I would definitely recommend this place to purchase a UTV, jet ski, etc. See Jordan in sales; he was great to deal with, and everything he said he would do he did. I will be going back to purchase from him in the near future. I would avoid the service department; they do not listen, give time frames that were never met, and you have to constantly call to get updates. I had a recent purchase of a used motorcycle. Sales staff were very nice. Price was fair. Paperwork was handled well. Unfortunately once sale was completed, they did not follow thru on promises they said they would make on delivery of vehicle (Did not get bike cleaned up prior to pick-up, did not contact the previous owner to get the spare key, day of pickup salesman was out and nobody in the shop knew anything about the check out) Lots of people roaming around behind the counter trying to look busy with no customers. If you buy a vehicle from this shop, put down a deposit and wait for everything promised to be done before you hand over the full check. read more

I like to think of myself as a loyal customer, I have purchased 3 new ATVs from Hammer time. I have had all of them serviced there plus one I already owned. I have purchased over 2,000 dollars of gear and parts for said ATVs. I asked for an estimate for some repairs on one of the ATVs and was informed that I would have to pay a $55.oo estimate charge. When I asked about the charge The service person seamed offended by my question. I explain how loyal a customer I had been and that didn't seem to matter to him. Hammer time is not the cheapest place out there they should pay attention to there loyal customers because they just lost one. Hammertime did have the high quality utility trailer that I wanted and the sales person was very good, but the fees they added to the advertised price of $2649 were outrageous! $90 credit card fee, $299 dealer prep, $175 document and administrative fee made the total pretax actual cost come to $3213! I needed this trailer and had driven a long way so I did pay the highly inflated price. God help you if you are buying a $10,000 motorcycle or snowmobile. And absolutely NO members of the staff were following Illinois law or practicing good citizenship by wearing a mask. I felt very unsafe there. I will never buy from this business again. 2 stars is a compliment. While I will admit they seem to be fairly decent in turning things around and getting better, I still won't give them any of my business due to past issues. Long story short, I believe I was screwed out of $1500 in repairs in the service dept. They did not fix my motorcycle but just argued when I complained. I would never use their service dept again. I will go out of my way to go somewhere else instead. I do not recommend this place to anyone and try to deter anyone from going there. So my son buys a motorcycle from this place and pays using a personal check. They fail to endorse the check and so the bank bounces it as they should. The owner calls my son demanding payment which since he is in the hospital, the only option is paying by credit card and they charge him a $245 fee. When they find out that it was THEIR error and that he is in ICU after a terrible accident on the motorcycle they sold him, they refuse to help cover the fee and insist that it was his bank's fault, not their own. Then they have the audacity to act like they care about him. This place is heartless. read more

This place is an absolute joke of a business. I recently brought my atv down there to be gone through and possibly rebuilt. They proceded to drain all of the fluids and inspect the engine and then put it back together and called me to pick it up. I got my quad home after paying the $1200 bill. I made it roughly 1/2 mile and it seized up solid. The folks down at hammertime never put any oil or fluids back in it. I brought it back the next day where they tried to blame me saying I "must have drained all of the fluids out of it". Needless to say I now drive to Monroe Powersports for all of my service needs where the people actually care and know how to run a business. Never again will I go back to Hammertime and I fully understand why they have horrible reviews. read more

I would never do business with them again. I live three hours away and took off work, got $900 cash, and went out of my way so i could leave the next day to pick up the part they had promised me. Brought an 08 Polaris Switchback in for service, because the snowmobile had not top end power. Received an invoice for a complete engine rebuild and was told I had a leaky crankcase seal and the problem I had with the snowmobile still persisted. Took the sled to another certified Polaris dealership and had the power valves replaced along with a full service on the snowmobile and it was a fraction of the price and I saved a rebuild on an already new engine, also the cranks case seal was not leaking. I would have thought that a certified Polaris technician would look to the easy cheap problems first but thankfully I avoided a costly rebuild and got away with only a $126.97 bill for them to diagnose the problem which was incorrect. read more
