    Headboard

Broken towel rod. Crushed downspouts. The one available outlet couldn't hold a plug in place. Headboard shredded. Shower stall floor shredded. WiFi slower than using cell phone data.

This motel many years ago was great. Not any more.

Not a great experience. Not as good as the hotel used to be years ago. Liked · The girl we worked with was fantastic, always hustling for her visitors. She tried to make us happy when moving our room. She was probably the redeeming grace for this stay. Basically the carpets / hall were clean, as well. TV was easy to use and had an acceptable amount of channels to choose from. The waffle maker was nice, but every waffle stuck to the iron, due to no grease/spray being available to use. Disliked · 1st room given to us was not cleaned! messy, slept in bed, full trash cans. Our room was not even on the schedule to be cleaned that day, supposedly due to a new system. We were told she was trying to give us a discount due to this initial problem, but was unable to because we prepaid the room thru a 3rd party site. ?? Why should this be a problem? The 2nd room had lots of issues. In a handicap accessible room, the frig was so low to the floor it was almost impossible to reach anything in there. The frig door had no bars to hold the food/drinks on them. The food was constantly falling out every time we opened the door. The frig froze our apples, eggs, cucumber slices and waters Only 1 chair in the room for 2 of us to sit on. The toilet paper holder had no roller so we had to balance the roll on the grab handle. The area behind the toilet was not cleaned. The shower tiles were mildewed. The shower curtain was disgustingly full of mildew across the bottom. one reason for this is that the curtain rod was set a bit too low, allowing the curtain to fold on itself on the bottom of the shower, staying wet. Although the shower curtain was sufficient to do its job, it really was a cheap one. Cheap holders as well. There was NO WHERE to place a bar of soap, bottle of shampoo or gel, etc. We had to balance these items on the hand rail. The shower holder would not stay up and kept sliding down, making it hard to shower without holding the shower head. The HOT/COLD in that room has been INSTALLED BACKWARDS!! Hot means cold, Cold means hot! Silly! The toilet was not correctly seated or needs to be supported because it made a noise every time we stood up. The shelf with the sink didnt have sufficient room for our toiletries. Our room was NEVER cleaned once we got there, and no supplies were offered. I had to go looking for toilet paper after the 2nd day. The breakfast is basically bread and coffee/juice. I.e. bagels, waffles, sliced bread and cereal. That got tedious after 2 days. Only 2 types of cereal were offered...honey nut cheerios type, and a raisin bran. The only fruit available were apples, and some bananas. Bananas were very scarce. The walls were SUPER THIN. We heard everything all night, every night. The pool was closed even though the temp was over 80 outside. Very disappointing. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what we received! The posters in the lobby say "An overnight stop is a vacation at a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge". This was a long ago notion.. These hotels don't live up to this any more....sadly

If I could give this location negative stars I would to warn the next family booking not to book at this location. Stained sheets, there was what looked like blood a flem on the walls. There was Crumbs and dirt throughout the whole hotel room. One of the previous hotel stayers wrote in the bible that was in the room that there were bed bugs. The room wreaked of stale cigarettes although it was supposed to be a non smoking room. The carpet was worn and coming up in multiple places. Very disappointing after an eight hour drive to arrive to something like that.

Mind you, this is not a large bag, yet it easily covers the entirety of the toilet. It's about two feet high too so if you're tall...

Their breakfast bar was typical but I was discouraged that the milk was not kept on ice as I arrived at about 9am and I know the dining area was open since 6.

Desk was great, lots of room with a large additional rolling table for more space if needed. (I did move a lamp to the desk for more light) Mattress/pillows-5-Very comfortable bed, could have used a firm pillow to match the medium and soft ones; overall a great sleeping experience. Bathroom was large and the water was super hot. Elevator speed/availability-3-There are two elevators and only one was working, and it seemed to get stuck on floors occasionally. The good news is the stairs are right there and easy access. Gym/pool-5-I didn't use the pool(although many people were) but the gym was very good. Staff-5-Front desk folks were really nice and helpful. No known benefit if you are a Diamond member which surprised me, I was told that because there is no on-site restaurant there were no a diamond perks...not sure what that means. Price-5- Very good pricing. Overall-5- I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area. Shout out-Raven at the front desk, really nice, hospitable, and answered all of my questions with a smile.

We selected this property because of its overall location which was not only convenient to family and friends but also extremely convenient for hopping on I-5. We checked in around 3 PM in order to get settled in our room before meeting family for dinner. As always, we appreciate the size and layout of the Home2Suites line of Hilton properties. We appreciate the kitchenette and apartment size refrigerator/freezer, along with ample counter space including two sinks, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, and a place to easily set up your laptop if needed. The entire flow of the room works really well for us. The studio suites are large enough to accommodate more than two people, but we've also enjoyed staying in the one bedroom suite which offers even more room and is similar to a small apartment. We learned they opened in February of 2021 and were busy from the start. We were told they initially housed many families that first year who were displaced from their homes because of Oregon wildfires in the area. In addition to being very convenient to I-5, it is also extremely convenient to Highway 22 which runs east and west through the area. As common in Home2Suites properties there is a nice size gym, laundry facility, a better than average hotel breakfast served daily, and this particular property has a indoor pool and hot tub, which makes it nice since it is open year round. There is also a patio area which offers outdoor seating and barbecue grills. Also, every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. But a special shout out to Terrence, who was extremely helpful in assisting my wife with her early morning laundry routine. Our only negative experience was they do not appear to have enough luggage carts for the property. We struggled upon check in and check out to locate a luggage cart, which makes it much easier for us to transport our cooler, which is not on wheels, and of course, helpful with transporting additional luggage.

I was checked in quickly by Scott, given a rundown of how things operate such as breakfast, where the elevators are at, the onsite restaurant operating hours, and parking info. Upon entering my room, I found it to be clean and cool. The room also has a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave. The hallways where the rooms are at are kept warmer at about 80 degrees. That is my one complaint. During my stay, it was hot outside and coming i to the hotel, it was cool, but going through the hallways to my room was hot. Breakfast is free and actually good! I couldn't wait for the breakfast because I liked it and I'm not usually a breakfast foods person. The hotel has an exercise room, pool, and hot tub open from 5:30am - 10pm. Many times I visited, the hot tub and pool were empty, leaving me to have a quiet, peaceful soak. I'm early to rise and Anjelica was also wonderful. I needed more coffee at 5am and she was at my service. She didn't come off as if I was bothering her. Offered me different types of coffee and asked me which condiments I needed. That's when I found out that there was also coffee and creamer in the lobby. Anjelica gave me a bag to carry all of my items upstairs. The hotel lobby store has items priced about average for a hotel, maybe slightly cheaper. One thing that caught my eye was the small bottles of distilled cpap water. The bottles were only $3. I've never seen that anywhere while traveling. Parking is free and easy to get to. The hotel is decorated beautifully. I throughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel restaurant is good and I left a review for them as well as the convention center. The value for the prices paid is really good! I will definitely stay here again, when I'm in Salem.

We drove two cars because of travel logistics and assumed we'd get charged to park at least one, if not both; nope, she said it was totally fine, here are two parking tags. Wow. While standing at the front desk talking to each other about how we should get to the Capitol, should I drive and pay for parking or is it walkable; she heard us and came over with a map, drew the path explaining it was totally walkable and it's supposed to be a beautiful day. Again, wow. Then, we shyly asked, if it's walkable can we leave the car parked in the structure even after checking out in the morning; she said, you bet, no problem. Wowow. Those experiences at checkin alone were distinctively different from so many similar hotels that we've visited that we walked to our room a bit bewildered. Later, we called the front desk to ask for more towels; it seemed like there was a knock at the door when we hung up the phone. We had to call again because we couldn't figure out how to turn switch the shower on (embarassing!) and, again, quickly a knock at the door by the same fellow (this time smiling bigger). Overall, a really great experience at a truly grand hotel. This will be our goto the next time we visit Salem.

A big positive was the free EV charging -- I woke up to a full battery and continued my trip with no issues. Check‑in was friendly, and the warm cookie was a nice touch. The room itself was spacious with a couch, though oddly the couch doesn't face the TV. The end table was sticky and not cleaned properly, and I noticed a burn hole in the carpet near the bed. The carpet overall is showing its age and could use shampooing or replacement. They also charge $15 for a hotel type breakfast that would normally be free at other hotels which was disappointing. I skipped it and went to Elmer's down the street instead and had a much better meal for about the same price. Convenient location and great EV charging, but the noise, worn carpet, and cleanliness issues keep it from being a stronger stay.

The receptionist put me in a far away room on one end of the building on the second floor when I asked for a high floor room by the elevator/lobby. Before I got to my room I was disappointed. I went back and had to wait a bit before I got helped. However, she switched me to a close room near the pool. I actually loved this room. Even though it was close to the pool, it was super quiet, recently remodeled, and convient to the breakfast room. They had sugar and peanut butter cookies at checkin with coffee and the breakfast was good. They even had grapes at breakfast too and a variety of food selections. They would switch the offerings so sometimes there was sausage other days bacon - and some days we had scrambled eggs and other days it was boiled and fried. Some days they had bagels other days they had English muffins. Lots of variety. I liked that they had a small little book and game library near the lobby too plus a variety of tourist literature. The place was cozy and felt like a small apartment. I had housekeeping one day, but not the others. I would have tipped to have housekeeping every day, but that didn't happen and i wasn't expecting it. I also had a bit of trouble getting recognized as a Choice reward member because my work made the reservation, but I did get things fixed. It's in a quiet business/medical cul-de-sac close to the freeway, but the rooms were quiet and the place had everything essential for a good stay. It's close to a pretty man-made lake. I stopped to see the geese and visit the bakery cupcake and cookie place nearby. It's a great value for what you get. I would stay here again.
