I was driving a long on the freeway, and boom my check engine light popped on on my telluride.v so I went home and looked up a place to take it to that was nearby. I called a couple of shops and landed with Halsey's, man I was no disappointed! First when I called a young lady answered the phone, I think her name was Vanessa (she wasn't there when I arrived), she was extremely nice and helpful, she then transferred me to Alan and what a nice man he was. I had questions which he answered every single one with no hesitation. So I decided to bring my car in, although the office was a bit dusty, it looks like they try to keep it neat, considering how busy they are, and I know it is hard to get good help these days I deal with it myself. Alan was very welcoming and listened to everything I had to say and completed writing me up, he even asked a lot more questions to get an understanding of what was happening(which is rare), most places I have been to just say "check engine light ok we will check it out". So Alan also explained they are going to do a courtesy inspection on my van which I agreed to. Fast forward a few hours I get a text from Halsey's that my inspection was done and a link to view it. How advanced are these guys to offer that through text and email. When I clicked on the link I was taken to the inspection of my car, everything had pictures and had notes about what was needed. I then received a call from Alan and he was nice, gracious, and understanding when he was explaining everything to me. Now this place isn't the cheapest by no means, but cost isn't everything you get what you pay for. These guys went the extra mile on everything they did and I have a car that is much more happy now. Halsey's will be my go-to for everything now as their service is absolutely amazing! I even got a follow up text two days later from Alan asking how everything is. That is amazing service! I was having problems with my car. After a long stint out of the country I had to re register my 99' Pathfinder but it wouldn't pass smog. I approached Halsey as they were right across the street from my house and was told the issue. I shopped around a decent amount, because well times are hard and I work in the sciences and not on the side that is big $$ and Halsey's prices stood up as considerably cheaper. They got the job done quick and a week or two later I received my registration in the mail. Jump to a month ahead its a Saturday night and I have just worked a 10 hour shift, I am driving home to my one night off I'll have during the week and steam starts pouring from under my hood. I pulled over let it cool down and put some oil and coolant in the reservoir. This had happened before on hot desert jobs. I drove it home knowing I would have to do something about it before Monday morning 6:00AM, something that seemed impossible on a Saturday after five. The one technician in the garage remembered me and my vehicle. I told him my situation. He made it his. First he arranged to have a car I could borrow for work until mine would me done Monday afternoon. Then after a half hour or so of tinkering he came in and said "Your going to be real happy." He had fixed the leak and replaced the fasteners on the radiator hose. When I asked him how much he said "Don't worry about it, happy holidays." These guys go above and beyond. Last week as I was driving down Sierra Highway, I heard a clunking noise on the right side as if I ran over something, then right away all my dash lights came on, then the next problem was I could barely turn my steering wheel.......it was very hard to make a right turn into the next side street. It was the Monday after the 4th of July weekend. I called Halsey's and explained what happened (in a panic of course) and the nice lady (I think her name is Andrea?) told me to bring it in. Luckily I was only about 2 miles away from them, put on my 4 way flashers, and drove and steered the best I could. After a 10 minute wait, one of the mechanics came out. He showed me a belt hanging down behind my right tire. It was the "serpentine" belt broke. This belt runs everything under the hood. Power steering, battery, alternator, starter, etc. etc. He told me that he can order one and have it repaired in about 4 hours!!! He called about 3 hours later, noticing that the water pump was leaking. Not good in the summer! So he replaced that for me too. It was ready in another couple of hours, and he accepted the $20.00 discount for me from his web page. 3 year warranty on parts and labor! I was looking for months for a auto service center that could service our Highlander Hybrid in Santa Clarita. Every Google search sent me out of our town and was exorbitantly expensive to fix our hybrid system. I found Halsey's by doing another search and just calling every center on that list. When I saw that Halsey's was just around the corner from us I called them and they saw my hybrid the same day to diagnose the problem. A week later after parts were ordered they commenced the hybrid system repair. Now our Highlander Hybrid sounds good as new. Even when warning lights came back on after the repair John and Sam told me to bring her back in. They diagnosed and said if it happened again they would repair without a charge. We're very happy to finally find a hybrid repair service that doesn't cost and arm and leg to get our hybrids fixed. We're very happy to have found Halsey's. read more

So this review is a longtime coming. These guys have helped me and my businesses so much over the years, the review is due. I have known john for many many years and he has always taken really good care of me, my family and my friends. They are always there when I need them, day or night and they really do out of their way to make sure I am well taken care of. They recently started doing these digital inspections and man I cannot not say more good things about it. It is very comforting to know they are taking the time to make sure I know what is going on with my car(s), and there is never pressure to buy anything, I can leave there knowing my car has been fixed properly. I went to my dealership first to have a tailgate lock install on my 2018 Ridgeline; to make a long story short the service rep person didn't know what he was doing and they messed up my appointment for the work. So I searched around and found Halsey's auto service online and set up my appointment, they knew exactly what parts was needed and did a fantastic job of installation and they even painted the replacement to match the exact color of the car. The dealership would have not done this and it would have cost extra if I had requested the paint work done. The price was very low and I'll say that parts and labor total was far less than what the dealer was going to charge me for the installation alone at the dealership. Terry is the new manager and he is a great customer service guy and he knew how to get it all together. read more

So I have been a longtime customer of Halsey's, they have worked on all of my families cars for many many years. They are always true to their word and keep everything on track. John and Alan are the best guys around and always take great care of our vehicles, one great thing they have implemented is the fact that they do a Digital video inspection now that is the coolest and most honest way for me to know what is going on with my car. They have always been there, and provided great service, and value for what I am paying for. They stand behind everything for 3 years and I have only had one warranty issue that the car had to come back a few weeks after the repair, but they provided a rental car to make sure I was not out of work or anything. Since I don't drive my 1988 Blazer very much, the battery went dead on me. Upon trying to jumpstart the car I was unable to raise the hood, neither was my neighbor or the tow truck driver so I had it towed to Halseys. They had no trouble opening the hood and I asked them to do an oil change while it was there. Not only did they do an oil change but they performed a complete inspection which I greatly appreciated. They discovered a few items that need attention but didn't pressure me to do them immediately as the car is not driven very much. I appreciated their honesty and thoroughness and will be returning to have the things they identified repaired. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and courteous. John and Sam are the best. I took my truck to a competitor and they absolutely made me hate my truck, did a terrible job, and completely ruined the head job they were supposed to perform. John and Sam took their time went over every inch of my truck and did a outstanding job with all the repairs. They corrected all of the horrible workmanship from the other shop and gave me my truck back. I am a very very happy customer and I would recommend anyone to go to Halsey automotive. Once again Halsey's has come through....we have 3 hybrids (2 Priuses and a Highlander) and whenever one of them has an electrical issue with a plethora of warning lights blazing across the dashboard I call Halsey's. This time it was one of our Priuses that would not go into gear and had a lot of warning lights that I had to take a picture just to get them all. We finally managed to get her started and into gear to get her to Halsey's and sure enough a day later the problem was solved. what a awesome shop Sam and John are great took my recently purchase 1999 jeep to see if they could fix a small oil leek and a problem I was having with my instrument gage jumping around . I was told by other shops all old jeeps leek some oil not true Halsey's replaced the rear main seal. they even went the extra mile to scrap off the liquid gasket off the oil pan last mechanic had used in place of a real gasket . the gages are working fine now no more jumping around I wanted to put some miles on before posting this review 1000 miles and all is good . Yet one more excellent day at Hasley's. Received an email reminder that it was time for my oil change, minor service. Got an appointment for that and for a recommended (last year) right axel replacement. A couple hours after dropping off my car, Terry called to let me know that the price for the axel had gone up since the quote of a year ago-he wanted to make sure I was fine with the price change prior to beginning the work. I just purchased a Mitsubishi Montero 4x4 and was looking for someone to go over it and do the repairs. I was familiar with Halsey's because old man Halsey and my father were friends and I knew that it was under new ownership but I decided to go ahead and check them out.
