If this place was located closer to the main road, they'd have to build a bigger place. It's kind of set back where it doesn't get a lot of exposure and the building's not much to look at but good gosh, they sure know how to make great food! We tried the burger, A+. We tried the fried pickles, A+. Fries and tater tots were fine but you're going to this place for the burger. I'll visit this place next time I come down here for sure. read more

This place does not freeze their meat. There are not fillers called meat in the burgers like the chains which are more like spam. The fountain drinks are not "watered down" like casa ole, Boogerking, Jackncrack, ect. it's the only place I know where Dr. Pepper taste like it should. Service was great for me, everyone nice to me. Expect to pay about a dollar more than the chains but your burger will be twice or more the size of the skinny Ethiopian patty you get from the others and the soft drink or tea you get will be strong with flavor, NOT taste like carbonated water with a pinch of flavor. read more

I got the patty melt and for the amount of grease in the container, the food was dry. Also the patty melt was extremely salty.

I swear, this is the best burger restaurant we've maybe ever been. My husband loves the cheeseburgers and I get the chicken wrap with avocado. There are vegetarian options, lower calorie options, even the most amazing grilled veggie side. You can order right from the menu or choose from a lot of different add-ons or customizations, like the black bean chipotle burger, add a fried egg or avocado to your burger, or get a salad with several dressing choices. There are wraps, lots of sides, and your choice of buns, tortillas, etc. No kidding, every time we come to Jasper we practically run to this place. I don't know what they use to season their food, but it's incredible. Everything is cooked to perfection and when you order it, which we love. It's worth waiting if it's cooked fresh when you order it. The staff is friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, just go check it out. read more

I stopped in here one Saturday. Place was clean. Condiments layed out nicely and we'll stocked just inside the door. Menu had a nice easy to read non messy layout. I ordered a fried chicken wrap with ranch dressing and curly fries. Was amazing. Was offered choice of a spinach tortilla as the wrap, but declined. Seating for probably 20 in a no frills area off to the side of the ordering bar. All in all was tasty, fairly priced, and would like to stop in again. read more

I was told this is the original one (and it looks like it). Four stars because they definitely need to do some work to the building, it looks pretty bad on the outside especially. The food however is really good. The Hamburgers are delicious, especially with extra 1000 island dressing, and the onion rings are some of the best I've had. My girlfriend loved her chicken strips also. I would recommend hamburger depot to anyone that likes a great burger. read more

The food was average and the service was "annoyed." Our burgers were poorly built, much like a McDonalds burger, except we paid three times for these. They tasted okay, but the quality was low. However, I had no complaints with the fried catfish. The service, on the other hand, could only be described as "annoyed at life." Not a single smile or friendly gesture. It may be custom to be less outwardly friendly in this area, but from what I've witnessed, only with customer service. read more

I went to the Hamburger Depot in Lumberton and was harassed by the staff there for complaining about the long wait time for my order and complaining that our two large orders of onion rings were getting cold. When the burger finally arrived, the front counter person placed the burger on top of the onion rings, and then returned to her conversation with the cook rather than finally bagging our order so that we could leave the restaurant. So much for our ORDERING TO GO. The cook became belligerent and insisted that we were questioning his abilities. No more Hamburger Depot for us. read more

I hate to call this place A-Hole-The-Wall, but I think most out of town travels would label it that. Local Burger made the way that makes you want to come back for your burg fix every couple of weeks. Nice big buns to hold in all the great meat and fixings. Onion rings also very good, in the top 3 of places to get them. Very hard to find this place and hard to read the small name on the front of the old potable buildings that make up this place. It is in the left side (north side) of a shopping center (not contented to it). As you drive around the left side the small white building in on your left just before you drive out of the back of the shopping center lot. Worth a lunch break stop if you are driving through Jasper. Our waitress was friendly and full of pep and personality, she was so pleasant and attentive that I asked if she was the owner, but she wasn't. This place is much better than their newer location in Lumberton, hands down! Don't pass up this old school Burger (and onion rings) if like a great hamburgers. Enjoy! read more

Hamburger Depot is usually one of my weekly spots to visit. I love their Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Their sweet tea is perfect also and we all know what a sweet tea lover I am! After reading so many positive reviews about this place we decided to give it a try. It was a little off the main road and you have to be looking for it or you'll drive right past like some of the other reviews said but boy oh boy is it ever worth finding! We each had the half pound hamburger and it was delicious and just perfect in every way! They are so juicy you need a handful of napkins to eat one. We also had onion rings based on other reviews and they were the best I've ever had anywhere ever! They are obviously home made and just perfect in every way! Yes it's a hole in the wall kind of a place but the quality of the food makes it just as good as a four star restaurant! read more

So I mentioned today at work that I was in the mood for a cheeseburger. Right away I was asked do you want a regular burger, or a "real" burger? Of course I was curious about the "real" burger. After looking over their menu, I chose a bacon cheeseburger combo with onion rings. When I seen this massive burger I knew I was in for a treat. Two thick and crispy strips of bacon topped this thick and juicy patty that was covered in melted cheese, which sat on top of pickles shredded lettuce and tomatoes. The smell that filled my nostrils was so intoxicating. Bacon beef and cheese mmm. My mouth was watering before my first bite! This was definitely a two handed job. The first bite was not a disappointing one! This was by far one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had in my 36 years of life! The bun was slightly sweet and buttery, the meat was juicy and seasoned just right, the veggies were crisp and fresh. I did not want to put it down once I started! Lets not forget about the onion rings! They were definitely housemade and not frozen! Big thick rings of onion hand battered and fried just long enough to soften but also have texture to accompany the flavor! I will certainly be frequenting The Hamburger Depot! Delicious! I had the classic cheeseburger and onion rings and it did not disappoint. Porky's in Fredericksburg has set the bar at which I judge all onion rings and these were right up there.
