Clean, nice and friendly people. Was decorated nicely for Halloween and the breakfast was good too!

I wouldn't stay here again even if you paid me! Aside from the younger girl working the night…read moreshift, the staff was incredibly rude and seemed to have little to no customer service skills. When I first arrived, my room smelled terrible, like rotting food. I went to the front desk to let them know, and the woman there couldn't have seemed less concerned. I was moved to another room, but it smelled just as bad. I tried to deal with it, but eventually had to ask to be switched again. The third room didn't have the same odor, but instead smelled like it had been doused in cheap air freshener to cover something up. Not exactly a great start. At that point I considered finding another hotel, but it was late and the room itself at least appeared clean. Unfortunately, the noise situation was just as bad. If you plan on sleeping past 6 am, don't count on it. Unless you're on the top floor, you can hear every footstep from the room above you. The floors seem to have virtually no soundproofing, and I heard the guests above me constantly throughout my stay. The location is great, I'll give it that. But honestly, that's the only positive thing I can say about this place. The customer service is awful, the staff is rude, the rooms smell bad, and the lack of soundproofing makes it nearly impossible to relax. Save yourself the headache and stay anywhere else.

Staff was AMAZING!! I called to see if they had a room available for an early check-in in and they…read moresaid sure come on (2pm). They were super friendly and helpful. The bed was a little too soft for our liking and you could hear the people above you walking around making it hard to sleep. Other than those two complaints we enjoyed the room. The balcony was nice when people weren't smoking. The breakfast was nice with multiple options for everyone. Breakfast options included eggs, omelet, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, Pop-Tarts, fruit, yogurt, pastries, sausage, coffee, juice, and there was plenty of seating.

There are not a lot of places to stay on Mohican Island. But one place that you should definitely…read morescope out is the island in. It has been around for many years. It did change ownership's this year, I met Mike the farmer owner and he was very gracious And I'm sure he ran a great in. The current owners are doing a magnificent job as well. I unfortunately do not know the name of the woman who works the front desk. I am sorry for that because I would like to give her a big shout out. She was most gracious and very helpful every time I had a question. We got two rooms. My friend stayed in room 18 which has its own bath and a queen size bed. It was lovely and it was on a corner so she had two windows. I stayed in room 13 it had two twin beds and a sink in the room but the shower and toilet were across the hall. I've stated other places where you have to share a bathroom and this end was different in that the Bathrooms were assigned and only two guest rooms shared each bathroom. My bathroom was never occupied. I'm not sure anybody was in the room that shared my bathroom but if they were, I never saw them. As you do have to walk across the hall to get to your shared bathroom, guest robes were provided. The bed was comfy. You could open the window and enjoy the island breeze. The room, both my guestroom and the bathroom were very clean. One thing that was surprising given the age of the building and that the hotel was pretty full was that it was quiet. I've never heard anyone outside my room or really any noise at all. There are several small rooms off the lobby, where you can sit and read or just enjoy an intimate conversation. All the furniture looked to be in good shape. Nothing was shabby or worn out. There is a porch out in front of the Inn that overlooks the water. It has rocking chairs on the porch and Adirondack chairs out in the yard. It is lovely. Unfortunately it was a rainy day. The first day we were there, but that didn't deter us from exploring the island. The hotel has a refrigerator where you can place your own bottle of wine or anything you need to put in there. But it is a bit tight so don't expect that you're going to put a lot of food in there. The Inn has a restaurant and I'm going to review that separately. Breakfast was included. I would definitely stay here again if overnighting on Mohegan Island..

We wanted to just love this place, but there were enough little problems to only rate it 3 stars…read more Parking is a HUGE problem. There are a limited amount of spaces in front with zero room to maneuver your car to fit in a space. There is a public lot right next door for a fee and hopefully you'll get a space. We were in the Waterfront King Suite. The room was lovely and had a great view!! However, getting hot water was inconsistent. We had noisy neighbors who we could hear using the hairdryer at 6:42am, and shouting down the hall and slamming their door at 7:30am. At 10:45pm there were sounds like chairs being dragged over hardwood for about 30 minutes. They do give you an opportunity to order breakfast that is delivered to your room and a time you specify. However, both days I had rancid milk for my coffee. I wrote a note to the staff after the first morning, and they served spoiled milk to me again on the second morning!! The food was also vastly under seasoned. I ordered the quinoa bowl both days and got two totally different dishes. And, my wife's potatoes were completely burnt. So for the money we spent on the room, I cannot recommend this place due to parking, noise, and food quality.

This hotel did not live up to its online reputation. Maybe they have staffing challenges in this…read morepart of the world...but who doesn't? Maybe pay more to folks. First off, the front desk would go 15-30 minutes without being staffed. This made it particularly difficult when we needed something - I sat across from the desk for 15 minutes at one point - but that's not enough to warrant a negative review. In fact, I waited this morning to convey this message in person, but the only people in the lobby were customers waiting for help. What does warrant a review is our breakfast foul up. This may sound like a minor issue, however in the world of customer service it absolutely is not. Here's what happened: the hotel provides breakfast in the room. We had two rooms. My daughter mistakenly put my room number on her breakfast card, so they delivered both breakfasts to my room. Only they didn't deliver both COMPLETE breakfasts - they only delivered a portion of the breakfasts. When we inquired about the mixup, we were shown our cards - no apology, only a hint of "here's where the fault lies, and it's with you." However, no one bothered to ask us before delivering an incomplete breakfast as to whether this was actually what we wanted (and bear in mind, this is not a big hotel). After that, there were a series of further mixups before staff actually sorted things out and got complete breakfasts to our rooms. I don't have a big problem with the mixup. I do have a problem with the reaction and the confused resolution. However, the blame here is not on the staff: it's on ownership. It's very clear that at critical points of the day, the hotel has a real staffing issue. It's also clear that ownership hasn't adequately trained staff on "Customer Service 101." The poor worker was clearly frazzled and could use some training and some help. As a result, this hotel did not earn the premium it charges.

Granted you need to hope for good weather, but my cousin was a very lucky lady in late September. I liked how big the property was - plenty of room for people to spread out, enjoy their food, or be on the dance floor. The sunset over the water was epic! We even saw bald eagles flying & fishing off shore. This location is so picturesque (heck even the bathroom was cute for selfies). The bride and her parents were blown away by the overnight accommodations too! I saw pics with the view of the infinity pool. Staff was wonderful, everything was spotless clean, and best of all the crowd & bride and groom had an awesome time!

This place is a joke. I literally hate it. I would give it 0 stars if I could…read more We paid a lot of money to stay here and they tell us while checking in that we're staying in the "noisy room" where the kitchen is above our room so there's going to be stomping all over our room from above. Early in the damn morning. Starting at 6am. They're not even trying to sugar coat it. They legit said it's called the noisy room. They said they sent a confirmation letter stating this would be the case but we looked and double checked and no email was sent. They didn't even call us to get a confirmation as we never confirmed and it shows on their computer system that they don't have a confirmation from us. A phone call would've been freaking nice at least we could've looked for another place to stay. We are supposed to stay for 4 nights in this geriatric hotel. Their solution is for us to move around to different rooms 3 times during our stay and still have to stay 2 nights in the "noisy room". Imagine paying close to $700/night and staying in the "noisy room" as they call it and not being able to sleep as late as you want to as you have to get out of the 1st room they put you in. Wake early in the morning again, and pack your stuff up AGAIN and move it into the noisy room for 2 nights, then do it all over AGAIN for night 4. So at no time during your vacation can you relax and sleep in or comfortably settle in your room. Or even be able to sleep with all the noise. Moving around to different rooms 3 freaking times during a 4 day stay!!!! . This is supposed to be a luxury stay/hotel. Not musical hotel rooms. This is ridiculous. Wtf. I am beyond livid. And they don't even have a manager on site until tomorrow. No one is running the place. Just a front desk clerk. No one to help with luggage or if you have any issues (like the one we're having now). Literally one person that's manning the desk/hotel. They've totally screwed us and we have no one to talk to to even try to fix this. Just the hotel front desk clerk. Had we known we wouldn't have ever booked this place and now we have no other place booked plus there's no refunds or cancellations. It's absolutely mind blowing they think this is acceptable. Maybe if we were WHITE, they would be more forthcoming on providing us a better solution. If you're dumb enough to book here make sure you're ok with them totally ruining your vacation/stay and charging you a premium for it. Also, I think the minimum age of the occupants here is like 80. Everyone looks like an extra from the movie "Cocoon". Oh their solution was to give us a crappy discount and free breakfast and move us around 3 times. Wow, that's total BS. F your rooms, discount and your breakfast. I hope they all choke on it. As far as the rooms go, they're not very nice. Not what I would call luxury by any standard. It's decorated like an old lady's house. Everything looks old even though they said they just remodeled it. Was their vision board for the remodel based off someone's grandmas house from the 90s. Because that's what it looks like. It's the summer and their AC is super weak so I'm dying of heat in this muggy weather. As I said there's only 1 person running the place so if you have any issues then you're screwed. Also the mini fridge doesn't work. Also if you smoke then forget about it. You can't smoke on the entire property. You have to walk far, way up this hill away from everything and everyone. By the time I'm up the hill I'm too out of breath to smoke. They make you sign a contract saying you won't smoke. Wtf. Screw you. I do what I want. I will try to smoke anywhere but that hill out of spite. God, I hate this place. So be forewarned. Don't make me say I told you so.
