I took my vehicle here for brake service on February 16. After picking it up, the parking brake wasn't working, there was an error light on the dash, and the vehicles safety systems were not functioning. The manager Sammy refused to fix the vehicle or refund the $950 they charged me, leaving me with a vehicle with degraded safety and no parking brake. I had to take it to the dealer to be able to safely drive my vehicle again, costing me another $1200+. read more

I had purchased 4 new tires for my vehicle, and they were under warranty. One of the tires had a a blowout and the employee at Hamms admitted it was a bad tire due to the alignment and rotation of the other tires. He told me they would replace that tire. Before he issued the replacement, he told me it was regular $181, but they would "let" me have it for $145. Are you kidding me? I just told them to load that tire up and I would not be back. Terrible customer experience and felt flat out lied to about the warranty. read more

Recently dropped off my car early this week for diagnostic/inspection around 11:15am..call back at 3:30pm to check status ..gets on hold for I kid you not ..25-30min..called on another line busy. Guy finally comes online, and says oh we're too busy, could have easily called back within the first 2 hours and stated they were too busy or weren't going to able to check it out. I had them remove a trailer hitch and a factory wiring harness for me. They lost some of the hardware. Special designed for the hitch . Cost $55 ro replace . And the cut the wiring harness and it could not be repaired. Then changed me $150 and would not cover any of my other cost read more

Shout out to Hamms! NOT!! It's 110 degrees today and just reminded of the torture it is to drive in the summer. This is the second summer now that I have had to suffer. My husband brought my car here two years ago to get the AC "fixed". I feel like we were taken advantage of and they took our money. We took it back several times and the last time, one of the techs said "You just need tint". We had that done but that did not make any difference. They made us feel dumb like we were just saying the AC does not blow cold air,,for fun. Maybe if I come here and show them the ER bill from a time I got heat exhaustion, they would care and at least apologize that they did not fix the problem. We really trusted Hamms for years until this happened. read more

I am severely disappointed in the techs here. I went in about a year ago to get an oil change on my manual Transmission vehicle. I provided the oil they charged me a lot more then they usually did. They took the filter and cap off my brake/clutch resivor. I never thought I had to inspect my vehicle after a simple oil change. There was no reason to remove the filter and cap to my brake/clutch fluid. Because they left it off my clutch has been burnt out. They were the LAST people to touch my vehicle. I am now having to pay over $2,000 to a different shop to replace my clutch. I have taken extreme care of this vehicle it's almost 5 years old with 51,000 miles. There is no reason for the clutch/brake resivor to be touched. read more

Their quotes are "out the door" AND include a free alignment with a 4 tire purchase. No lowball price and then all the add-ons. They are very honest about the quality of tire when comparing brand name and off brand. They give you options and let you decide. They don't push high dollar tires. Also, they give me tips on how to make my tires last longer. I've been bringing my car to a Hamm's for years. When I lived in Watauga, the Hamm's there was recommended as an honest shop. And, it was!! I moved to Plano and work at DFW Airport so, I now take my cars to this Hamm's. I pass lots of tire shops on my way but, the honesty here is well worth it. read more

I don't like leaving reviews especially if it's going to be a negative one and only have a few times but I had to for my experience here . DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE or your business. I got a state inspection done here. Long story short, Steve was the one to assist me that day. I walked in and from the start his customer service was horrible. When I got in my car after the service, he had caused some damaged to my radio(factory). He pushed the volume knob so hard to mute it that he jammed it. He denied it and even got angry at me. A few other employees from there tried to help me get it fixed but were unable. Heard from the owner once but he never reached back. I was so busy at the time, 2 jobs and a college student and had a few things that happened around that time I was not able to go further. They denied that he did it, of course. But if that was the case why did some of the employees tell me to come back another time when they were less busy and they would try to fix it? Nonetheless it will cost me a few hundred dollars to get it fixed(I own a 2015 Lexus gs350). Worse experience in a long time. Steve was very very rude. And the owner was very unprofessional. Went there Sat July 30th 2022 to get a hub stem replaced on a wheel for a 2012 Hundai Senota Sam said you have to take off the whole hub to replace it it would cost 225.00. Went to a tire shop behind Hamms. The guy said just go get the stem and bolt at Store and he fixed it for 25.00 took him 30 minutes only. read more

Get there within 10 minutes and someone else tells me they wouldn't be able to get to me until tomorrow. Didn't say "sorry, I'll get you first thing". Had a flat late Friday afternoon. Most of the tire shops were about to close. Luckily Hamm's Tire at Lewisville was still open, so I decided to give it a try knowing that air in my tire will last one way only after which car would need towing service. At Hamm's cashier was friendly greeting me with smile. I felt welcome and appreciated at the shop. Despite quite a few customers ahead of me they were able to find time to patch my flat tire while I was waiting so I wouldn't need to get ride back home. Service was fast, professional with friendly and knowledgeable mechanics. With a such great service experience I am glad I stopped at Hamm's Tire for my car tire service need. read more

FILED COMPLAIN WITH BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! At first it was great because the service was fast, BUT THE RIM WAS DAMAGED!!!! Went back to talk to the manager after speaking to him over the phone and being told to go back so they fix the problem. When I went back someone else acting like the manager completely denied that they did the damage!! I have a picture of the rim before I took it there! This place is irresponsible when it comes to the damages they make to your car! I have been these people for car repairs since 1989. They have always been fair, did good repairs at a reasonable price and communicated well with me. If there have been repairs that they could not perform they have always suggested another company for me to take my car too. They have even told me several times that i didn't need work that my dealership told me I needed done and saved me a tremendous amount of money. read more

I had to get my tires here because my mechanic recommended Toyo tires and not many shops carry them. Hamm's offers a free alignment with four tires. Staff was friendly and everything went smoothly until I got back on the 121 to go to Plano. Once I reached 70 mph, my steering wheel started shaking and I noticed that the car pulled to the right. Once I got home, I asked a friend to check it out. He noticed that the tire pressures were way under or over the recommended pressures depending on the tire and not the same between all four tires (and missing valve caps). Steering problems were probably due to incorrect balancing of the tires and misalignment. Really ??!!! I'd think Hamm's would get all this correctly since that is what they do all day. I took it back to the shop and told them about the problems. They rebalanced the tires and I guess the alignment because everything seems fine now. But, I am annoyed they did not do it in the first place and I had to go back and sit around for another 2 hours to fix a problem that should have never occurred in the first place. Meh. read more

If there was a no star rating, this is what they have earned. And I'm sure this rating will be removed as soon as its read from their facebook page. But can you cant tamper with the Better Business Bureau, The Attorney General's Office, Yelp or Denton County Small Claims Court and any other social media I can find. I spoke to "James" and he said Hamm's is not responsible for the damage they do your vehicle. Funny, I don't remember signing a waiver releasing them from responsibility if something like this happens. Here's a heads up for anyone who uses Hamm's Tire for minor auto repair. I took my truck in on 11/30/15 for a repair that they quoted a price of $250.00. I was told it was a common problem and they had done many in the past. A few hours later I got a call and I was told they had broke a bolt and couldn't get it out. They made a recommendation and stated it had to be towed. I was told this second shop had a wrecker and they would tow it to their location. Since I'm new to Texas, I went with the recommendation thinking I would save some money. Later in the afternoon I was contacted by the second shop. To repair Hamm's screw up it was going to cost me an additional $275.00, plus $50.00 for the tow. Since I can't afford to have it towed all over town for estimates, I told them to fix it. Any decent repair shop would fix it no matter the cost and only billed me the quoted price. When I'm done with this they will have lost enough money to have paid for their screw up many times over. If you really look at, It seams I paid Hamm's to break something else on my truck. If I wanted something else broke, I would have done it myself for free. read more

I honestly don't think this place deserves that bad of reviews. The prices here are great for people looking to get the job done without getting into other messes and wasting a money. I have been here twice and what I have noticed was that they would check your car but go tell you when you did not need to repair something. Other places, specially the dealership, loves to bring up all these little things here and there that ends up costing $1500 when you only came for an alignment. This place is honestly great for providing the service without robbing you blind, like me who has the slightest clue when dealing with cars. read more

Here's the deal about Hamm's...they are a high volume shop. They have excellent prices but the service is, I mean, about what you pay for. The thing that I like about Hamm's and the reason I bring my car here all the time (I have a Ford with over 200,000 miles on it so I'm kind of a regular) is because they NEVER have once tried to sell me something that I didn't ask for.
