Thieves! Don't trust leaving anything in your car. I read all the signs and am well aware that they aren't responsible for any belongings left in the car. My car charger was stolen. The manager was nice enough to look at the videos to see if he saw anyone swipe it. Of course he didn't! He offered me NOTHING to replace it. I got an 'I'm sorry'! It was an expensive 3 USB charger. That was my first time going there and my last. Update... I wish I could give zero stars for the response I got insinuating my charger will be found. If something is stolen, the only way to 'find' it is if it's given back to the rightful owner. Clearly, that will not happen. read more

Called Saturday, spoke to a nice girl on the phone for an appointment to bring my car in for a NY State inspection and an oil change. She informed me no appointment is necessary. Problems today. Nice sunny day in NY. Went for a NY state inspection and was told 'we have no more stickers', But come back tomorrow. Normally I would believe they ran out of stickers if it was a weekday, and to tell someone to come back tomorrow? On a Monday morning that all of a sudden stickers will appear?obviously since they probably don't make any money on inspections, and are so near sited, that they do on oil changes and car washes, they lost a good customer. I bet if it was a miserable and rainy day there would be plenty of slots available for oil changes and state inspections. Good bye overpriced car wash location. read more

Absolute waste of my time and money. After leaving the $32.00 car wash I noticed two windows weren't touched and are still filthy. They left dust all over the interior. Didn't vacuum the cup holders or the emergency brake. Interior cleaning spray was left unwiped. Also soapy water dripping all down the back of the car. I'll never go back. read more

I have a Ford exploder! Been experiencing problems with my SUV five years after owning it. I went to Hambletonian to get an oil change and I had the opportunity to speak with senior mechanic Mike. He noticed a problem I've been having with this vehicle for a few months now that a Ford dealership in Newburgh diagnosed to cost over $3000 to fix. Mike was able to dissect the problem and figure out that my cost to repair was only $300. Mike is honest, fair, and has integrity I haven't seen in a long time in the many years of my life. I live 40 minutes away and I will only see him for future problems until I get the courage to buy a new vehicle and deal with the monthly disheartening car payments. I have used Hambletonian for many years. From car washes to oil changes and inspections to complex mechanical work, I trust them whole-heartedly. Mike D (the service manager) is always very personable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. He is very honest and has never tried to up sell anything. I trust him with mine and my children's cars. The rest of the mechanical staff is quite knowledgeable as well. I recently leased a new vehicle that I took back to the dealership for the first maintenance check (it was free)... 3 days later that same dealership towed my vehicle back to the dealership to replace my tire rims because they failed to tighten the lug nuts (on ALL four tires) during the maintenance work; I could have died!!!, Totally get what you pay for and all maintenance since that experience I have done at Hambletonian; I trust no one else. read more

Clean place, nice staff but to pay $38 to clean a car (not a suburban... A 4 door car) and to get that job... No, I'm done with this place. I've been paying the high price because of the clean environment. Well guess what, I'd like a clean car too. I mean it takes all of 3 minutes to clean the rims. Not like they're loaded with brake dust. I could clean them with a napkin (like I did). I'd be surprised if they even ran a rag over them. The last 4 times I've had to ask for a rag to do it myself. This time it was time to simply walk away and close this book. I'd compare this cleaning to the $10 automatic car wash on Rte 17. I'm still debating 3 stars. I wish the people were nasty so I'd feel good about giving them the 1 star they so truly deserve!!!! read more

They showed me an air filter today during my oil change visit and I don't believe it was mine. They wanted me to get a new one of course so they showed me a filter full of leaves. My car is only 1 year old and I'm sure it didn't belong to my car. They show the same filter to all people that they want to sell a new filter to. Watch out ! read more

I had the triple crown service done. The outside still had bug and bird crap on it and the inside had dirt on the seats and floor. I had my mats shampooed and they threw them in the trunk soaking went. They were curled up and dirty. I could tell I didn't get my money's worth as I watched the guy doing my car and you could tell he didnt care. read more

I've used Hambletonian Sap a bunch of times over the years and have always been happy, but today I was just WOWed with how great the car came out. Today I got the full spa package with the car wash and full wiped down of the inside of the car. My car had not been washed in over a year and we have a long haired Saint Bernard that comes with us anywhere that we go. The outside of the car looks great, but i'm just over the moon with how well the inside looks. It looks like I just drove off the parking lot. You would not even know that we own a 160lb long haired dog that's in the car 2-3 times a day! I hight recommend this place. read more

The service was great. I went to Hambletonian to get my headlight fixed and the people there were nice. Matt is the person who helped me out and he was fantastic! Very nice and he was able to quickly fix the problem with the headlight and he was nice enough to still give me the complimentary car wash even though I missed the deadline for it by a couple days. I am so surprised to see a negative review here of the Hambletonian. I've been using the Hambletonian for the past five years and I have always found that the services provided were fast, consistent, and skillfully done. All of the employees are gracious and respectful. The facility itself is spotless and bright. The waiting room is comfortable and makes you feel like you're in your own living room. In defense of Hambletonian Auto Spa, I've got to say that they are by far the best full service car wash in Orange County. I used to have to travel to Ramsey NJ to find a full service center such as this and since they opened I've been going there with complete satisfaction. Add to that the convenience of being able to get most minor services done on my vehicles all in one visit and you'll see why I consider them the best around. read more

After applying wax to my car which I paid for the worker was planning to spray the car with window cleaner to remove the bugs. That's pathetic. Your excuses can't cover up your errors. You should retrain your staff. 1. Don't do a bad job and pretend you have a solution. 2. The customer is always right. 3. Retention of customers will pay your bills so don't mess up and lose customers. 4. If a customer complains take it seriously because you might be the first to be let go when times get slow. 5. If a customer is at the desk with a complaint don't pretend to be busy and ignore the problem, find a solution that is fair. 6. When the customer requests to speak with the owner don't give them a business card with the front desks number and ignore the phone. ITS THAT SIMPLE! read more

Little pricey, but they do an excellent job!! I had dog hair all over my car (I love my dog, but she sheds a lot) and they got almost all of it out in one wash. To be fair, I went with the heavy duty SUPER clean wash, and it was done in a timely matter and everything was spotless! Not to mention, the staff was very friendly. Went for oil change and was told needed major repairs. Ha Ha Family has a mechanic and asked to check out these major repairs. Told not needed and oil pan not leaking. The staff is rude no one smiles and every time they do an oil change they come into the waiting area saying all the extras your vehicle needs, air filter, etc. funny thing is my Jeep was brand new! It's not ever ok to try to make extra money adding things to the tab you actually do not need. FYI an air filter can be blown out many times which is free you do not always need a new one. read more

They had no issues letting my husband inspect the engine to verify that their assessment was accurate. I'm sad to post this review, because I like their mechanics. But, their car wash is terrible. It was a busy Sunday morning. I signed up for the $20 "Win." I should have skipped the place, entirely. It went bad from the start. The guys up front had a lot of cars to do, and my car wasn't filthy. So, nobody bothered to scrub the front of my car. Then, going through the automated part, I noticed that half of the the over-head scrubber section wasn't working. So, only half of my car got scrubbed. Then, on to the front-end, windshield and roof brush (you know, the horizontal bar of brushes that is counter-weighted and is supposed to follow the contour of your car). But, this brush is set too high, so, it only touched the top 1/3 of my car, it didn't even touch my hood or trunk, and only hit the top 1/2 of my windshield. The rest of the machinery appeared to work properly, but I was already fuming mad, and stopped really paying attention. After the wash, they put on "tire shine." But the tire shine was basically gone by the time I made it the 3 miles home. I told the cashier about all of their broken equipment, and that only half of my car was washed. She gave me a blank look and a half-hearted "OK," and took $2 off the price. $2 off a $20 wash for only washing half of my car?!?! And what's worse, is I'm sure they kept on using the broken and improperly-adjusted equipment all day, charging everyone full price for garbage work, and didn't fix it. Overall this place provides no value. It looks like it's being run down, nobody cares to do the right thing, and they're using low-quality products on your car. Go somewhere else. read more

I have always been an old school hand wash guy. Based on the info on their website, I stopped in to speak with someone to see if maybe Hambletonian would be easy on the car finish & what the process was. I spoke to (I believe) Josh. He was very informative and told me all about the care taken for the interior clean, the high pressure pre-wash; then the soapy chemical soap that is scratch preventative; the low speed foam washing strips that shed dirt & grit every revolution; the wheel buff; air dry, towel dry & window clean. It sounded all good - so I brought my car for a wash several days later after a commute in salt & slush. Well - I pulled up; hopped out and handed the car over to the attendant. So, 2 guys whipped through the car with this air blower where I could see the debris swirling in the cabin. Then the vacuuming began. This was done with no light touch. The leather seats were vacuumed with a hard edge nozzle; Then, my all season mats (with the spikes on the bottom so they don't slide) were very unceremoniously dragged up onto the seats while the carpet was vacuumed. All this was going on while the car was standing still. The automation starts pulling the car forward. The guys frantically finish up the vacuum; slam closed the doors and start spraying this foam on the car. Now, the car is already almost passed them and they are kind of arcing this foam spray to try to get some on the front of the vehicle. The vehicle goes through - it's all soap & scrub. The vehicle get's blow dried & towel dried. The window interiors get done. Here's the takeaway; There was no pre-wash at all - period. The pre-wash soap was kind of lobbed onto the vehicle as it was on it's way into the automation. The vehicle was certainly not 'coated' as had been described to me The pre-clean and vacuuming - The guys just dive into the car & climb around to complete their mission with no finesse or light hand. Was the car clean? Well pretty much - But I had specifically stopped in with concerns that automated washes are harsh on the clear coat and to see if Hambletonian (per their site) had a system/process that was not as harsh. The ONE STAR is specifically a result of the service not being as described. Had I just stopped in for a wash and had the same experience - I probably would have gone 2 stars. What I was told during my inquiry visit was simply not the case. It's just another production line car wash. That may be fine for some or most - but this review will hopefully be useful to that other segment that take extra interest in caring for thier vehicle. BTW - I now have a scratch in the windshield as well as the clear coat on the roof of my vehicle that could only have come from those vertical hanging foam pads that was not present prior. This place ruined/damaged my car and never returned any calls in spite of my following their protocol. I cannot drive my car through a car wash again due to the damage as it would now cause more. My insurance will not pay for the repair. This is important for all to remember...enter a car was at your own risk. It would have been nice if the owner had called me as I had been told by the manager numerous times. They continually passed the buck and lied to me. Nobody seemed to care. I have not and will never go to this place again. They may do a fair job, but take warning... if your car is damaged...you may as well forget it. Nobody there cares!!!!! read more

I get in my truck only having my outside done and my phone is missing . after 50 minutes of looking in the truck after a few times it suddenly appears above my visor...a worker says with a cracked screen...my screen was not cracked before the wash.before that I used their cordless phone in my truck to hear it ring...nothing. requested to have owner call me. I had to call next day to speak to someone. the owner Mrs Sommers called and said my guys don't steal and he can't look at your phone? also saying I'm looking for a new phone and why wasn't my phone in my purse. I said that shouldn't matter...I was only looking for the screen protector maybe a $25.00. and the tire shine I paid for that they never did. two people had problems there that I know of...1 person had a license plate taken off and a guy on main St had floor pads missing. after her screaming I was told I should of told them to put tire shine on ...which they should do since I paid for it.....and not paying for my screen. like others commented.. The Hambletonian Auto Spa is a very fast and convenient way to keep up with the basic maintenance of your vehicle. We have always found the staff to be very friendly there, the service has been prompt, the hours accommodating, and the prices have been fair. The tchotchke shop provides a unique diversion while the work is being performed, and the waiting area is very comfortable complete with a television, free WiFi, and even a gas fireplace for those winter months. The overall atmosphere is unique and very comfortable. Although it is part of their standard procedure to recommend maintenance services beyond the ordinary oil change and tire rotation, the technicians often seem regretful or nervous in bringing these concerns to the attention of the customer -- this is understandable because a lot of people don't understand maintenance and probably tend to lash out at the messenger rather than take responsibility for their vehicles. I know my way around my cars so sometimes I go with the suggestions and other times not, but I do not believe there is any dishonest intent whatsoever, and they have caught plenty of potentially serious issues before they became big headaches. My sense is that while there may be a certified mechanic running the operation, the technicians may be in it a bit over their heads and they either don't entirely understand what they are trying to sell or they just need to brush up on their selling skills to differentiate when the customer needs things explained in layman's terms or not -- this would go a long way towards projecting confidence. Still, at the end of the day, for a quick oil change, tire rotation, and a wash, there's nothing better! read more

Brought my 2016 Jeep Compass in for oil change and tire rotation. They rotated the tires, drained the oil, but DID NOT REPLACE THE OIL. They let me drive out of there with NO OIL in the car!! Very irresponsible. read more

I only use them for the car wash, I get the hambletonian every time after tax its about 35.00. Every time I go the car is never done correctly. either the windows are all streaked, the door panels are still dirty. there's always something not done right. I always tell myself I am not going back any more. I went on 7/29 a Saturday morning, it was not that busy. When I got my car the drivers carpet was not vacuumed, I should not have to complain it should be done right the first time. This place used to be good I don't know what happened to it, it's all new faces cleaning the cars, I am not expecting a detailed car but I want it done right. they do the bare minimum.
