Traveled over 4 hours away for a wedding of a good friend of mine who reserved a block of rooms for her wedding. I missed the wedding because my room wasn't ready until 4 (got here at 2:00 thinking maybe I could check in early, check-in was advertised for 3:00, we didn't get our room until 4:00). It wasn't just us... a huge number of wedding guests got their rooms after the scheduled check in time. The couple that got theirs before me got a "complimentary upgrade" for having to wait so long. We got nothing. Not even an apology or "thanks for your patience." In fact, when we first arrived, the girl at the counter seemed bothered by our presence when I said I was checking in. Her sentiment was: "like I said to them [the people in front of us in line], there are no rooms ready right now." Sorry that we weren't listening to your conversation with the previous customers. We went out for an hour and came back. Still not ready. Since we missed ALL of the shuttles to the wedding reception, we spent $40 for an Uber on top of the $150 for the out-dated hotel room that I didn't even get to be in for the time I paid for. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

So, unfortunately my stay didn't improve, but still sticking with a sold four stars because of the way the employees acknowledged the issues and because these issues were not indicative of anything I had experienced in the weeks prior to this visit. The last three days I suddenly found ants in the room and housecleaning hadn't cleaned the room in at least the last two days I was there, so no new towels for me (and I did not have the "Do Not Disturb" doorknob hanger up). I am HORRIFIED by the lack of service here. They double charged me for my room in April (it's now July) and refuse to reimburse me or give me travel credits. They also refuse to answer my phone calls or emails. VERY disappointed. read more

Would have given 0 stars if available. Room not ready on time. Finally room is ready and human fecal matter is on toilet. Clearly has not been cleaned. Informed front desk that we will be going out for a while and to please have room cleaned. 5 hours later...human fecal matter still present. Discussed with front desk, they do not offer to clean bathroom. We clean bathroom ourself and request more towels to replace the ones we used cleaning. Housing keeping finally shows up and passively aggressively gives us 23 new towels (this is not a joke) and takes our trash. Trash can is never returned so we go down to inquire. Housing keeping then places missing trashcan on front desk saying we can now take it up ourself. What a joke. Trashcan is later returned by front desk. Front desk was awesome. My wife and I travel a lot for work and we don't expect much from a hotel, really. However, this hotel has the most unprofessional and outright rude staff I've experienced since I can remember. We reserved our room and requested a crib for our infant daughter. This was easily provided by the two previous hotels we had stayed at during this trip. However when checking in to this hotel at 5:30pm so our baby could get some rest before our dinner with family, we were told by "Gary" that the crib was not yet in the room. I asked them to please deliver it right away since the baby was well past her nap time and we had requested this a week prior. Fast forward 20 minutes later and we have a screaming infant in our room, still without a crib. I went downstairs to ask "Gary" where they keep the cribs so I could just get it myself and he seemed very annoyed that I was asking for something he had already promised and told us that he had just spoke with his guy and he was on his way. Pretty sure he wasn't "on his way" because it wasn't until some 15 minutes later that we finally got a knock on the door and the employee says nothing, just starts to push the crib into the room. I took the crib from him and set it up myself. There was no urgency on the staff to get us the crib, no apology, no follow-up. Honestly I felt bad for our baby, who spent all day around her grandparents in the hospital since with their declining health, we knew we may never see them again. If a manager is reading this, please know that your staff absolutely sucks and has no understanding of what it means to work in hospitality. We went to and from the lobby several times later throughout our 3 day stay to visit the grandparents in the hospital. "Gary" wouldn't even look at us. Your other front desk staff just hid in a corner on their phones. I rarely get bothered by hotels, but your staff is an absolute joke and a stain on the Hilton name. Marriott had no trouble taking care of us and I will make sure I give them my patronage in the future, thanks to your establishment. read more

I enjoyed our stay here. We had a living social so I cannot comment on the price however check in was a breeze. We arrived 3 hours before check-in and they had our room freshly cleaned. There is a pool although we did not visit this. It is fairly large but surprisingly not too noisy. There is a complementary hot and cold breakfast every morning which was very tasty. Limited seating area but there was a wedding party that had stayed over. They have freshly baked cookies in the lobby at 5pm. The rooms were great. Beds were SO comfy. The room was clean and I loved the large bathroom. Definitely a good choice if you're in the area! read more

My husband and I stayed here around Christmas since we were visiting family in the area. The location is convenient and close to the freeway. Parking was ample. Front desk people were super nice. Breakfast was typical, not great but ok. The room was clean except for a bag of condoms in the closet in a sheetz bag. I guess some guests would be happy to find it but I was a bit disturbed. I also paid for the room online during a hilton sale but got charged an additional $4 for some reason. Overall it was a good place to stay and we will probably stay again. read more

I just checked out of this Hampton Inn after a 22-day stay, and while it's obviously not a luxury hotel, I have nothing but gratitude for the comfort and customer service provided at this location. We actually had planned to stay in a different extended-stay type of venue, but when we checked in there, the room did not have a functioning deadbolt or toilet--total dealbreaker! Desperate, we called several other places to see if any of them could fit us and our dog in for an extended reservation on such short notice. The Hampton Inn came to our rescue! We arrived exhausted and were greeted by warm and friendly staff--and the smell of fresh baked cookies in the lobby, which happens every night at 5 pm. There is also coffee and hot water for tea/cocoa along with the cookies. The room itself was comfortable and clean, had a microwave and small fridge, great water pressure, high shower head, cable, free internet, and plenty of shelving and closet space for a long stay. If you are here longer than a day or two, you will quickly become on a first-name basis with many of the staff members, which adds a cozy feeling of security to the experience of being a guest. The staff go above and beyond. For example, there was a severe winter storm one night, and I woke up in the morning to find that a staff member had already helped to de-ice my car. I've never had hotel staff do anything like that for me in the past. The breakfast, like the evening cookies, is complimentary and is much better than most comp breakfasts. There's a hot line that usually has eggs, sausage, and potatoes (or similar), oatmeal with toppings, two waffle irons, a large selection of cereal, yogurt, pastries, bagels, juices, coffees, and teas. The dining area is clean and comfortable, and in the evenings, other guests sometimes sit down there and converse. The location is convenient, although the highway is fairly close and the main road has heavy traffic during rush hour. A movie theater, organic grocer, Starbucks, and several restaurants and shops are in the complex nearby, although it's not set up well for pedestrians. Because the hotel is a bit set back from the road, I always felt fairly safe as a guest. And the grounds include a gazebo and a little pond, although I wish there had been more places to walk the dog. I think that the restaurant that other reviewers have mentioned is now closed--although a friend says it used to be kind of a social hub here in town. So noise was never an issue for us. I didn't take advantage of dry cleaning services, but the laundry facilities were convenient. Facilities inside look well maintained, clean, and comfortable. I'm not giving the Hampton Inn five stars because of some magical luxury experience. But the experience of comfortable, personable, attentive service sustained over three weeks is probably more magical than an afternoon of spa services. The value was wonderful as well, and I'm so grateful that they were able to offer all this to us with literally one hour notice. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

It is the little things, and they add up. I got here late. It was a loooong day and I was minutes from REM sleep. When I got to the check-in counter, I was the only one there. The front desk clerk was on the phone trying to explain to some dim-wit how to access the free wireless in their room. And I waited. And waited. Finally she got off the phone and started working on my check-in. I made the critical error of adding a couple of beers from the fridge to my check-in tally. After what seemed like dozens of minutes, she was close to figuring it out when the phone rang. Rather than putting them on hold, she listened to their story for a while, tried to help, then decided that my slumber on her counter predicated the clown on the line. So after all of that, I head up to my room. Behind one wall was the ice machine and vending room, behind the other wall was the elevator shaft. Trust me when I tell you, people get their buckets filled with ice, all night long. And if you haven't had the pleasure of an elevator shaft behind your headboard, it sounds like the starship Enterprise is lifting off behind your head every ten minutes throughout the night. And the mattress had a deep trench grooved into it, so even if I rolled over, I always settled into the ditch. Suffice to say, I got next to no sleep that night. So the next morning, I figured the best way to wake up was with a hot shower. Uh oh. The hot water ran out seconds after I rinsed the shampoo from my hair. No standing there contemplating life. After that was the ironing board fiasco. The. Ironing. Board. Legs. Failed. And kept failing as in not staying locked in an upright position. No matter what I did. Really woeful. Jeebus. I've had enough of this place. read more

I was here for a short stay (1 night), but was happy with the service. One thing I can count on is the consistency of the Hampton Inn (and Hilton) brand. I cannot think of a time when I have been disappointed by any Hampton Inn, and this one does not fail either. The complimentary breakfast was also quite good, especially compared to some other brands. One tip for this hotel though, the handicap room by the elevator can be difficult for a light sleeper. Whether because people were using the elevator, or because they were repairing one of the elevators, it made it difficult for my wife to sleep, though I slept perfectly fine. It is not loud, but it is a vibration and bit of hum every time it fires up. read more

Noisy! Aside from the roaring traffic outside, the restaurant and lounge in the hotel (which the staff will tell you is not actually affiliated with the hotel) blares music late into the night Thursday through Saturday (at least). The hotel's only solution for this was to move me to another room (at 1 am). My room smelled of smoke, though it was a "non-smoking" room. The location is nice (except for the highway), the pool looked nice, and breakfast was the standard complimentary type but sufficient. I would not recommend this hotel and don't plan on staying here next time I visit Frederick. read more

Recently spent the weekend there with large group of car enthusiasts. Keys for many doors did not work, many attempts made by staff to fix. No hot water for the duration of the weekend; staff told us they were aware, but did nothing. Elevators frequently would not discharge passengers; we had to force the doors open to get out, and ended up climbing the stairs several times a day to avoid getting trapped. I will never stay at this particular hotel again. read more

Really nice clean and comfortable hotel. Other reviews mentioned the hotel was recently refurbished. Don't know but the carpet and furnishings looked new certainly very clean. As with other Fairfield Inns we've stayed in the room and bathroom was small but with enough space for our stuff. Small gym with two treadmills, a cross trainer and a rack of weights. Treadmills were very nice. Small indoor pool. Very nice breakfast service included in the price of the room. Hot good coffee and a wide variety of foods including hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, and even gluten free bagels. Nice! My only complaint was that there was a problem with their wi-fi. Asked at the front desk about it, the woman was nice but her suggestion didn't work. Good place to stay if you're visiting historic Fredrick. read more

I love Hampton Inns. They're our failsafe---regardless of where we go, we know what we're getting, and they are always consistent. We've had some experiences that were better than others, but I typically know it will be clean and I'll get a good night's sleep. We stayed here for a friend's wedding, and the hotel was fine. The building is very unattractive from the outside, but once you are inside, everything has been renovated. Our hotel room faced the highway, and the traffic was a bit loud earlier on, but quieted down as it got later. I sleep like the dead, so I didn't wake up due to any loud noises. Another bonus---they are pet friendly, which is huge for me. Our dog tends to tag along on any vacations or trips where we can swing it, and it was nice to be able to bring her with us, and not pay any outrageous pet fees either. The continental breakfast was pretty standard for Hampton Inn, although the hot food was a little gross...the eggs were very very dry, and the turkey sausage was a bit rubbery. I stuck to cereal and a banana, which are hard to mess up. read more

Overall an adequate hotel for business travel. The room was clean and comfy! The front desk staff was accommodating and very pleasant. However, the breakfast is below par. The coffee was frequently empty, the eggs (are they even real) were over cooked and rubbery and they only had white bread. Who eats white bread anymore! I travel to the area frequently and will go back to the Courtyard Marriott. Breakfast is a big deal to frequent travelers and management needs to take a look at what they are doing! read more

No hot water. Because of the reviews on google saying there was no hot water I called the hotel before I made reservations. They assured me there was hot water or else they would be closed. I stayed here for a total of 6 nights. 4 I had hot water the other two I did not. I am a Hilton diamond member and this is the worst Hampton I have been at. read more

The rooms are somewhat clean with a musty smell. Most of the staff was nice, but I requested towels and shampoo one night and the man working the front desk was extremely rude. Additionally they gave someone a key to my room without my permission! What a safety violation! Also I left an expensive sweeter in my room, and when I inquired about the lost and found I was hung up once and told employees had no idea where the lost and found was located when I went there in person. Furthermore I booked a block of rooms and brunch for my out of town wedding guests. Well the phones weren't working for a month so it was next to impossible to coordinate with them! read more

Tried three different rooms to find one that wasn't mildewy. Gave up after third room. Asked for a room on lower floor, thinking maybe roof had leaked and that's why upper floor rooms smelled...but the carpets were being cleaned on floors 2-4, so no rooms available. Front desk was very helpful, apologized for the smell, and admitted that others had complained too. At 11 pm, we finally just took what was available. We are supposed to stay here again in one week as we pass back through the area en route to MA, but I think I will look for other options. read more

Very friendly people working here. They went out of their way to accommodate . A.little.expensive for a Hampton but once there it was worth it. Free coffe all day, cookies at night, exceptional.service , very clean rooms . You can tell the owner/ management team care. They understand the concept of great service. I have lived in this area in my entire life, and this hotel has always been so great at service. I tried to make reservations for a block of rooms for an event, and this is where it all went wrong. I booked a block of rooms, seven to be exact, and informed the guests of how they could reserve these rooms. I was getting a lot of feedback from my guests that they were being told the block didn't exist. I called to confirm this using my email and confirmation number but was told that the block was not there. I asked the same individual if I could then cancel the block of rooms (I was scared being that this was reserved on my credit card) and she asked for my confirmation number again. She then typed this into the system said she found my reservation and she would then go ahead and cancel it. I'm not sure what type of skills are lacking in this place but I am not sure they are reliable at this time. We have had issues in the past staying here after weddings in terms of utilizing the spaces and having the room situated. So this is kind of a last straw. Back in the day this was the only lodging in the area, but now there are several more choices close by. read more

I have stayed at this Hampton Inn for a total of 11 nights in the last two months (business travel). Overall the hotel has courteous desk staff and the rooms are clean. However, I do have some frustrations with this location: 1) The continental breakfast is not good at all. Each morning, I like getting a banana (portable), a bagel (portable w/o cream cheese) and a cup of coffee. During my most recent stay, they did not have bananas the whole week. It is managements job to drive out to the grocery store & get them if your local distributor cannot supply the item. This was a lingering disappointment throughout the week. Furthermore, items constantly needed to be replenished, and there was only one employee working the breakfast; coffee was empty multiple times. Management needs to take a look at this; the continental breakfast can be the centerpiece of a hotel's perception of good customer service. 2) The Grab and Go food section by the Front Desk needs healthier options. I understand that these items need to be marked up at least 60 to 75%, but there should be some worthwhile food options (trail mix, dried fruit, etc) 3) The elevator has apparently been broken for over two months. Additionally, the only working elevator is slow and creaky. Overall, I do support the Hilton brand on travel but this location needs to fix these customer-centric problems to earn my business back. Frederick just had a new Hilton Garden Inn open, and I may try that location in my next June visit to Frederick. read more

Unfortunately we had a rough start at the hotel. Here for a wedding and assigned a room that smelled of sewage. The windows were open when we checked in late but that night we had to close the bathroom door because of the stench. The freeway is way to loud to leave the window open so needless to say it was a rough night. We asked to change rooms the next day and were told the hotel was full until we pushed for a refund when a room magically appeared. The worst aspect of this is that someone knew of the stench and left the windows open but still assigned this room to us! What were they thinking? Anyways, I wont stay here again because of that mistake and likely no more Hampton Inns in general. I've paid much less to stay someone much better. read more

The noise from the highway woke us up at 5 am this morning. On the plus side the room was clean and the desk staff was very polite.

Extremely clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We did a room block here for our wedding guests and it was so simple to work with the coordinator on arranging this. My husband and I also stayed here our wedding night and everything was wonderful. The hotel has a bar/restaurant which was a nice added touch as well! read more

First and foremost, I would like to point out that Frederick has the Hampton inn and also the Hampton inn & suites, they are 10 minutes apart and have no affiliation to one another. You would never guess it but when I typed in Hampton inn into my gps it sent me to the wrong one so I got to drive all the way in the other direction. This review is for the one on buckeystown rd by the highway onramp. They did have cookies in a container when I got there so that's something, but that was immediately followed by my card being declined and she asked if I had any issues with it before, waiting for the other woman to get off the phone for what seemed like an eternity only for her to come over and point at something on the screen and cause a realization on the first girls face and with one click everything was good to go. The room had highway noise more than I would like but I don't think there's much solution for that. The hot water in the morning would not get very warm and then halfway through the shower it became scolding hot so that woke me up! The coffee was pretty good I must say and I took a cup to go. read more

From start to finish horrible. I called my reservation in an hour prior to our arrival as we were traveling through. I asked prior to booking if the hotel was pet friendly and what the total costs for our stay would be. I was told my total for the night was $140. When I arrived the lady who checked me in added an additional $75 non refundable pet fee to my bill. I explained to her I had already been told for pet and all $140.00 was what I was quoted. She ignored me and finished her paperwork. My husband told her we would go somewhere else instead of paying $223 for the no more than 7 hours we would be there. We were told that since cancellation must be 24 hours in advance we would be charged for the room we had just booked an hour earlier. Fuming mad we took the room. The hotel is in need of updating. It looks like the rooms haven't been updated since the 90's. They were dark , dingy and had a weird smell. The pillows were like bricks so if you like a really hard pillow this is the place. Finally, the worse part is the loud interstate next to the hotel. I felt like I was sleeping on a NASCAR track. Needless to say I was not happy with the whole experience. This hotel should be in the $69.00 price range and not a penny over. Wish I had waited for a Residence Inn. read more

Rude staff cable out for days room not serviced had to ask for toilet paper stay elsewhere

The hotel was nice, staff was nice but don't leave anything in your room by accident!! I left my diamond earrings there and called them after I checked out on Saturday. They said they would hold them if they found them. I went there the next Monday to see if they found them. The guy at the front desk told me he remembered finding them, putting them in a bag with my name and room number on them and putting them in the cash drawer. He opened the drawer and they were not there. He told me the manager was there when he found them as well and would remember. He told me he would ask the cleaning people if they put them somewhere else and then they would call me. Of course they never called so I called back and he said the cleaning staff didn't have them so I asked to speak to the manager, he wasn't there so I called him the next day. He said he remembered when they were found and put in the cash drawer and he would research it and get back to me. Again, no one ever called back. So I called again and the manager said, maybe they got thrown in the trash somehow. I asked him what he was going to do to pay me back and he didn't have an answer. I don't understand how two people can tell me they were found and put in a drawer and all of a sudden they are gone. Sounds like they have a stealing problem with their staff to me. read more
