The crew was "Team 3" which did such great work. Less than one day to complete with attention to every detail and excellent clean up. This helped us save money on the initial assessment and being able to clean up both sides at the same time was helpful for everyone. The 1st day I had an amazing team I called the climber and the carrier. Both of these gentlemen were not only highly efficient but totally thorough, knowledgeable and professional about everything they did. I actually have to admit my backyard is getting sunshine for the first time, and it's so uplifting. The second day I had the same climber, but a different carrier, and I was nervous that it would not be as good as the first day. Not only did they meet all my expectations, but at the end of the day, every carrier and climber were in the backyard, picking up the final branches, right down to the tiniest of twigs. It's almost embarrassing that my backyard has never looked cleaner than it does today. I had 3 estimates and cutting plans developed with 3 different companies before Joe Grab came into our lives. They were kind enough to review the prior plans and assured me that they too were going to follow similar plans of cutting hangers and deadwood, and thin out so that there are not problems in the future, for much less money. I can't even guesstimate how many pounds of material they took out of here, but I'm sure it ran in the thousands. They gave my little forest continuity and a very clean look, and they gave my house sunshine. Quality Performance was used to trim a laurel hedge and remove a tree on the property line with my…read moreneighbors. The trimming and tree removal went fine, but they neglected to trim about 6 ft of the laurel hedge. In the written estimate that all parties agreed to it stated "reduce laurel to 10ft." When I called Quality Performance to discuss finishing the laurel job they explained that the whole hedge was not part of the estimate. I explained that nowhere in the estimate did it say they would not trim back the entire hedge. They began blaming my neighbor for the miscommunication when it is Quality Performance's responsibility to clearly indicate what is to be completed in the estimate. When I read "reduce laurel to 10ft" I assumed that meant the entire hedge and not a partial job. The worst part of working with this company was their customer service. What is clearly their responsibility they turned back around on me and my neighbors and were not open to listening or making the situation right. I will not work with this company again and I recommend anyone deciding to use them to be extremely clear in their written communication about what is to be completed in the job.

My experience was mixed. I initially wanted a quote to remove a street tree that was damaging a…read morepublic sidewalk. We discussed the possible issues regarding city tree removal permitting, site specific challenges etc. and received a quote of $2700 to remove the tree and grind the stump. I filled out and returned the permit application and waited for city approval. Approx. 6 weeks later I got a call from Evergreen and was told the city denied my permit for a few reasons but that they would allow a structural pruning and gave me a quote for two trees witch was almost as much as the one tree removal. I went ahead and approved the work and gave a deposit. Later I sent an email to the city arborist asking for clarity on why the permit was denied and was told their office had no record of the denial yet. I was a bit annoyed that Evergreen made it sound like the denial was a done deal and scheduled the pruning before any official denial was recorded or given to me directly by the city. I would have waited until it was officially denied in writing before proceeding. If there was any chance that the permit had been approved I likely would have had to eat the pruning cost for the one tree AND paid the removal cost later.

They were very prompt in responding to my inquiry of an estimate. In deciding to go with them, Gordon and his crew were outstanding and amazing in their removal of the trees without any fence or deck damage. And, all in one day! Their clean up of all the debris was impeccable, including replacing heavy yard items I had not been able to move out of their way initially. My neighbors even complimented their courtesy, professionalism, and care as they had to clean up a bit of lighter debris that had fallen into their yard. Oh, and they were significantly less in their estimate and final cost than any other company I received estimates from. I highly recommend them for anyone looking at tree removal, and if I ever have a tree issue again I will certainly call upon them.

About three weeks ago a large tree limb fell about 50 feet at two in the morning and just missed…read moretaking out a door and windows. That's the third limb this winter. It was time to get help. Matt (with Monkeyman's) stopped by and explained how his crew would shorten more than a dozen limbs that were too long and remove debris from the trees. The crew arrived last week and two climbers went up into the trees, roped off, and shimmied out on the limbs to make their cuts. They are professional in how they treat the trees and their own safety. They did a great job of cleaning up.

They took their time cutting the tree down, which I appreciated because it could have done a lot of damage. I think they were here for three days working on it before it was finally completed.
