This Hampton Inn & Suites is very nice for the price. We were only in town one day and one night. This place was perfect for us. The staff is great for check in and check out. They keep the rooms super clean and can tell you great places to eat nearby. They have a lovely morning breakfast. It is right near Willamette University and Salem Hospital which is super convenient for those needing to be close by those locations. They have a nice fitness center and an indoor pool which I loved. I love their a 24-hour business center and most places no longer have complimentary newspapers in the lobby, this one does and it was great. They also have nice vending machines and a laundry. It is perfect for business. And you will sleep like a baby, the beds are so comfortable. read more

Suite Caroline Good times never seem so good... This place has really exceeded my expectations. The service has been excellent, from the welcome bag for being a Hilton Honors Member, to the daily snack included in your room, to the fresh cookies at the front desk in the afternoons. The staff is all very friendly and helpful if you need something. Tip: use the Hilton Honors app and get a digital key right in your phone. That way you don't look thru your wallet or purse for the physical key and you can unlock all the doors necessary right from your phone. The rooms are spacious, with a microwave, Keurig and mini fridge also stocked with beverages. You can stream Netflix on this large LG tv which is nice. The alarm/speaker has USB plugs and also a wireless charger on top. The rooms are very clean with daily service if you wish, nothing better than coming back to a clean room. Take advantage of the pool, spa and gym. The pool is enclosed and heated and great to relax after work or a long day. I've been using the gym at hotels and I like that they have a Peloton as well as other machines and weights. Breakfast is daily starting at 6. But if you have to get to work early like me, they have this great On The Run Breakfast Bag available during the week. I hope every other Hilton property follows your hospitality lead. After submitting feedback, the hotel management reached out via email the same evening and resolved the issue by adjusting the charges for our stay. They mentioned the issue was addressed in the email and heat was back on however I got no update from the front desk of the same. Nonetheless, I did appreciate the quick follow-up and the effort to make things right. Original review Planned for a staycation in this hotel, called before I booked a room asking if the pool was open. I was told that it was and was given pool hours. Booked our stay same day, and found out after the fact that though the "pool was open" the heating is down and they dont know when it will go back up. So what therefore was the point of booking a stay. Also, tried calling the front desk from hotel phone and it was busy for at least ten minutes so had to chat through the app to reach someone. Zero stars for wasting money on a staycation when i did my due diligence and called before booking to make sure. I would not recommend this hotel. Stayed at hampton inn before, but this place left a sour taste in our mouths. Would not book again. read more

This particular Hampton Inn seems to have been recently built or recently renovated - either way, our stay here was comfortable! The rooms smelled so clean and fresh, the beds were the right amount of firmness, there were plenty of pillows, and everything seemed to be modern-like and well-maintained. Terrible service. My kids got their window busted out of their car and many things stolen out of it. Multiple cars got broken into. The front desk people said they knew about it, refused to inform any of the patrons or report it to the police. They also do not have cameras, which is unfortunate considering The town that it is located in. Worst place ever. read more

Multiple cars were broken into while we stayed here, ours included. Lindsey Gonzalez and Jennifer Boyden were working in the office and were completely aware of what happened but never notified anyone. They don't have camera either apparently which feels very sketchy to me. They were rude and inconsiderate and condescending as hell. Repeatedly said it was our fault and told us there was nothing anyone could do. I will NEVER stay here nor recommend staying here. read more

We've stayed here a couple times over the last few years. It's easy to access from I-5, down the street from a Costco (w gas station) and has an indoor heated salt water pool w whirlpool spa. As expected the rooms are always clean and well stocked. The wifie appreciates the extra little things she can always find in the bathrooms at Hampton Inns: q-tips, cotton balls, makeup remover wipes and neutrogena soaps/shampoos. Kids are always diggin the swimming pool and breakfast in the morning. Waffle station, donuts, bagels, yogurt... the list goes on. Seems like everyone can find something they will enjoy which makes for easier traveling. When we arrived this evening they even had some sandwiches out, which I don't recall seeing at other Hampton's. We didn't try any as we were heading out for dinner at Gilgamesh anyways. Finally, the overall cost for the amenities and quality of the room and consistent service has kept us loyal Hilton customers. Rooms have always been very clean, checkin a breeze and a nice little personalized welcome card are all the touches that make for an enjoyable night away from home. read more

This is one of the nicer Hampton Inn & Suites I have been to. They are especially on it with customer service- a call the day before and a handwritten note greeting us when we arrived. The location is good- we had no problem getting a car to a nearby concert on a weeknight. It's just shortly outside downtown Salem. The rooms are clean and the location is obviously well maintained. They offer the typical amenities- daily breakfast as well as some weekday evening food- check for offerings/availability. I would be glad to stay here again if I had the need, I hear they have a saltwater pool. read more

I was delighted with this Hampton Inn. It was exactly what we needed and where we needed it. It was clean, the staff were beyond friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable. I also felt like they were taking appropriate health precautions with masks and cleaning. We were warmly greeted by the front desk manager (I wish I could remember his name, but the afternoon of Dec 22). He offered us complimentary bottled water and a snack and let us know about all the amenities. I had confirmed ahead of time that there was a fridge and a microwave. The fridge wasn't full-sized but was a well-laid out medium-sized one. The microwave was on the smaller side but powerful enough to reheat the pot roast, mashed potatoes, and peas that we brought with us pretty quickly. We were thrilled that they were able to give us 2 rooms with a connecting door. Our daughter stayed next door and we were able to celebrate "Christmas in the doorway". We hung our Advent calendar - a tree with 25 ornaments - between the doors and put our presents there. We kept the windows open and brought fans to get good circulation, though we still wore masks except when we were eating. The wifi was good enough that we were able to stream How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The superstar for me was Cheryl at the breakfast bar. My husband also remarked on the great service Cheryl gave when he got some bacon and oatmeal. I had inquired what breakfast options there are, because we were doing Christmas early, so I was thrilled when they said there were waffles and either bacon or sausage; that saved me the hassle of bringing bacon to reheat and my waffle iron and batter. Unfortunately, the people I spoke with didn't realize that waffles aren't every day, due to COVID. Cheryl went above and beyond to get the waffle iron heated up and borrowed some batter from Thursday morning. Our "Christmas" (observed) waffles were delicious. My daughter really loved the pomegranate smoothie, too. We needed something halfway between our daughter in Ashland and ourselves in Seattle, so Salem it was. The reason I picked a Hilton property is because I love their app. I actually didn't need to talk to the people at the front desk for anything - the app has a way to chat with the front desk, even few days before check-in. The app lets me check in and get a digital room key on my phone. I love that! We would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites again! read more

We came out to Salem for a (socially distanced, outdoor, walk-by in a park) wedding this past month, and we needed a place to crash for the long weekend. We're big fans of bed and breakfasts and luxury hotels, but Salem didn't have many of those sort of locations near the wedding site. I saw great reviews on Yelp for this Hampton Inn, however, and decided to book. I'm incredibly impressed by the staff's attention to detail, safety precautions during the pandemic, and overall the quality of this hotel. We felt special from the choice of snacks at check-in (love the Diamond perks!) to the nightly stream of chocolate chip cookies to the ability to schedule housekeeping - this is much different than many hotels are providing at this time, and it gives you the ability to schedule housekeeping for the afternoon so it'll be several hours after you leave and before you come back (safer for both your family and the housekeepers). Our room was SPOTLESS. From the bathtubs to the beds, this hotel is being maintained incredibly well. The breakfast area is also well kept, with hand sanitizer, masks, and other cleaning products available and being used constantly. Plexiglass paneling protects the staff at some locations, which I really appreciate as well! Additionally, they've figured out a way to continue to provide free breakfast without creating a high risk buffet type meal. If you're looking for a clean, safe place to crash with friendly staff and a very reasonable rate, stop looking and just book. read more

"Thanks for staying at the Hampton. We know you have choices and we appreciate your business." That is how the manager at the Hampton Inn & Suites - Salem concluded our very friendly, very efficient check in for two couples this week. How often do you hear THAT at a chain hotel? Which leads me to the first thing to like about this Hampton Inn & Suites. Service was top notch, from check in to check out and every encounter along the way. First class. All is not perfect here, but in sum there is more to like than not. Pros and Cons follow, the pros are a longer list. But it was completely the top notch service that put this over the top from 3 to 4 stars in rating. If some of the cheap infrastructure problems could be addressed (see cons) this could be a five star property in the pantheon of Hamptons. Because of the service quality, this will be our first choice for lodging the next time we're in Salem. PROs: 1. Warm and friendly service. I know I said that. It bears saying again. 2. Convenient location, minutes to downtown Salem and also a short hop to local wineries and farms. 3. NEW facility, only 60 days old this week, means little wear and tear on rooms and public spaces. 3. Quiet at night if you get the right room. 4. Comfy beds, pillows and furniture. 5. Bathrooms (at least ours) were spacious with grab bar in shower which we appreciate for safety. 6. Free wifi. 7. Nice salt water pool. 8 Spacious exercise room with six pieces of cardio equipment and free weights. 9. Large and bright gathering / breakfast room with standard height tables (woohoo!) in addition to high perch seating. 10. Better breakfast than most in the class for healthier food options. 11. Accessibility from parking through door and all public spaces was very good. 12. Ample parking in large, well lit lot. CONs: 1. It appears the owner cut every possible corner on the quality of the construction materials. As example, carpet in our room was fraying at the seams in spite of this being less than 2 months old. 2. Bathtub had stains on the bottom (and other rooms do too) that was apparently the result of a construction error. The people traveling with us reported the handle nearly falling off their shower. Shower heads were not good quality. 3. Refrigerators are currently not offered as standard amenity in rooms, only in suites. However, fridges are available at no charge on request as supply allows. We requested one after check in and it was delivered within minutes (more of that great service.) The manager told us that they had received customer feedback that it is important to have refrigerators in rooms and they are in the process of purchasing them to have in all rooms eventually. In the meantime, good to know in advance that this is not yet a standard amenity if you need one. ROOM TIPS: 1. Some rooms are quite spacious (our King room 417 was one of those examples.) Other rooms, as in the double queen 416 our companions had, are very narrow. Recommendation, choose wisely from the room floor plan when you check in to be sure you don't end up in one of the narrow rooms. Also, if the width of the double queen is standard for that room class, consider upgrading to a double queen suite for more space. 2. Rooms on back side (odd numbers) face a vacant field and seem quieter than on front (even numbers) that face parking lot. read more

I could write a super long review of all the great things I experienced with this place, but I'll just list it instead: +indoor pool +work out/weight room -- towels, water, disposable ear buds provided, tv +conference room +generous breakfast until 10am +various coffee offered at coffee station -- and this station is always clean! +fresh fruits offered in a huge bowl in the hangout area with newspapers and tv +spacious, well-maintained rooms +SUPER CLEAN -- I didn't see any 'scary' hairs on bed sheets, towels or on the bathroom floor +lots of lighting in the room +big comfortable bed +QUIET +Clinique complimentary toiletries -- they smell so good +hair dryer +good WiFi It was a little funny that there was a post-it left on our bed that said, "we wash our duvets and all bedding before your arrival." That's pretty nice because other places don't. Another cool feature is that you hold up the key to the keypad sensor and the green light turns on for you to open the door. No swiping. We were very lucky to stay at this hotel because my husband was here to do a interview with Garmin. Garmin is literally 2 minutes away from this hotel. Excellent location -- down the street is a Costco (and you can gas your car up there too), close to places to eat and a Walmart. I think it's about 10 to 15 minutes to downtown Salem too. Not bad! I didn't feel unsafe in this area as well. Can't recommend this place enough. I'd love to come back and stay here if we're ever visiting Salem again. read more

Easy to find, in a nice quiet location, easy to get around to other parts of the town for meals. Customer service was nice and fast, easy check-in and out. Breakfast was pretty good and while they were having a problem with the water in the town, they provided plenty of bottled water and still had some good options for breakfast. read more

This will be my go to when I'm back in Salem. The service just seemed to be a couple notches above other Hamptons I have stayed at. I also don't know if this is happening at every Hampton, but the breakfast options seem to have been stepped up as well. Okay, so if you're not a Hilton Member Honors yet, sign up to be one. My girlfriend and I were staying here for thanksgiving and a funeral. Accommodations were amazing, we came in a bit early since our flight came from Hawaii and we were wiped out from the jet lag and the drive from Portland. The lady checked us both in, she gave us a hand written card (I'm old fashioned so I appreciate these), and also notified us that they were doing a complimentary lasagna dinner that evening, a breakfast every morning, and sandwiches for Thanksgiving. How amazing! The room was great no complaints! The walls are pretty thin so you could hear people snoring or talking, not a big issue. The windows were shut and it helped muffle the noise from the I5. We had a fridge and a microwave, also known as life savers. read more

Stayed here before. It's on the way out to town but we like being near the sea lions even if they are noisy at all hours of the day. Paid $300 a night for a double Queen suite w balcony. First night no one on top so we slept fine, although room a bit warm even at 65 degrees. Next night a nightmare. Family with four kids upstairs way past 10 am, walking as if they were at home without any consideration that they were in a hotel. Hotel not ready for our check in at 3 pm so we had to walk around before allowed in 40 min later. Breakfast is fine but nothing out of the ordinary. Wish the hotel was more eco friendly, like shampoo dispensers on the wall of the bathroom to avoid single serving plastic waste. Pool was fine but it would be nice if hotels considered putting those bathing suit dryers that spin to dry the suits when one goes to a club swimming pool. Room was clean and view gorgeous. So glad I found this place. I have family in Salem, and frequent visits mean frequent overnight stays (my relative here has a small house). Hampton looks to be the best of the bunch, out of the places I've stayed so far. It's a bit out of the way. Market is the main exit into downtown Salem, and this place is about a mile south of there. That's not even slightly a big deal, but if it's your first time in town, you drive by seemingly every other motel in the area, then out through some undeveloped land, and you might wonder if your GPS is pranking you. It's not. They have a big facility with a big parking lot, and you can tell from the landscaping and exterior that they're taking good care of it. Your confidence goes up as soon as you drive up. It's modest, though, which I like. No fountains or other silly adornments to drive up your cost. Inside, there's a practical little desk, a clean little lobby, and signs pointing you to meeting rooms and the pool and mini-gym. Pretty cool that they have this stuff, but it's not opulent. Best of both worlds in that sense. The AC was flowing with power for sure--cool and comfortable even on a hot muggy day outside. The curtains here are plenty dark, even if you want to sleep past sunrise. The staff are super friendly, and checkin goes quickly (not every place gets this right, but they nail it). The rooms are clean and set up just right. Comfortable bed, clean linens, plenty of pillows, decent-sized closet with removable hangers, modest TV, little desk. The basics are here, and straightforward. It's organized and not overdone. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. No tub--full-sized shower stall instead. Good water pressure, quick temperature changes, hot water is truly hot. Fluffy towels, plenty of soap and gel and shampoo and whatnot. They just get all the details dialed in exactly the way they should. Evidently there's another Hampton in Salem, at least one other. That one has been a bit more uneven than this one, but this one is really doing it right. It's a bit more expensive than the other motels along I-5, but that's alright. It's worth it. When: June 11th to 15th, (2) Rooms #408 & #410 We were visiting Oregon because of our daughters graduation from Oregon State University...chose this Hampton Inn & Suites location because the nearby Residence Inn (which we stayed on previous visits) was on the "high side" for room rates. This was our first stay at any Hampton Inn location... Pros: * Modern Rooms with all the amenities * Attention to Detail * Friendly Helpful Staff from Front Desk to Manager to Housekeeping * Very generous complimentary breakfast * Easy access to I-5, 1/4 mile to Costco, 10 minute drive to Downtown Salem Cons: * Parking (this is nitpicking already...) if the hotel is full and you come back late from dining or shopping, you may have to park on the other side of the building or in the adjacent insurance or bank parking lot... There is a reason this hotel property is the #1 rated property in Salem from Trip Advisor. They pay attention to the minor details and is genuine in how they provide first class customer service...bottom line is, they really do care and it shows. We definitely have found a new place to stay when visiting the Willamette Valley area and will gladly recommend the Hampton Inn & Suites to anyone who inquirers... read more

We were very happy to have stayed here. We received a call the morning of to confirm our arrival and to let us know of their complimentary Taco Tuesday between 5:00 and 7:00. We happen to arrive during the complimentary meal and the set up was very nicely set up with plenty to eat and drink. Coffee, tea, lemonade and sodas were available along with several toppings for the tacos. The rooms were super clean with all toiletries and extra towels. Besides the coffee maker, the room had a microwave and a small fridge. For the complimentary breakfast they had yogurts, muffins, sausage, scramble and more. Nice place. read more

I'm a Diamond Hilton member for many years and I've been to a lot of Hampton Inn locations. Of all of them, this one ranks near the very top. The hotel is in great condition and the pool, hot tub and gym are all well maintained. The service up front was friendly and the housekeeping kept everything clean and the amenities filled. The breakfast was always hot, fresh and kept filled with food and they also provided dinners at no charge on Tuesday to Thursday. How awesome! Definitely will stay here again. Enjoy! read more
