saturday night after having some drinks and not so much luck gambling in the casino, I wanted something fast that I could bring up to the room with me. I walked the food court and wasn't feeling the choices. Then I saw tiny Halo Halo and checked out their menu. It was perfect, I was craving sisig and since it is a dish places can't mess up, I ordered and was on my way back to my room within 15 mins. It's a "cleaned up" version of sisig, in my opinion. However, that is expected given the location, I get it. It still tasted like sisig over rice and it hit the spot. For the price, it was on the small side, but again, maybe that is to be expected being in the Venetian food court. I was about to walk away until I realized, "No sauce? Where's the vinegar?" They have a small menu which understandable because of the limited space they have. They have the basic Filipino dishes like lumpia, crispy pata, adobo, longanisa, tapa, tocino, bangus, sisig, and pancit palabok. For dessert, they have turon (sweet plantain, jackfruit wrapped in rice paper then fried. Like a sweet plantain and jackfruit egg roll), and of course, halo-halo (shaved ice with jelly, fruits, beans at the bottom. Topped with Ube ice cream and flan. Pour some milk and mix it all together. Halo means mix in Filipino). I don't remember seeing liempo, chicken or pork bbq, and lechon kawali on their menu but then again, limited space = limited menu. Now, their menu seems interesting. They have wagyu beef lumpia, and a lobster and shrimp lumpia which are not traditional lumpia ingredients. I wanted to try the wagyu beef lumpia but my sister voted against it. "You don't deep fry beef. It gets dry." Crispy Pata: If I can't get lechon kawali then, I have to get crispy pata. Pata = leg. In this case, crispy pork leg. You have to chop it so you can dip bite sized portions in soy-vinegar with onions and eat with rice. Theirs is well-cooked. Decent portion. I had to fix the soy-vinegar dipping sauce when I got home (it needed more soy sauce and onions). 4/5 Lumpia Shanghai: I went with the traditional fried pork lumpia. It comes with a sweet and sour sauce. Good amount of filling that has good flavor. Crispy. The sauce is good. 4/5 Filipino food takes a while to prepare. I know this is a food court so, if you are pressed for time, go somewhere else. If you're willing to wait 30 minutes then, go here. Of course, something like halo-halo will only take a few minutes to make. But for hot food, you got to wait. We ended our weeklong vacation by gambling until 3 AM and sleeping until 11 AM. Because we slept past our usual waking time (7 AM) so long, we both woke with headaches and growling stomachs. My Asian food-loving eating husband didn't want to leave The Strip for brunch, so we wandered into the food court at The Venetian, where we found Halo Halo Filipino Kitchen. The friendly and smiley mánang greeted us as we approached the food stall to get a better menu view. We decided to get their longsilog breakfast which consisted of three links of sweet pork longanisa, savory fried egg, and steamed white rice (although garlic fried rice was an option) for the low price of $9.99. After we paid the cashier, she gave us a pager, and we sat in the crowded, shared, open dining room. We waited about 15 minutes for our food order. My husband retrieved the food containers after returning the pager. Both containers were generously portioned, or as we call them, "wrist benders," and were steaming hot as the aromas of the grilled sweet pork longanisa gushed out from the containers' covers when we opened them. The grilled longanisa, fried egg, and fluffy rice were served to us fresh and hot from the kitchen, and the 15-minute wait was worth it. The breakfast was tasty, comforting, and filling, which held our appetites until our 6:30 PM dinner reservation.
