This hotel and hospitality speaks for itself. Thank you to the young lady and Sul for their hard work, patience and kindness. Did not go unnoticed and I'll never hotel anywhere else! From snacks to chillies across the street! Clean rooms.

    Bathroom, small but functional

A mix of plusses and minuses... A fresh clean lobby and friendly and helpful staff kicked off this short stay. The room was clean, and included a note on our headboard saying the duvet was also freshly cleaned. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was small, but functional, with a full line of Neutrogena soap and care products. But, It also included the loudest exhaust fan. Screamed like dying machinery. Toilet flushed sooo loud - we could hear next room's too, and we are sure the occupants have bladder control problems. No biggie - we were headed out to a nice Italian dinner at La Zyngara in nearby Bethel (highly recommended). So after a nice dinner we sat down to watch the World Series. No printed TV guide. Called the front desk and was directed to the channel before channel 1 The guide listing was of no use, as none of the channels corresponded to the guide. Guide said game on 15 - was on 13. Guide said college football game was on 56 - that was Housewives on Bravo instead. The front desk had no idea the guide was wrong, but gets high marks for going into a room to duplicate our experience with an apology. In room One Cup coffee was so bad... Breakfast was very nice, and the overall experience was mixed. If they fix the fan, toilet and TV guide it would make for a much more enjoyable stay.

    Beat up furniture.

I was put in the room closest to the reception desk, and even though I could occasionally hear a voice or two in the hallway, the soundproofing in the hotel is good.

There was also many local eateries and shopping within less than 10 minutes drive. The rooms were spacious and very clean! The staff were beyond friendly and helpful! You could see they truly cared, which is rare these days. I arrived 2 mins after breakfast and the woman re-opened the breakfast center just for me. We were so appreciative of the great hospitality. The fitness center was a little cramped and there was only one elevator but that is a super small con amidst all of the pros. Definitely a return visit if we're in the area. Stellar stay!

The sheets had clearly been slept in. I've read about some hotels not changing sheets after a one night stay but this is the first time I've actually experienced it. And at a Marriott! There were little sugar ants around the bathroom area. Not many, but they just kept appearing. When I complained the staff told me it was because they are located in the woods. Bull- - - - This hotel is old and tired. To top it off, they charged for parking. While the charge is minimal, the hotel is on the outskirts of the city, no reason to charge for parking.

Do I have to mention how classy and comfortable the furniture is? It is worth to leave the City, book a room or a suite, and enjoy of all privileges as a guest including the pool. There is plenty of parking, no extra pay required. The Reception staff were great, pleasant and accommodating. There is plenty of seating space for chatting with friends or just to relax. The garden is very cute. The pool is 4 1/2 feet deep. The restaurant is open for dinner and Happy Hour. The appetizers we ordered were very good and so were the drinks. I would suggest to management to keep an eye and enforce the rules to be observed at the pool, (no glasses). Also, if there are toddlers with diapers, the diapers must be appropriate for the pool.

Gunk was coming up as you turned on water to use the sink. Not a good experience. They did finally fix it on the last day after several requests and email and because now water started leaking from the pipes. We had to use our clean towels to soak up the mess. Due to this issue we missed our prepaid breakfast two of our days here. Breakfast was nothing to brag about. There is coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. AC had dirty vents so breathing was an issue and the fridge was very noisy.

The studio setup with queen bed was spacious and allowed us to bring more than the typical 2 suitcases. It's definitely nice, for a longer stay. If they will treat a Titanium member this way, what will they do to the average traveler? Filthy room, TV didn't work, mattress was rock hard and pillow was way past its useful life. A broken mirror is a very real danger to those travelling with children, please be cautious. Also note that it's not visible thru the trees, but one side faces a highway and the noise is endless. Overall the rooms need to be remodeled, the exterior desperately needs a pressure washing and the breakfast looked inedible. Email to manager when asked for a review: I'm truly glad you asked. I spend 120+ nights per year in hotels and presently hold Titanium with Marriott and Diamond with Hilton. I routinely experience one or more problems with hotels about once a month, but this is one of the 2-3 times a year I feel the need to document the issue(s) in a formal complaint.  When I arrived at your property I arrived after dark, so I couldn't see the exterior of your property. Had I seen it, I would've immediately cancelled my stay due to my core belief- if you don't maintain the exterior, you don't maintain the interior. I'm attaching photos so that you can see things from my perspective. The dirt and rust on the exterior of your property leaves it looking more like a Motel 6 than a Marriott property. Even the sidewalk was littered with trash and dog feces.  Exhausted and traveling with my wife and son, we just wanted to sleep. The TV in the bedroom to the right of room 320 was not functional. Although the light was on, neither the remote nor the power button would turn it on. Your TV's are so old and poorly installed that it doesn't surprise me it didn't work. Frankly, I don't recall seeing TV's of that model in ANY Marriott in years and even then that small old model was usually found in the lower end chains of Marriott not Residence Inn.  We let him use the living room TV and went to bed. The overall cleanliness seemed ok, but the deodorizing spray smell was very heavy. It wasn't until we'd been in the room for a few hours that we realized it was used to mask the odor of marijuana smoke- a smell that become overpowering after we'd become nose-blind to the deodorizer. It wasn't until the next morning that the true condition of the room became apparent.  You'll notice the photos I took of areas like the track for the closet door, telephone and similar areas. This room was in dire need of a deep cleaning. Everywhere throughout the room there were deep ruts of dirt and grime that a simple brush and deep cleaning would erase. The overall condition of the room was poor, including furniture that was long past its lifespan and in poor condition. The mirror in the bedroom on the left was cracked- a serious safety concern for parents with small children.  The mattresses were rock hard and stained, the pillows were also extremely poor quality.  In closing, I only had one interaction with your staff when I asked for a business card for the manager. The woman who was present upon checkout at approximately noon looked at me and motioned to the card holder on the front desk, which I hadn't noticed. In my experience, properly trained staff will ask if there is something they can assist with before handing out a card. She didn't seem to notice or care, which is a great description for the condition of your hotel and likely indicative of its causation.  You wanted my opinion, you have received it. Your property will be added to a list of properties maintain by myself and coworkers, places to be avoided at all costs. I wish you the best, you have a monumental task ahead of you.

They said "tomorrow morning." I asked if they could send up new towels & someone to get the garbage that night, which they didn't do. All day 6/29, we kept inconveniencing ourselves, trying to make sure we were out of the room so housekeeping could make it up, & they just kept not doing it. I reminded them @ the front desk at 1 pm to make up the room then called the front desk again at 3:30 pm when it still wasn't done. At 6 pm we left for dinner & again told the front desk to make up the room. They said housekeeping had left for the day (!). This time they sent up the clean towels though. They finally made up the room on 6/30. Left 7/1. 3 stars because the pool & room were nice. Fitness center was okay; please put in a freestanding bench, there's plenty of room. Could do A LOT more with all those free weights if there was a bench. Our refrigerator froze everything we put in it, even on the lowest setting, which was annoying. Desk lamp in our room (412) did not work.
