This is my first 3 day stay at this hotel and after reading the reviews I can see what some are saying but I've had much worse stays at hotels. In order to rate the hotel I'll rate several areas of importance and then summarize my thoughts. Room size = 4.5 Bed quality = 4 Sheets and comforter = 4 Bathroom quality = 4 Amenities = 4 (coffee maker, fridge, plenty of soaps and towels. Price =2 (prices are similar to California or NY) Restaurant = 3.5 (a little pricey and slow, but the service was pleasant and food was good) House keeping = 2.5. The first day they made the bed and put another shampoo bottle in the bath but left all my towels on the floor?? Front desk = 5. very friendly and helpful. They did initially mess up my bill but the front desk clerk was super apologetic and corrected it immediately. The stay was nice but I'm used to paying $50 to $70 less a night for the same hotel in other parts of the world. Location, location, location I suppose. I'm teetering between a 3 and a 4 and maybe on my next stay if things go better I'll bump them up to a 4. I'll stay here again if it's priced well in line with other surrounding hotels. Enjoy!

This is the third Holiday inn we stayed for our road trip from CA to Portland, this is the second best of the three holiday inn. The first place goes to the one in Bend. This Holiday inn may need to touch up the shower wall, other then that every thing is fine. The front desk guy, Joseph was very friendly and offer best customer service, he was very patient with the senior customer in front of us. After he helped us, he did a follow call to the room and make sure we are happy with the room. Very warm phone call! I will recommend this hotel to my friends!

Just a friendly greeting this morning.

I am shockingly disgusted by our stay here. Unfortunately it has been one thing after another during our stay. Here is a list I've put together to encompass our experience: *Nobody wants to hang their towels above the toilet. Please think about moving the towel racks in the restroom. *The coffee station was not freshly stocked. My boyfriend and I shared one cup, and there were not a lot of options. *Large stain on the shower floor. *Long black hair on one of the shower towels. *When I called the front desk for a couple extra towels and more coffee stuff, I was told I could have the coffee items but not the towels; they are having a shortage on clean towels. I'm sorry but this is hard to believe during Covid when I know they aren't at full capacity. *Welcoming us every time we returned were two overflowing trash cans guarding the front doors. I don't know if they've emptied them once since we arrived. *Trash in the hallway of our floor (specifically beer cans) was present upon arrival on Friday and still sitting there right in and on the ice machine as I write this review on Sunday. *To top off our stay, this morning we opened our room door to be greeted by a fresh, USED, FULL condom!!!! Absolutely disgusting. LOOK- I get it, I'm not blaming the hotel employees for the condom, because it was obviously some sick joke some other guests were playing- but come i am disappointed in how they dealt with the situation. I expected them to apologize, rush to clean it up and at least offer a price adjustment but they ignored my boyfriend when he brought it to their attention and then finally believed him once he showed them the picture! The man finished the discussion by offering to add points to my IHG account. DURING COVID OF ALL TIMES- the cleanliness of this hotel is not up to any standards at all!!!!! I can't express to you how disappointed I am with their priorities clearly not worrying about COVID at all. I have traveled the world and stayed in many hotels- this is probably the worst experience I've ever had. We will not be back.

Shower which hasn't been cleaned in a LONG time possibly the most disgusting shower I've ever used.

One star for the front desk! Really great customer service from all of them. Thank you! That's where it ends... REALLY questionable cleanliness. To the point of possible health hazard. Thankfully, I brought my own Clorox wipes. The shower floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 6 months. And the comfortor, sheets AND pillowcases have large stains. Imagine what you cannot see!! Not confidence inspiring especially during a health pandemic. I'm really hoping I won't get a foot disease from the disgusting shower or other floor surfaces which probably weren't cleaned. And all you are looking forward to after a long day of travel is a good shower. I hope a city health inspector sees this and takes notice. This is not safe for anyone!

I would not recommend this hotel. I reserved 2 rooms for my family and my sister in laws family. Among us both we have 5 kids from 1-11 years old. Upon arrival at 4pm our rooms were not clean and ready. Finally when they had rooms ready we were not able to be close to each other, one room had no toilet paper, the other had no tv remote. My room did not have carpet but linoleum wood. The floors were so dirty it was disgusting. I gave my kids a bath and not even 2 hours after their feet were filthy. We spoke to the front desk at check out and all he said was that he'd speak to management. I called and filed a complaint with corporate but was told at this point I wouldn't be compensated for my stay or be given a credit. Again I do not recommend this hotel especially if your traveling with mofs

Bathroom was large and the water was super hot. Elevator speed/availability-3-There are two elevators and only one was working, and it seemed to get stuck on floors occasionally. Price-5- Very good pricing. Overall-5- I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area. Shout out-Raven at the front desk, really nice, hospitable, and answered all of my questions with a smile.

We selected this property because of its overall location which was not only convenient to family and friends but also extremely convenient for hopping on I-5. We checked in around 3 PM in order to get settled in our room before meeting family for dinner. As always, we appreciate the size and layout of the Home2Suites line of Hilton properties. We appreciate the kitchenette and apartment size refrigerator/freezer, along with ample counter space including two sinks, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, and a place to easily set up your laptop if needed. The entire flow of the room works really well for us. The studio suites are large enough to accommodate more than two people, but we've also enjoyed staying in the one bedroom suite which offers even more room and is similar to a small apartment. We learned they opened in February of 2021 and were busy from the start. We were told they initially housed many families that first year who were displaced from their homes because of Oregon wildfires in the area. In addition to being very convenient to I-5, it is also extremely convenient to Highway 22 which runs east and west through the area. As common in Home2Suites properties there is a nice size gym, laundry facility, a better than average hotel breakfast served daily, and this particular property has a indoor pool and hot tub, which makes it nice since it is open year round. There is also a patio area which offers outdoor seating and barbecue grills. Also, every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. But a special shout out to Terrence, who was extremely helpful in assisting my wife with her early morning laundry routine. Our only negative experience was they do not appear to have enough luggage carts for the property. We struggled upon check in and check out to locate a luggage cart, which makes it much easier for us to transport our cooler, which is not on wheels, and of course, helpful with transporting additional luggage.

Downsides: - Hotel temp was HOT. ALL THE TIME. My room was far larger than expected, and was very well-equipped. In addition to all the standards (in-room refrigerator, microwave, etc.) was a white noise (and others) machine to assist with sleep (one minor gripe is that the sound isolation between rooms isn't terribly great), and a wall-mounted thermostat for the air conditioner and heat. One very thoughtful touch was two bottles of water, free of charge, already in my room upon arrival. Staff was incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly. My room was immaculate, and there were no signs of wear on anything nor neglected repairs. Complimentary breakfast was better than most. The mains also vary from day to day. There is a separate waffle station from the main hot dishes, and it features pastries that were far better than most, which was a really pleasant surprise. The covered parking garage is TIGHT, and is shared with the in-hotel restaurant (Bentley's), and the Salem Convention Center, so it can get crowded. There are two "Blink" EV charging stations, which is appreciated.

A big positive was the free EV charging -- I woke up to a full battery and continued my trip with no issues. Check‑in was friendly, and the warm cookie was a nice touch. The room itself was spacious with a couch, though oddly the couch doesn't face the TV. The end table was sticky and not cleaned properly, and I noticed a burn hole in the carpet near the bed. The carpet overall is showing its age and could use shampooing or replacement. They also charge $15 for a hotel type breakfast that would normally be free at other hotels which was disappointing. I skipped it and went to Elmer's down the street instead and had a much better meal for about the same price. Convenient location and great EV charging, but the noise, worn carpet, and cleanliness issues keep it from being a stronger stay.

We booked ahead and checked in online, though we still had to stop at the front desk for keys. We're not quite ready to rely on the digital key in the Hilton app due to past experiences. The hotel is right off the Market Street exit in Salem. The area is fairly busy, and getting in and out of the parking lot--especially near the neighboring McDonald's--can be a little tricky if you need to turn left. Our room setup was somewhat similar to a Home2, though smaller, with just a mini fridge, microwave, and sofa seating. We were on the side facing I-5, so road noise was constant. It didn't bother us much--more like background white noise--but it was noticeable. The heating and cooling were controlled directly on the unit under the window, which is typical of older properties. Newer ones usually have wall-mounted thermostats. That said, the room itself looked recently remodeled and was generally comfortable. The only real negative was the desk chair, which had several tears exposing the cushion underneath and definitely needed replacing. We didn't use most of the hotel's amenities, but there is a breakfast area ($15 per person) and a small bar, neither of which looked busy when we passed by. The property also has an indoor pool and fitness area. Overall, this was an adequate and reasonably comfortable stay, and we were satisfied with our choice.

Even though it was close to the pool, it was super quiet, recently remodeled, and convient to the breakfast room. They had sugar and peanut butter cookies at checkin with coffee and the breakfast was good. They even had grapes at breakfast too and a variety of food selections. They would switch the offerings so sometimes there was sausage other days bacon - and some days we had scrambled eggs and other days it was boiled and fried. Some days they had bagels other days they had English muffins. Lots of variety. I liked that they had a small little book and game library near the lobby too plus a variety of tourist literature. The place was cozy and felt like a small apartment. I had housekeeping one day, but not the others. I would have tipped to have housekeeping every day, but that didn't happen and i wasn't expecting it. I also had a bit of trouble getting recognized as a Choice reward member because my work made the reservation, but I did get things fixed.
