My car was taken to AAMCO for a leaking transmission and after getting it back, dashboard lights…read morestarting turning on for unrelated issues. After doing some additional repairs the car was returned, however dashboard lights reappeared and they were unable to resolve it after multiple attempts. Shortly after while driving the steering assembly on the car completely fell apart requiring a flatbed tow, had this happened at higher speed on a highway this could have resulted in a fatality. The certified dealership mechanics who examined the car afterwards found that AAMCO failed to tighten the bolts to spec and all of the cotter safety pins were missing allowing the steering system to fail. Extensive damage was done to the underside of the car and it is currently not usable. After seeing the extensive damage, my dealership will not recommend AAMCO Ballwin to any of their customers in the future.

Oil leakage around filter. I replaced the filter. Oil drain plug over tightened and stripped. Visit 2 - To fix drain plug and oil change. They put in the wrong oil !!! I expressly asked them if they had 0W20 and was told YES. They put in 5W30. I now have to take my car to another shop to get a simple oil change done right.

2018-06 / June I…read moredrive a 2005 Chrysler that is now 13 years old. The odometer just turned over 100,000 miles... thanks to a short drive to the office the miles have accumulated slowly. The car's not fancy but is paid off and drives well... thanks to JB Auto. It's much better thanks to some recent repairs. They replaced the oil pan gasket, and now the small leak is gone from the garage floor (Goo Gone had cleaned the concrete just fine; I just wanted the leak to stop). That provided a side benefit that, removing the pan enabled all the oil and the grit and grime from the 100,000 miles to also leave the engine. Then we confirmed two of the three engine mounts were worn down, so JB replaced them, too. The car now runs and sounds smoooothe.... so nice. Thank you, JB Auto, for keeping the car running so well! 2017: Our car required no repairs for eight years, but a few these past couple years. After the last repair we explored trading-in for a new car. I wanted some more confidence in our decision. I knew J&B from driving past it, next to Ballwin City Hall, on a regular basis, but just hadn't called them until now. I explained that we just needed to make a "should we keep it or trade it in" decision. Grant helped get us scheduled quickly. Their review was a good one, thorough and competent. It happened to also provide good news... the car is incredibly solid now, and may just need a couple things as it approaches the 100,000 mile mark. That was comforting overall, and on the pocketbook. I drive a 2010 acura MDX which I wanted them to install license plate lights and fog lights on…read more After a give me a price of one hours labor which I had no problem paying they then brought me back saying that they would have to 1 take off the entire front bumper and to that they couldn't get to the ones in the back behind the license plate. They basically just did not want to do the work even though I was willing to pay the price and then outright lied to me about how it had to be done. I went to Dobbs and watched the guy install both sets of rights in 30 minutes. I should have known better when my mom brought her 7 series of here and they wrote her seat controls and just told her these things happen. If they didn't want the work they should have been upfront and not gave me the run around
